I think it’s very interesting how high the wrist pins are in the pistons. What a genius way of supporting the oil ring. Those pistons are an awfully funny color. Long live the SBC!
For what the cost of pistons are, good on the company for standing by their product. It probably would have been a promo to say the name, but I understand.
You might have said something about this in the video, my speakers a little jacked up, but why do you have spiral locks plus wrist pin buttons? Every piston I’ve had that used buttons, be they aluminum or Teflon buttons, used them instead of any circlip/spiralock/etc? They literally go from cylinder wall to pin and on both sides so they keep the pin centered automatically and retained without the need for any clips of either style. And since you’ve got the notched style that support the oil ring rail they are doubly not going anywhere because the rails holding it in too!
I am curious of this as well. I’m no top fuel engine builder but from what I’ve seen of piston pin buttons they never use any lock for the pin. With that said maybe this manufacturer wants them installed that way? I’m not sure
@ yeah me too, never seen them together. It’s almost like that piston was originally made for lock wires and he had some buttons made and didn’t realize once you’ve got buttons you don’t need the lock wires anymore 🤷🏻♂️. Idk my speaker is jacked up, maybe he explained it in the video
That’s awesome the piston manufacturer is a stand up company. They are treating you right which is very uncommon, glad to see that!
