Auckland has a great tradition of celebrating important days for a lot of the cultures that live here. It's cool to be able to go to Pacifica, diwali, lantern festival or Japan day 😊👍the katsu was very tasty too 😁🥇
That sashimi plating is fancy! Gyoza is my thing for sure. Could it 20 in one sitting! Great video guys! really like that boardwalk by the lake at the end.
That boardwalk is really close to our home hahaha Auckland is full of those kind of things all over the place 😁👍 sounds like we're gonna have a lot of food passions in common cause dumplings are our favorite too. Let's have a Dumping off 😂
Wish we had this skills with cutting. This chef was amazing! Never heard Japan day before. Really interesting way to set the food on the stairs. So much of choices. It’s fantastic. We would definitely enjoy there!
The daikoku chefs are always awesome we've been going there for many years 😊 at night they get the audience involved by flinging egg roll at them and you have to try and catch it in your mouth 😂 we've had the stair presentation a few times at Japanese restaurants it helps which knowing which order to eat the sashimi in 😁👍🐟
Heya Walker 😊🖖 you will find that its totally non offensive and the seasoned umami flavors covers any hints of meat totally. Glad you enjoyed the video 😁👍
As a Taiwanese currently living in NZ, I can't tell you how fortunate it is that you guys are making these videos. I might be a bit late to comment but a huge part of Taiwanese culture is Japanese food and to be able to have a taste of what home tastes like (I know this sounds weird coming from a Taiwanese) is just magnificent. Too many semi-authentic but not authentic enough restaurants exist in NZ and your videos saved me a lot of time searching for them myself :)
That presentation with the staircase is interesting. Japan day looks cool and the food looked delicious. I am more of the Yen type palette so that looked extra delicious.
Japan day is a long standing event here in Auckland. Definitely a cool activity for people to check out on the weekend 😊 had so much good food this episode going back to Ajime soon for my dad's birthday yay 😁
Yeah man! Daikoku is awesome. At night they get the audience involved by launching egg rolls at them and your job is to catch it with your mouth hahaha. They also make a food train with music and everything 😁👍 the yum yum sauce is magic ✌😊
Thu while making this video we found out vietnamese made the first version of sushi 😁🐟👍 but it was all fermented fish and then Japanese started making it with raw fish 😊
Chicken Katsu = food of the gods! Did you guys film this and eat all of this in one day??? That's some serious commitment right there haha. I'm so stuffed after a good bento box it's all I can eat for the whole day!!
Hahaha hello hello 😁👍 yup this was an easy one day episode I still had room for ice cream and more sashimi no problem 😂 Japan food day always leaves us extremely happy with life hahaha 😂❤
It's quickly become one of our favorite Japanese restaurants in Auckland. It's really well priced for what are relatively very large portions. Could eat that every day for a month easy hahaha 😁🐟
Wow the snacks at the festival look pretty authentic . Hahaha how y’all know about umani I luv this!! Ur fried chicken and gyoza pronunciations is impressive
Thanks Sundai 😊👍 yen is generally the language expert in our relationship I find it hard picking up new languages or even just speaking in general 😂 had to learn all these new words for UA-cam 😂
Hey David! Yeah that's a fact we thought was important to ad. New Zealand is pretty awesome in that way. A lot of the big cultural events are free entry and it's been that way for many years. Lantern festival, pasifika, dewali and Japan day 🇳🇿😊
😂saliva inducing food! Great description. Our mouths are watering watching this. That it! We are gonna have to go eat Japanese food...u guys made us so hungry.
Hahaha I know totally how you feel every single time I watch a Japan food vlog I end up having Japanese the next meal. Sometimes I surprise myself with the descriptions 😂😂 my vocab is somewhat limited before UA-cam hahaha. Now wonder what you guys had for lunch 🤔😂
Haha liking the shorts Peter.✌🏻 Men Like the presentation of that Japanese sashimi restautant. Instagram wortht lol. Its 7am here in Chicago and im watching this lol want to go out now and eat some Japanese food lol.👍😂😂
Yay love this video guys!!! We love how Peter describes the taste of different cut of the fishes, you are a good fish critique! 👍🏻 You guys are also blessed with fresh seafood in NZ, that makes a perfect pair with Japanese cuisine, we would love to try that NZ snapper too ❤️
Thanks guys! I love my seafood 😁🐟 tasting the subtle differences between all the different cuts of fish is fun for me hahaha. Yeah New Zealand seafood really is world class so fresh and delicious perfect for Japanese food 😂👍 come to New Zealand and we can fish some straight out of the ocean 👌😎
yes another great vid. i have never tried japanese food so i will give it a try when i get to auckland later in the year. your blogs are so helpfull and informative, but wish sometimes you say what area or what road some of these places are. but as usual a top blog
Hi Barry you know that's an awesome suggestion. Gonna start doing that in future videos. We do leave all the addresses of all the places we go to in the descriptions section of the videos. Japanese food is one of our favorite cuisines hope you enjoy it after you give it a try 😊👍
Man I just spent 3 days in Japan and I had the best sushi I've ever had and the best yakitori I've ever had and the best udon and tempura I've ever had lol. I love fried mackerel!
Jealous man! We've been to Japan twice it's such an amazing country. Even the 711 and family mart food makes us happy let alone the restaurants hahaha. Your photos from Japan look very very professional 👍😁
It's such a lovely place run by a husband and wife team. The homely aspect comes out in the flavor of the food too. These are some of our favorite kind of restaurants too ❤😁
My gosh getting hungry just thinking about it! In sakura season last year we tried the most amazing thing called sakura mochi. Basically a cream mochi with a strawberry inside. The strawberry had so much tartness and the cream was so rich o my gosh making myself salivate over here 😂 can imagine sapporo sweets to be on that level.
Guys 😄 hope you have been having a great week!! That bento box looked so cute! BUT no sake from the sake bar??? The teppanyaki place looks like so much fun!! It's like dinner and show at the same time! How do they chop so fast??? Whooooaaaaaa what was that thing you ordered at the last place??? It was like stairs filled with snacks?? Haha soo good!
😂 thought about it but it was morning 😂😂😂 just didn't feel right having sake at 9am. The dinner show at daikoku is awesome they fling egg rolls at you and you needa catch to eat hahaha. The sashimi platter at Ajimi is majestic! Getting one just for myself next time 😂

Wow man sounds like you really love it in Japan. We really enjoy our trips over too. We've been there two times for some of the most memorable holidays ever. We were planning on going this year for rugby world cup but unfortunately we didn't manage to get any tickets 😥 next time hahaha saionara! That's all I can say 😂
Ooo yes that should have been on our ramen episode especially for the spicy ramen they make. I've been having it for lunch quite often since they opened up their 2nd store in newmarket 😊👍

Hey peter & yen 🙌 I luv Japanese curry lol because that's the only thing I eat! 😂😂 I luv Daikoku they are so much fun right? Man you guys really know how to hit the spot with the food! Hahaha so good 👌👏
Yooo Dollo! Hahaha if you ever go Japan you needa try this place called coco curry it's so friggin good seriously. Katsu curry from there is the best we've ever had it's a famous chain. 😊👍
Nice guys. Love that bento box with some salmon sushi. Like that graffiti. Nice ive eaten in a restautamt where they cook the food infront of you and it was awesome haha they do cool knife tricks. Food looks delicious making me hungry them finish it off with ice cream nice.👍
Yo yeah definitely man this was an awesome day! The food from all three locations was awesome and unique in their own way. Glad you enjoyed the episode bro 😁👍
Great to celebrate different cultures and their cuisine. Love the way you ask Peter to taste as he can describe it better than you Yen.....that is what I always say to Adam!! Wow what a feast at the end there guys 😋
Hahaha yen is getting much better at it 😂 I actually took out that scene at first and then she said put it back in 😂 I could have had that same feat over again straight after! It was so good I would have found extra room hahaha. Thanks for watching ❤
Katsu looks great but I gotta try making calico lemonade omg hahah. Why didn't...I think of that? I would mix like 4 shots of vodka too. Japan day seems like a super fun event. So a quick question for you guys. I have tried maybe... 8 or 9 different teppanyaki places. Honestly they all...tasted very similar to me lol Can you actually tell the difference between good vs soso teppanyaki restaurants? You guys describe the food.... so well in a convincing way haha. That food presentation at the sushi restaurant... just amazing. It's art. The atmosphere seems tranditional but the food seems to have some modern twist. I need to make friends with some hairdressers too lol. Another awesome video guys!
If you have 8 teppanyaki places all of the same quality it would make sense they all taste the same 😁 we've had all the teppanyaki places in Auckland and none of them can beat daikoku in flavor and meat quality. Even the other daikoku branches can't beat the quay street location 😊 I think what also sets it apart are the sauces, showmanship and the magical fried rice. The lil things made the big difference 😊👏👍my hairdresser the best so many food recommendations hahaha
I've been to Daikoku and love the yum yum sauce. Did you know Daikoku sell their sauces in takeaway containers? Thanks for the tip about Japanese Sashimi Bar Ajimi which I am definitely going to visit. Love your work.
Oh my goodness do they?? 😯 I loveee that yum yum sauce especially when they flame it up for a few seconds ay! Tastes so good with the prawns 🤤😋 Thank you Ngahia! Hope you enjoy Ajimi ☺️👍 If you do go, please let us know what you think!
Definitely man! Been going to Japan day here in Auckland since I was a kid. It's come a long way used to be a tiny event now it's stadium status. Pretty impressive. Lantern festival is also a major thing here in Auckland too 😁👍
Would you like yum yum sauce to top that off 😁 Japanese food is awesome and one of our favorite cuisines. For me especially so cause seafood is the best 😁❤🐟
I keep telling food and footprints and I'll have to say it to y'all now too. NYC has it all! Wanna go and live there for a while big bucket list item 😊👍
Lol that is true! The only time I got to eat it was when it was on a skewer in a festival. That skewer was pretty delicious though. Yeah Japan day is pretty big event here in Auckland all the cultural days are 😊✌
I've always seen that Japanese place in onehunga as I live kinda in the area but never been in I will be trying it out now that I have seen this thank you guys
That's awesome Joshua! Hope you enjoy it 👍 if you like sashimi I think you'll definitely enjoy this place 🙂✌️ Let us know what you think when you get a chance to eat there 👋🙂
Yeah bento box is so genius right. I love when they bring it over and you get it for the first time and it arrives on the table. The few moments while you process exactly what all the goodies are is the best 😁👍
I really like Japanese food.. :D Can you speak Japanese, Sis Yen? Nice Japan Day! Finally... Sashimiiiiiii.. Wuaaaaaaaaah OMG.. Beautiful sashimi platter, Sis Yen and bro Pet :D
Yen can speak some Japanese she is good at learning languages 😁👍 I'm no good I just speak English a little bit of mandarin too. O yes love that sashimi it's my favorite 😊❤🐟
im japanese. ajimi - agree. cheap and yummy. best japanese restaurant. ajimi owner will open new japanese restaurant call "Lantern Street Bar". you might like it :)
Oooooo awesome thanks for the recommendation! We're currently traveling around south east Asia so when we're back will need to check it out for sure 😁👍
That would be a very long list indeed hahaha. From the top of my head and being as specific as possible... ichiran, blue fin tuna sashimi, eel and egg don, melon pan, Okinawa soba, regular soba, chanko nabe, chicken tataki and chicken offal skewers and pretty much almost all of the seafood except no whale or dolphin 😂🐟👍
lovely food there guys and a busy place by rule of thumb is normally making great food lots of choices you showed at these restaurants too oh and now I am hungry and its close to bedtime oh well midnight feast then later *gave you our like 👍fully viewed 👀 AU🌟supporting each other😁*
Midnight feast is the best can go to sleep happy 😁👍 you're right, busier the restaurant the better the food sometimes in Japan we look for the long queues 😊
There is a really strong local Japanese community here in Auckland. They all really do a lot for the Auckland community as a whole great food, Japan mart, Japan day and hairdressers it's the best ❤

Hello I will be staying in Auckland in December this year and I would like to ask you what was the name of the last Japanese restaurant ? Is there a omakase restaurant where the chef prepare every raw dish in front of you ?
Hiya 👋🙂 last restaurant in this video was Ajimi (details are in the description section). Auckland has a ton of amazing Japanese restaurants and really good sashimi. We haven't come across any proper omakase in Auckland like they have in Japan unfortunately sorry but if you love sashimi and have the moolah to splash (coz it's fine dining) we definitely recommend Cocoro in Parnell, you can check out our video of them here: ua-cam.com/video/tqowxESUShM/v-deo.html it's so good but Ajimi definitely has really good value for money sashimi and in a much more casual setting 🙂👍 Enjoy!!
Icco and ajimi both have vegetarian dishes. However daikoku cooks on a hot plate with meat. So that may be an issue for you. If you don't mind that they could make fried rice and veggies.
Hi SallyG May 😊🖖 nice! Sake bar Icco is such an awesome spot. We also found out the head chef is originally from genta where yen and I used to eat at all the time. Great spot ❤
😂 one of the things I miss the most about Japan are the seven eleven stores. In particular the onigiri section. Only a couple if dollars each but they bring me such happiness. 😥 now I miss Japan 😂 🐟
Peter and Yen yep I’ve done the same...except it was £ which was worse...we to a place recommended by friends and brought like heaps of food it was so good but the bill for 3 people was £160 yikes...was good though
Heya missy 😁👋 you've been binge watching all the videos. Icco was around 15 to 17 per person for the lunch menu. Daikoku around $25 to $30 for lunch menu. Ajime price varies for what you order but we paid around $40 per person for a feast.
@@PeterandYen yeah it's good but not better than Indian food. I love biryani, chicken curry, chicken tikka, panner masala, chicken kabab all this food is delicious.

Too many semi-authentic but not authentic enough restaurants exist in NZ and your videos saved me a lot of time searching for them myself :)
Glad to hear our videos have come in handy for you! 🙂 Where's your favourite Japanese restaurants in NZ?
That presentation with the staircase is interesting. Japan day looks cool and the food looked delicious. I am more of the Yen type palette so that looked extra delicious.
Japan day is a long standing event here in Auckland. Definitely a cool activity for people to check out on the weekend 😊 had so much good food this episode going back to Ajime soon for my dad's birthday yay 😁
@@PeterandYen That sounds awesome.
That chef has some crazy good skills chopping up everything. I want some yummy yummy sauce. The beef looked tasty and the fried chicken 😋
Yeah man! Daikoku is awesome. At night they get the audience involved by launching egg rolls at them and your job is to catch it with your mouth hahaha. They also make a food train with music and everything 😁👍 the yum yum sauce is magic ✌😊
Japanese restaurants, visionary and creative; Relax and enjoy a great meal
Thu while making this video we found out vietnamese made the first version of sushi 😁🐟👍 but it was all fermented fish and then Japanese started making it with raw fish 😊
wow this looks so good cousin!!! we have to visit you guys next year and go to these places!!
Yeah lor can come quick miss you guys 😁❤ I have a rough idea where we're going next year too will send you the itinerary soon 😊
Totally agree - the sashimi bar looked like a really cool spot immediately
It's quickly become one of our favorite Japanese restaurants in Auckland. It's really well priced for what are relatively very large portions. Could eat that every day for a month easy hahaha 😁🐟
Wow the snacks at the festival look pretty authentic . Hahaha how y’all know about umani I luv this!! Ur fried chicken and gyoza pronunciations is impressive
Thanks Sundai 😊👍 yen is generally the language expert in our relationship I find it hard picking up new languages or even just speaking in general 😂 had to learn all these new words for UA-cam 😂
That’s really cool that these events are free. We often have cultural festivals where we live in Australia and there’s usually an entrance fee.
Hey David! Yeah that's a fact we thought was important to ad. New Zealand is pretty awesome in that way. A lot of the big cultural events are free entry and it's been that way for many years. Lantern festival, pasifika, dewali and Japan day 🇳🇿😊
Grilled seafood with rice is probably Maria's favorite thing to eat. Look at that chef go!
Yea that chef was amazing! So friendly too 🙂 Yen loves grilled seafood too 👍👍
😂saliva inducing food!
Hahaha mate I hope you got some Japanese food 😂 if we were able to influence the outcome of your day then that's a win 😁👍
Yay love this video guys!!!
We love how Peter describes the taste of different cut of the fishes, you are a good fish critique! 👍🏻
You guys are also blessed with fresh seafood in NZ, that makes a perfect pair with Japanese cuisine, we would love to try that NZ snapper too ❤️
Thanks guys!
Japanese food makes ME happy, too 😊 All these places look amazing!!! I lost 1k this week trading the NZD haha 😅😂😝 BUT I STILL LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
Oooo no that reserve bank of ours never behaves to how people think it should 😅 instant noodles only for you this week 😂
@@PeterandYen HAHA yup, only instant noodles this week... can't afford the sushi 😂😂😂
I'd shout you some sea weed if you were in New Zealand 😂
Looks really tasty guys. Love small restaurants like that first one!
It's such a lovely place run by a husband and wife team. The homely aspect comes out in the flavor of the food too. These are some of our favorite kind of restaurants too ❤😁
You go guys, love the channel :)
Hello hello! Thank you 😁❤ glad you enjoy our content. We will definitely keep going hahaha 👍 have an awesome weekend ahead!
We love Japanese food!! We went to Japan last summer ✨
Japanese food is amazing. Love the thought and complex flavors that Japanese put into their cooking. Want to go back there again soon too! 👌😊
Have a second home in Sapporo and if you're a foodie Sapporo is a MUST visit. Best food I've had...
Thanks for the recommendation! Next trip we will definitely go there. We've been Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe, Okinawa and Kyoto. Mmmm sapporo food... 😁🐟👍
@@PeterandYen you guys would love it! Amazing ramen and soup curry... The sweets are also on another level
Getting one just for myself next time 😂
Genkidesu ka? Sugoiiii vid! Watshiwa Nihon shoku woh taberu koto ga suki des :) Guys, lovely vid....Love Japanese food and ur vid captured it all well ! :) Arigatou Gosaimasu! :)
Hey amit you can speak Japanese??? Sweet skill to have I'll needa get yen to translate hahaha. Glad you enjoyed the episode we are lucky to have some amazing Japanese food here in Auckland 😁✌
@@PeterandYen haha Pete. I am studying Japanese during my days off, as and when I get chance. Watashiwa Nihongo no Gakkou ni Ikimas ! Eigo toh Hindi toh Nihongo wo hanashi masu! :) Yes indeed, I really admire Japanese culture and food and this has made me travel to Japan 5 times already in the last 5 years, and looking forward to a trip this year too all going well :). Great going guys, keep it up and keep in touch! Oyasumi Nasai, Amito!
Also worth a visit in Auckland is a little hole in the wall joint, Ichiban. Pretty authentic too
Ooo yes that should have been on our ramen episode especially for the spicy ramen they make. I've been having it for lunch quite often since they opened up their 2nd store in newmarket 😊👍
I was waiting for the Fact!!! 😂 The last restaurant looked really interesting and yummy!
Hey cuzzie you noticed there was no facts section this week hahaha 😁 we figured the Japan day was enough of a segway to the best part. Ajimi is amazing if you guys come visit we'll take you all there ❤
Hey peter & yen 🙌 I luv Japanese curry lol because that's the only thing I eat!
My 13yr old daughter loves Japanese food and is also learning the language so will definitely be bringing her to these places.😊
O nice! You'll really enjoy any of these spots the food is great 😁👍 just took our family to ajimi the other evening and they loved it 😍
Thank you so much, we all can’t wait😋
Im going for teppanyaki tonight!!! Cant wait to try some yum yum sauce!
Yo vic so you guys get yum yum sauce too in Chicago? Nice that's the good stuff right there 😁👍
Great to celebrate different cultures and their cuisine.
When are you guys going to go to The Clevedon farmers market? Awesome food there.
We're in turkey right now. We'll have to make the trip out one day 😁
Japan day looks fun!!!! I think we have something like this in chicago.. I gotta check it out!
Definitely man! Been going to Japan day here in Auckland since I was a kid. It's come a long way used to be a tiny event now it's stadium status. Pretty impressive. Lantern festival is also a major thing here in Auckland too 😁👍
Mmm this food all looks so good as usual!
Hey guys! Hope you're both doing well 😁👍 yeah Japanese food is always awesome we're so lucky to have such a big selection in Auckland 💎✌
Yum yum yummmmmmm!! Love Japanese food!
Would you like yum yum sauce to top that off 😁 Japanese food is awesome and one of our favorite cuisines. For me especially so cause seafood is the best 😁❤🐟
There’s something similar in NYC, when we lived there we used to go every year to the Japanese day/weekend
Japanese food makes us happy too!!!
I keep telling food and footprints and I'll have to say it to y'all now too. NYC has it all! Wanna go and live there for a while big bucket list item 😊👍
Peter and Yen It’s an awesome city for sure. Líeles is born and raised there and I lived there for almost 13 years! It does have it all
1 month in Manhattan that's the goal 😊👍 maybe 2021 🤔
also SO happy to see the channel growth my friends
Thank you! It's always good to see all the hard work pay off. The community that we've built is super awesome too ❤ very encouraging for us 😁
Food looked yummy.I'm hungry
Hahaha, that's a success for us whenever someone says they feel hungry after watching one of our food videos 😁👍 hope you get something delicious!
Fun fact, I can't find teriyaki chicken anywhere in Japan. Haha
What an awesome festival! It's pretty big!
Lol that is true! The only time I got to eat it was when it was on a skewer in a festival. That skewer was pretty delicious though. Yeah Japan day is pretty big event here in Auckland all the cultural days are 😊✌
Foodies always find right place to eat...just like we find our perfect place to eat
Hahaha yes! It's our job to find the best places to eat and show everyone where to go 😁👍
*awesome*
Loooove the intro in Japanese!
Hahaha 😊👍 thanks guys luckily Yen has an aptitude for learning language 😁
I've always seen that Japanese place in onehunga as I live kinda in the area but never been in I will be trying it out now that I have seen this thank you guys
That's awesome Joshua! Hope you enjoy it 👍 if you like sashimi I think you'll definitely enjoy this place 🙂✌️ Let us know what you think when you get a chance to eat there 👋🙂
That last place looks epic! How often do you see you hairdresser Pete? 🤣
Hahaha too much is the answer once every two weeks sometimes 10 days 😂 we have a special relationship
@@PeterandYen Hahaha... No wonder your hair is always on point, precise to the mm. 😆
Pahahaha made all those haircuts worth it 😂😂😂 when are we getting a new video from ya man I've been patiently waiting 😁
Frusssst !
The streak has restarted now that you've been pipped by David. Current record 1 😂👍
Oh heck yea i love ne some. Bento box!!! So good
Yeah bento box is so genius right. I love when they bring it over and you get it for the first time and it arrives on the table. The few moments while you process exactly what all the goodies are is the best 😁👍
US dollar / NZ dollar what about the AUD comparison! My anzac buddy 🤣🤣
😂😂😂 I'm running outta space besides nz dollar is pretty mutch same as aussie right now hahaha just use NZD! 😁
Lol Nick! What about MYR 😂

ajimi - agree. cheap and yummy. best japanese restaurant.
ajimi owner will open new japanese restaurant call "Lantern Street Bar". you might like it :)
Oooooo awesome thanks for the recommendation! We're currently traveling around south east Asia so when we're back will need to check it out for sure 😁👍
Nice one guys! The sushi staircase looks awesome!!!
So, apart from the food you had on this video...what is your favourite Japanese food, guys?
That would be a very long list indeed hahaha. From the top of my head and being as specific as possible... ichiran, blue fin tuna sashimi, eel and egg don, melon pan, Okinawa soba, regular soba, chanko nabe, chicken tataki and chicken offal skewers and pretty much almost all of the seafood except no whale or dolphin 😂🐟👍
lovely food there guys and a busy place by rule of thumb is normally making great food lots of choices you showed at these restaurants too oh and now I am hungry and its close to bedtime oh well midnight feast then later
*gave you our like 👍fully viewed 👀 AU🌟supporting each other😁*
Midnight feast is the best can go to sleep happy 😁👍 you're right, busier the restaurant the better the food sometimes in Japan we look for the long queues 😊
So theres a huge japaness communitynis auckland? I didnt know that!! So cool!
There is a really strong local Japanese community here in Auckland. They all really do a lot for the Auckland community as a whole great food, Japan mart, Japan day and hairdressers it's the best ❤
surprise surprise what a wonderful episode we love Japanese restaurants -- could you include Australiano $ exchange next time - another Sunday to come before Anzac Day Holiday in Melbourne 25th April 良い週末を
Yoi shūmatsu o
Hey Dave.. a lil mishap with the schedule has lead to the early video surprise hahaha. Nick was just asking for an aussie dollar conversion too in spirit of ANZAC but I told him that nzd and aussie pretty much 1:1 😁👍 glad y'all enjoyed the episode 😊
@@PeterandYen haha...yeah thats ok mate l i saw Nicks message :p so thought i put my 5c cheers ....heads up

Your hair stylist has good taste in food Peter!!
I've been going to him for many years and food n travel is always top of our discussions hahaha. We're always super excited to share new spots with each other 😊👌
Salmon wing sounds good!
Tastes as good as it sounds! I'm always into bony meats like ox tail or ribs salmon wing also delicious 🐟😊
Do you know “Genzui”, a Japanese restaurant?
I used to go there about a few time a week because of quality, quantity, price.
O yea definitely that's a great place too. Yen and I used to eat there and Mentatz super often during uni days cause it's more affordable and their portions are decent. Thanks for the throwback 😊❤
Hahahaha mentaz is also good
I was living in half moon bay last year and I joined the Japanese festival as a volunteer on 25,26th August
So your video reminds me of the precious memories
But now I’m in Japan
O must be nice living in Japan we have been there twice love the country! There is a great Japanese restaurant in half moon bay too I think called Gouemon haven't been there for a while though 😁 you can always come back sometime and make more memories in NZ 😊🇳🇿
Yum yum sauce!
Great name right! That guy or gal who made that name is a genius. Even before you eat it you believe it's yum 😂
wow, great footage..liked 107..love your videos....New Wave Dave
Now we all know about Peter's hairdresser 😆
Hahaha but I'll never tell his name 😂
@@PeterandYen hahaha that's the mystery 😆
Amazing
Thanks Missy! Hope you're having a great weekend 😊 new video tomorrow morning 😁✌️
Now this is SEE FOoD dieting just watching makes me full
😆😆
So the Japan stall at the night market is run by the same people as Ajimi? Or not?
Yeah man that's them 😁 we ended up talking about night markets and Japan day and ajimi mentioned they have a store at both.
Hahahah ohh I’m going to like this
Hahaha ❤ Japan we wanna come back soon waiting for our friend to propose that'll be our next trip 😊
You guys gotta head up to Tanuki's Cave.
Oh yea been awhile since we've been there! Thanks for the reminder 🙂👍
Stadium Status! Yooooo
😂👍 it's gonna bug me all day but I can't remember which Jay Z song that's from 🤔
Peter and Yen Haha it was actually Kanye “Big Brother.” He was talking about Jay-Z in it though, so you were close
😂 thank you I can sleep tonight
Were there any vegetarian options at any of these restaurants?
Icco and ajimi both have vegetarian dishes. However daikoku cooks on a hot plate with meat. So that may be an issue for you. If you don't mind that they could make fried rice and veggies.
I’ve been to the first one
Hi SallyG May 😊🖖 nice! Sake bar Icco is such an awesome spot. We also found out the head chef is originally from genta where yen and I used to eat at all the time. Great spot ❤
Yummy
Japanese food is always super yummy. Thanks for stopping by and leaving us a comment 😁👍
Just a question? Are you half Chinese half Cambodian?
Full Chinese but never done an ancestry test before so never know might be part Cambodian 😁
Could you make English subtitles please?!?!
I want to learn English and understand in more detail!
Hey mate UA-cam actually auto captions to English there is a way to turn the function on using the options embedded in the video screen. 😁👍
Peter and Yen ok I see !
Aji fry* 150 yen at every supermarket in japan
😂 one of the things I miss the most about Japan are the seven eleven stores. In particular the onigiri section. Only a couple if dollars each but they bring me such happiness. 😥 now I miss Japan 😂 🐟
$55 Aussie dollars is pretty good for all that food ...yum
We though so too! Especially since sea food is such an expensive ingredient here in Auckland. Great taste and reasonable prices = happy hahaha 😁👍
I love Japanese but I always spend too much so when I can find a good price and you get a lot I love it
We're totally the same! You start ordering like crazy and then 7 raw fish platters later you've spent 100 each 😅
Peter and Yen yep I’ve done the same...except it was £ which was worse...we to a place recommended by friends and brought like heaps of food it was so good but the bill for 3 people was £160 yikes...was good though
😂😂😂 o my gosh... well at least it was good you can leave mostly happy 😁
Price....
Heya missy 😁👋 you've been binge watching all the videos. Icco was around 15 to 17 per person for the lunch menu. Daikoku around $25 to $30 for lunch menu. Ajime price varies for what you order but we paid around $40 per person for a feast.
Awesome graffiti there!
Yeah that's a great street, just a few buildings away is our favorite thai massage place called golden fingers 😁❤
I love Indian food
It's so good! How about Japanese food? 🙂
@@PeterandYen yeah it's good but not better than Indian food. I love biryani, chicken curry, chicken tikka, panner masala, chicken kabab all this food is delicious.
