Yes, mine was so observant & aware of changes in his environment. One day he was barking at the wall. When I looked at what he was looking at, it was a new calendar hanging on the wall with Cavaliers on it. He started growling one night in bed. He was looking at a large tapestry I had hung in the bedroom of Padre Pio, a saint. I have never had any other breed that would notice things like that.
Very true. Mine watches TV, first noticing other animals or dogs. Now he recognizes music, colors etc. he barks and goes crazy running around. I have to turn off TV to get him quiet!

Cavalier is the most pleasant and kind Animal and adores his master ( my ) son and we have had our share of dogs but by far King Charles cavalier is the cutest in personality and mannerisms

We got ours in January and she is exactly like this! She is the sweetest dog we have ever had. She loves everybody and thinks everybody should love her too, including other dogs.
We have recently bred our female tri and had a litter of seven, Four tri's three Blenheims. Unfortunately, the runt passed as her umbilical cord was damaged. Sad seeing them go at eight weeks, but we decided to lower the cost for good homes, knowing they've gone to suitable homes I can focus on our new family member... We’ve kept a tri girl and have named her Maeve and we absolutely adore her. Our oldest Blenheims are six and ten. Our female (Chasmin) is a rescue after her mother unfortunately passed away due to a unknown health condition. Chasmin is partly death has a heart murmur, She likes her own space but can be extremely affectionate at times. Milo is also death and very senile. Cavaliers are a perfect addition to our family. Couldn't imagine it without.

My little girl died last year a little rescue and was called Julie.,She was nearly I6 years old. Max was my first little Cavalier met him when he was just 2 weeks old . He came home to love us when he was 2 months old.Max was I3 when he passed.We were so loved by their beautiful unconditional love.Their beautiful little footprints are for ever are for ever in our hearts. Quite simply an amazing breed. A mini version of a golden retriever in my opinion. Gentle, loyal, loving and intelligent and quite energetic too. We love our rescue boy❤
I only had outside working dogs, till little Grace hit our house. Best dog I ever had. Sadly, 12 years she was with us and passed peacefully. I just can’t replace her.

We just got a little ruby colored boy we named Holland. He has to be the BEST dog we have ever owned! So sweet, gentle, loving, smart, easy to potty train, loves to cuddle, and loves to obey. Best decision ever!!! ❤❤❤

This is all so true, I sleep on the edge of my queen size bed, no partner, just my dogs are enough to have barely enough space for myself. I used to think the snoring was so loud, now I can't sleep without it! Every time I stand up, they think I'm getting food.... there's never a private moment, ever. But this is what I LOVE about Cavaliers and they are my breed for life. All my hard work and money goes to making them happy ❤

My 11yr. old Cavie Jaxen suddenly became extremely sick with kidney/liver fairlue 4 mo. ago. Was not expecting this diagnosis so he had to be euthanized. I still cry every day. He was the best.
I absolutely love your Cavaliers and watching your videos. Their personalities and faces are PERFECTION down to their small little noses ❤️🐾 I presently have 4 Cavaliers (total now of 17) and you nailed this video on what it’s like having Cavaliers. Especially when it comes to the feeding, I’ve actually been sucker into hand feeding way tooooo many times in the past.

My gosh, you couldn't have been more accurate. This is my baby Gizmo to a T. I realize after getting him why people love dogs so much. I just can't wait to get our next one (tri-color). I am just obsessed and can't get enough of their cuteness.
As an owner of a cav. He was so beautiful, but he had so many health issues, we were constantly at the vets. Cost thousands in surgeries as well as daily meds. He died too young but apparently ten is a good innings.
It is true there are common genetic diseases in this breed. There are many protocols and tests necessary and sadly not all 'reputable' breeders follow this. Many puppy mills also claim to be responsible breeders. I have learned that a lot of research is necessary on our own part, getting involved in local Cavalier meetups and other breeders about insider info. I was surprised to find out a lot going on 😢 At the same time, I want purebreds to survive because they have their own temperament, ticks, tasks, activity level, etc. I only have two breeders I trust out of the many. It has been very eye opening and scary at the same time!
@@CavieBirdiePack i'm lucky that I managed to get my cavalier from a family friend with a male and female, she is really healthy although she doesn't seem to act like a normal Cavie 😂 she does very little crying and barking, she isn't the biggest lap dog and is just I little angel. It makes me heartbroken that dogs are kept in horrible conditions like puppy mills filled with sicknesses, and I can't imagine what it would be like without my little girl. doggos just wanna be happy and it's really sad when people dont acknowledge that.
@@CavieBirdiePack I've owned 5 Cavaliers. Four had heart disease and four had syringomyelia. Three needed patella surgeries, sometimes multiple. My heart is so broken over watching their pain and sometimes not being able to do enough for them. My wallet was emptied over vet and medication bills. Breeders need to do MUCH better for these dogs! I can't own or even foster another Cavalier now.
Many don't even deserve to be close to an animal! Some Cavaliers are extra special with their own little quirks! Love them all. Wishing a long healthy life for your baby ❤

Spot on! I have an almost 13 year old tricolor. He has a few quirks (obsessive licker and enjoys to sit near people instead of on them). Every day with him is a blessing, I’m a veterinary technician and I am known as the cavalier lady at work! He has recently tried to convince me into hand feeding him in the morning as well. Your two are so adorable! His hair gets trimmed down every few months as he’s not a fan of brushing 😂

I had a tri color she looked almost identical as yours she had the very fine white line going up the front of her head, she was a beauty! Lived almost 14 years. We put a couple of thousands for her dental. That was the only problem we had with her. I miss her soooooooo much!
Omg yes!! I’m a cav mama to a Blenheim and tri! Have had dogs my entire life but never cavs - after my first Blenheim, i will never ever do another breed ever again .. in spite of their health problems . My life changed (for the better) the miniute my Lola girl walked into my life
Oh my goodness, these couldn’t be any more true. My dog is exactly your Ruby/ brown Cavalier! However, she doesn’t ever like eating from her bowl and only eats from a hand haha. She also sleeps all dayyyy. 💕
I agree to the first two, but my pup is not interested in food alot😅 I feed her in the mornings and she just has one bite then follows me while I get ready to go. On every walk she finds a feather and carries it home, she is really into birds😂❤
Aww sweet pup! Luna was the same when she was a puppy. She was more interested in following me around and getting physical attention. She would not eat unless I sat with her and spoon or hand feed every bite!
i cannot believe uve had their beautiful furs shaven !! ive never had my baby cocos fur shaven as i think it looks just ridiculous and i rather deal with the damage of it lol! ur dogs are so gorgeous i hope theyre doing well!!^^ my coco is a blenheim and she was born on 16.02.12 and until like 3-4 months ago she was all good but now she sadly has to take heart medication as she developed a cough. but the medication is helping and she hasnt coughed since starting it! i hope she still has many many years ahead of her as shes so active and energetic
got a cavilier, his tecknically my sisters dog but as she and I still live with our parents, his really the "families dog, ha" He barks a lot but only because our parents usaully give in to him, its like his got grandparents that always give him what he wants, ha. His also likes whining a lot and feels like his trying to communicate with us sometimes, haha XD, though his also very sweet.
They really are smart when it comes to getting what they want! My dad was a pushover and would give into anything my dogs wanted. My dogs knew that, so took full advantage lol They are adorable though ❤

I love this breed so much. Lost both of ours to their bad genetics. It is cruel that the AKC won’t let them breed with another similar breed to get the really bad genetics out of them. Love watching someone else’s, but won’t do it again.
I am so sorry of your losses. They do have their own health issues, and like Louise Peterson says, not all have the best interest. I had to do a lot of digging myself in finding that one or two breeders I can trust that really do follow the protocols, not taking shortcuts, and aren't afraid to keep in touch with all past owners to provide lifetime support. German lines are known for better health compared to others. Cavalierhealth.org has an abundance of information. Yuzu has mitral valve disease, the most common disease on this breed, and she is scheduled to have repair survery in Japan March of 2021. Please keep her in your thoughts ❤
Cavie Birdie Pack I promise I will. I fed mine all natural and kept her going for 3 years, plus all the meds. I swore by dandelion greens that I added to her homemade food. She did get to 10. So with all your love yours will too. Oh and a cooling pad. It keeps their blood cool.
I have 2/ 🐶🐶 Recently started them on a raw food diet always and only adding in pumpkin and sometimes flaxmeal which isn’t a carb/ it’s mashed up seeds. Amazing results! I, use to cook 4/ them: chicken rice with carrots strings beans also yogurts ; boy was I wrong!! Their Dogs and their needs weren’t being met. Now they are!! Yippppeeee.. I am so happy you've gone raw! It really does make a difference, many of my dog's issues like dry eyes have been cured with the right diet! Also low carb has kept my dogs nice and lean, even consuming more calories than before. Awesome awesome awesome!

Our Mazie is not a lap dog, she's a side-lapper. She lays against our legs when we watch tv, or sit on the bed, or the park bench. She comes with us to the restaraunt and only asks to be able to sniff the floor beneath the tables. She lifts those melting chocolate eyes to us and says: Can I make you happy? Ahh, Mazie, mazie moo. As an owner of a cav.
He was so beautiful, but he had so many health issues, we were constantly at the vets.
Cost thousands in surgeries as well as daily meds.
He died too young but apparently ten is a good innings.

It is true there are common genetic diseases in this breed. There are many protocols and tests necessary and sadly not all 'reputable' breeders follow this. Many puppy mills also claim to be responsible breeders. I have learned that a lot of research is necessary on our own part, getting involved in local Cavalier meetups and other breeders about insider info. I was surprised to find out a lot going on 😢 At the same time, I want purebreds to survive because they have their own temperament, ticks, tasks, activity level, etc. I only have two breeders I trust out of the many. It has been very eye opening and scary at the same time!
@@CavieBirdiePack i'm lucky that I managed to get my cavalier from a family friend with a male and female, she is really healthy although she doesn't seem to act like a normal Cavie 😂 she does very little crying and barking, she isn't the biggest lap dog and is just I little angel. It makes me heartbroken that dogs are kept in horrible conditions like puppy mills filled with sicknesses, and I can't imagine what it would be like without my little girl. doggos just wanna be happy and it's really sad when people dont acknowledge that.
@@CavieBirdiePack I've owned 5 Cavaliers. Four had heart disease and four had syringomyelia. Three needed patella surgeries, sometimes multiple. My heart is so broken over watching their pain and sometimes not being able to do enough for them. My wallet was emptied over vet and medication bills. Breeders need to do MUCH better for these dogs! I can't own or even foster another Cavalier now.
Many don't even deserve to be close to an animal! Some Cavaliers are extra special with their own little quirks! Love them all. Wishing a long healthy life for your baby ❤

Spot on! I have an almost 13 year old tricolor. He has a few quirks (obsessive licker and enjoys to sit near people instead of on them). Every day with him is a blessing, I’m a veterinary technician and I am known as the cavalier lady at work! He has recently tried to convince me into hand feeding him in the morning as well. Your two are so adorable! His hair gets trimmed down every few months as he’s not a fan of brushing 😂
Awww how sweet! They want so much love and attention, they'll try anything, but they're so cute, it's very hard to say no! Many vets and techs I've met also say Cavaliers are one of their favorite breeds even with their own health issues ❤ Thank you for taking care of our doggos!

I had a tri color she looked almost identical as yours she had the very fine white line going up the front of her head, she was a beauty! Lived almost 14 years. We put a couple of thousands for her dental. That was the only problem we had with her. I miss her soooooooo much!

Aww sweet pup! Luna was the same when she was a puppy. She was more interested in following me around and getting physical attention. She would not eat unless I sat with her and spoon or hand feed every bite!

i cannot believe uve had their beautiful furs shaven !! ive never had my baby cocos fur shaven as i think it looks just ridiculous and i rather deal with the damage of it lol! ur dogs are so gorgeous i hope theyre doing well!!^^ my coco is a blenheim and she was born on 16.02.12 and until like 3-4 months ago she was all good but now she sadly has to take heart medication as she developed a cough. but the medication is helping and she hasnt coughed since starting it! i hope she still has many many years ahead of her as shes so active and energetic

got a cavilier, his tecknically my sisters dog but as she and I still live with our parents, his really the "families dog, ha" He barks a lot but only because our parents usaully give in to him, its like his got grandparents that always give him what he wants, ha. His also likes whining a lot and feels like his trying to communicate with us sometimes, haha XD, though his also very sweet.
They really are smart when it comes to getting what they want! My dad was a pushover and would give into anything my dogs wanted. My dogs knew that, so took full advantage lol They are adorable though ❤

I love our cavalier. But she sheds more than I like. Light shedder no way - but would of never give her up. Great with kids for sure
They so shed all year!! Omega 3 added into their diet has helped some but we do get fur furballs like tumbleweeds in the shedding months!
What's it like to own CKCS? How do you describe pure love and enjoyment to those struggling to find such in life? It cannot be described only experienced and cherished.
I love this breed so much. Lost both of ours to their bad genetics. It is cruel that the AKC won’t let them breed with another similar breed to get the really bad genetics out of them. Love watching someone else’s, but won’t do it again.
The AKC is NOT known for doing what is best for dogs' health and disposition......Its all about conformation.
I am so sorry of your losses. They do have their own health issues, and like Louise Peterson says, not all have the best interest. I had to do a lot of digging myself in finding that one or two breeders I can trust that really do follow the protocols, not taking shortcuts, and aren't afraid to keep in touch with all past owners to provide lifetime support. German lines are known for better health compared to others. Cavalierhealth.org has an abundance of information. Yuzu has mitral valve disease, the most common disease on this breed, and she is scheduled to have repair survery in Japan March of 2021. Please keep her in your thoughts ❤

I have 2/ 🐶🐶 Recently started them on a raw food diet always and only adding in pumpkin and sometimes flaxmeal which isn’t a carb/ it’s mashed up seeds. Amazing results! I, use to cook 4/ them: chicken rice with carrots strings beans also yogurts ; boy was I wrong!! Their Dogs and their needs weren’t being met. Now they are!! Yippppeeee.. I am so happy you've gone raw! It really does make a difference, many of my dog's issues like dry eyes have been cured with the right diet! Also low carb has kept my dogs nice and lean, even consuming more calories than before. Awesome awesome awesome!

Our Mazie is not a lap dog, she's a side-lapper. She lays against our legs when we watch tv, or sit on the bed, or the park bench. She comes with us to the restaraunt and only asks to be able to sniff the floor beneath the tables.
She lifts those melting chocolate eyes to us and says: Can I make you happy? Ahh, Mazie, mazie moo. Сладкo Мази

I have one they are really easy train, which is a major plus and are surprisingly talkative too.
