Well in the archon quest Arlecchino mentions that she didn’t believe that Furina was an archon but rather someone put under some sort of curse. This idea (in my opinion at least) makes the most logical sense since if she really is someone put under a curse of immortality then she’d find it hard to make friends therefore she’d be lonely. Another thing that proves this idea is that Furina has almost zero idea of how diplomacy works (as if she was just there to act as the archon). Now this theory does have a question mentioned in the archon quest: If Furina isnt the archon then who is? There may be a few answers possible to this question, but the one I find the most likely to be true is that the oratrice holds the consciousness of the true Hydro Archon. One; I believe this to be the case since she only really seems to have faith in the Oratrices plans when speaking to Arlecchino rather then her own and Two; because she basically admits multiple times to not knowing how the oratrice works nor its purpose. Tl;dr? Furina isnt the Hydro Archon but instead an actress on a stage playing a role and the Oratrice is the one behind it. that's why I felt like furina was the one who split into the humane form and the oratrice but to make sure the gnosis and the plan were completely safe she also put her memories of diplomacy, power and all that into the oratrice as well
as for the fountain of lucine if by some chance my theory is somehow correct then I can really only go off of how her description on her drip marketing says the fountain washed away her tears but I'm not really sure why she would've been crying maybe with the prophecy and stuff but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have a feeling that Furina gave her "intelligent " side to the Oratrice so it can determine who is guilty.
It includes intelligence, sense of justice, manners, maturity, presence of mind etc...
After observing furina to be clueless about how oratrice works but even the hydro dragon crediting her to be the developer, she doesnt look intelligent "now".
She talks silly to the hydro dragon, traveller, tartaglia, knave, and anyone important enough to not behave goofy in front of. (No maturity)
Challenges people like traveller and tartaglia. (No braincell for threat)
She randomly accuses people based on how she feels and does not take responsibility when she almost ruined their lives. (Her sense of justice is shit)
Doesnt do any work of an archon. (No sense of responsibility)
I feel that the future quest is gonna make us sympathize for Furina because she gave up her bright self to oratrice for sake of fontaine's future and (MAYBE) with our help, she will get her smart self back from oratrice and justice system will be reformed to not depend on oratrice.
This may be also why Arlecchino believed she's under some kind of curse! Nice theory

I like to believe since pnuema means body and ousia means mind, that the pneuma (white state) that FURINA is in is the body of the archon. She is just the physical body like she’s not got a brain or soul. However the ousia side which is the soul (darker state like on splash art) is in the oratrice. It would make sense if before her release we see this soul come out and that would explain her splash art. So that there is only 2 hydro archons. Also I believe that the third seat is purely just for neuvillette 😂

Saw mineslif do this theory that furina is one of these three sisters and that one of them is in the opera house one the otetrese ( spelt that wrong 😅) because it has three drops of water for the three hydro archons. And 4he last one is in the fountain. Personal theory of mine is that the reason they say furina will be alone is because the two other hydro archons will also be dissolved in the primordial sea 😅

The first hydro archon died idk when so farina took her place and she is still getting used to it but no one really sees her as the archon yet, and the chairs are just for the archon and the helpers or whatever we should call them. I hope that explains a bit 😅
The first archon died in the cataclysm like Makoto and Ruhka. Wich means Furina is maybe younger or a little older than Nahida depending how much time before getting another archon passed, we know appearance doesn't equal age on genshin

This sounds plausible. Throughout the archon quest it always felt to me like she was constantly playing a role, a part per say, like she was acting... So I always thought that she was some kind of stand-in for the real hydro archon
No it’s not lmao hoyoverse has made it so clear that she is the hydro archon she’s featured in every single official archon themed promotion and mihoyo clearly intends to make Furina the archon. This theory doesn’t make sense at all. The only thing that would make sense is that she has split personalities, as it is reflected from her heterochromia, symbolising different sides of her. It’s also implied in the 4.0 archon quest that there might be 2 personalities of Furina, one as the “mascot” of Fontaine and the logical (not sure but it seems to make the most sense). One thing I’m sure of is that Furina is definitely the archon. If she’s not based on your knowledge, then nahida shouldn’t be the dendro archon too.

Based on Sumeru’s archon quest and nahida’s story quests, there will only be a new archon if the old archon is confirmed to be dead. Furina wouldn’t be able to kill Egeria (the old hydro archon) as she wasn’t even in teyvat yet

Actually, in the summertime event, when we talk to an oceanid for the first time the oceanid (I forgot her name) said “once the previous Hydro Archon died”, which meant that the Hydro archon is dead, and that furina is basically a replacement to the Hydro archons place

Whenever an Archon dies, another takes their place, like what happened with the Dendro Archon.
It's stated that out of the original members of the Seven, only Zhongli (Morax) and Venti (Barbatos) remain.

The statue supports that aswell as her kit.
An Archon is a god of their element, so it would make sense they would be the best or very very good at what their element does best.
Venti is an amazing crowd control support and has insane swirls.
Zhongli has an indestructible shield.
Ei has insane energy regen and amazing damage.
Nahida has the best dendro application and is the best dendro support.
Hydro is the most versatile element, so it would only make sense that its Archon would have a kit revolving around versatility and Furina's kit is exactly that. Very very versatile.

They all have their own characteristics, behaviors and personalities that define them. Furina is there for the drama of the court, that's why she's always over the top and dramatic. She's there for a good show not a good ruler.

The Melusine Kiara from Neuvilettes story quest is the hydro archon but forgot about it.
I have a theory similar to this, so it sounds like focalors crying under the fountain, but it might not be? I do believe focalors is a triplet and how in the story teaser Lyney says “only the hydro archon will remain weeping on her throne” or something like that, if she is a triplet of some sort there is always a saying “eldest is the most mature, middle is neutral, and youngest is the most childest.” So I believe focalors is the youngest and something happened to her siblings. THIS IS JUST MY THEORY.:)

I would love that so much, I’m nervous about the quest because of the trailer about her being sentenced to death. But she’s a playable character so she can’t.
What if it’s a 3 in 1 bundle like the furina who is that main personality isn’t the archon but one of the other personalities is. Kinda like how I’m raiden you have the puppet and ei. This is backed by her kit of summoning 3 creatures.
