Had a couch in my room since I was like 10 (now I'm 21), and now I also have a recliner chair, table and an ottoman. This is not a big bedroom but hey, it's worth it.
My theory: EA's buildings are basically what we would built at 3am after 72 hours without sleeping if someone told us we can't sleep until we're finished

i just wanted to say: yesterday, i both went back to school (on campus), and my mom had an unexpected and sudden surgery (she’s okay and the surgery went well, it was just an intestinal thing). i was feeling so overwhelmed and anxious, so, to calm myself down before bed, i started watching a simsie video. instantly i felt much more calm and happy, so thank you kayla. you’ve not only gotten me through quarantine but now a very stressful situation. thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart kayak, you’ve been my refuge in lockdown. 💕
I always put desks against the wall unless it’s a formal office. In my Sims’ formal office I have two leather armchairs (the ones that match the base game leather desk chair) and a round end table with the Courtyard Oasis tea set. I also put the Paranormal Stuff rug in there

If I have like a work from home sim (especially my dream home decorator sims) then I will have a room where I like to think they meet clients and it's usually going to have a desk and chairs in the middle of the room and like a little coffee/tea station on the side and bookshelves, etc. and even a little seating area off to the side if we're doing well and moving up in the world, haha.
Don’t worry, most of us who are American are also confused. Although I do have 2.5 in my house because if we didn’t the only bathroom upstairs would be the one in my grandparents’ room. The house I live in is weirdly designed. It’s not typical. 2.5 is usually the normal limit before we start getting too bougie.
Pretty sure it's just a sims thing. I play with large families and it's honestly just easier to have more than 2 bathrooms. That way sims don't have to go up and down the stairs frequently just to pee for example.
some of these have big ‘I just built my first build in the sims 4 and I am super proud of it now but will cringe at it in a few months’ energy but instead of posting it on a personal gallery account to be forgotten they put it into literally everyone’s library

Kayla, you should do a challenge where you build a floor plan, but randomize what each room is after the floor plan is already made. Imagine the lols if you had to build a bathroom in a kitchen sized space, or vice versa!
the kids having bigger better rooms than the parents reminds me of my childhood, my parents had a small dark room with terrible natural light, but me & my siblings all had big bright rooms - i respect it, prioritizing your kids' comfort

I have a big round cuddle chair in my room and my little sister has a loveseat... it's real nice to have somewhere else cushy to sit in your room aside from your bed, especially if you have nice decorative cushions on the bed that get messed up
I actually love the way you jump around during builds, I'm very ADHD and always have to jump between at least 3 different areas of a build, so seeing you do it as well is kinda satisfying?? it's nice to be able to relate to how you jump around lol

I just stumbled upon this video after I renovated this exact lot into a LIBRARY! It looks so good, like a little community neighborhood library! I obvs made a lot of changes to the inside, completely new landscaping, and slight changes to the outside (that green had to go lol).

The Suspended Modern lot is not trash!! Its a reference to a lot in the Sims 2 I believe was called the Deh’javu Art Museum! It was a super cool lot in the Sims 2 Maxis just did it dirty. Loved the green screen❤️

Ooooh, I understand now. I played with that house that had the 'broken' room and I was so perplexed when the ground turned white in winter when it snowed. I thought I accidentally deleted the floor or the game was glitched or something, lol. It's kind of reassuring to know that the build is just broken.
