In India, if you speak to locals then your life would be much easier - like I said in your train video. If you want to avoid talking to people and depend solely on instructions/ sign boards etc and the system to function logically in general, good luck. Keep your prejudices aside, do keep your guard up and start talking to people and you will find most people will like to help in ways you would have not imagined. Of course, avoid touts and people who approach you offering services - 99% of them are bad people. regards, and once again Welcome to India.

@@aylinkko Your train ride could have been great too. You had proper tickers and you were on platform before the train arrived. There was no reason for you to travel with the guard and lose your reserved seats because of no show. That's all. regards,

Chill, dude...as if she is traveling Railways regularly in India. There would be some confusion so she couldn't understand. Why didn't you give better suggestion while travel in India to her, if u have problem, so much.
She is a guest & she is experiencing new thing whatever she understand. Coming to New country & managing things when constantly moving places in less time. Don't be so rude if she making some mistake, just guide her through comment politely.

@@mkyGTR_R35 lack of proper prior research while traveling that tooo in a big varied country like india can accentuate problems for anyone. almost everything is available on the internet nowadays. even when i travel to any foreign country i start researching about its trains, buses, boats, flights , local food, local situation , weather , about ET aliens living there etc etc etc weeks before traveling for hours and hours ,,,, even try to learn their local language as far as possible. without proper research almost anyone can have a hectic experience in major cities etc

Train travel is also good provided you talk to the hotel reception and do a little research through google and UA-cam before you select a train. Ask for only premium trains and do not book tickets below AC2 tier. Regarding getting platform number or coach position always find the ENQUIRY counter in all railway stations. Coach position is also displayed in the overhead boards in the arriving platform. India being a vast country it will not be possible to travel always through Bus services. You can get train tickets through the "foreigners quota".
    Happy travelling .

Places to eat at in Mumbai:
*1. Elco Pani puri - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai)* -
One of the best Pani puris in town. Very clean & hygienic. They use bottled mineral water to make these. So very safe to eat Pani Puris at this place.
*2. Sardar Pav Bhaaji - (area - Tardeo in Mumbai)* -
The best and the most buttery Paav Bhaaji on Planet Earth.
*3. Bade Miyan - Late night place - is open till 3 am or so (area - near Taj hotel & the Gate way of India in Mumbai)*
A late night place, patrons eat in their cars, but has a seating area as well. Famous for their wraps, Tikkas, Tandooris & barbecued stuff.
*4. Leopold Cafe (area - Colaba causeway in Mumbai)* - Nice beer, barbecues, nice desserts.
*5. Pancham Puriwala - (area - fort in Mumbai)* - 5 types of puris(bread), savory dishes & desserts.
*6. Persian Darbar - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai)*
Famous for their Raan Biryani. Delicious Mughlai cuisine. You'll love it.
*7. Mahesh Lunch home - (area - Juhu Tara road in Mumbai)* Heaven for Sea food lovers. Very clean & hygienic and you can get the most iconic sea food dishes here.
*8. Mini Punjab's Lake side - (area Powai in Mumbai)* Need to call and book a thaali(platter) in advance.
Famous for its Dara Singh Thaali - available in both veg & non-veg versions. A must try.
*9. Britannia & co. restaurant - (area - Ballard estate, Fort in Mumbai)*
Famous for its Irani / Parsi cuisine. Awesome Desserts & Sodas.
*10. Anand Stall - (Vile Parle west in Mumbai)*
A fast food joint famous for its awesome Vada Paav, Sandwiches & Dosas.
*11. Mohammed Ali road - (Area - CST - 6 pm onwards till late night)*
The whole street is filled with street vendors who sell various non-vegetarian stuff and some vegetarian too. Plus, there are some really nice restaurants on the same street. Try the famous dessert that you get only on this street in a sweet shop. The dessert is called Aflatoon.

Train travel can be confused even for local people, so its understandably hard for people from outside. There are a few things to understand about the railway system to be able to use it efficiently. It's unlike the German system which is very standardised with not too many offerings. The Indian railways caters to many different people, so they have quite a difference between different trains and classes. I'd suggest you travel 2AC with the Premier trains, and that'll make many things easier. Also, many things are not so organised as the German train system(with all its flaws). So, don't be afraid to ask around. There's a little bit of a learning curve to these things, but things will get much easier, so please don't be discouraged by these challenges(they are after all part of the thrill of travel). As you already must have noticed in Delhi, there are many nice people who'll be happy to help you out, and hostels etc are a great place for that. Also, organised tours are a great idea, they'll also allow you to have a chance to understand the complexity of things under some local guidance. [I accidentally commented to the wrong video, but I am referring to the difficult train ride you had in a different video]

unfortunatrely there is no information available for foreigners online about the train system in India + setting up an account to make train reservations is almost impossible for tourists since you need to have an address in India + there is no website that explains the difference between all the different train names and classes. Very confusing for foreigners and almost impossible to understand as of now

@@aylinkko tons of info is available on the internet/youtube etc on booking tickets online and mainly from irctc website. who told u that local address is needed ?? simple passport details are enough to book tickets along with a phone number and email id . the website of the " man on seat 61" is one of the best online. thats why a proper detailed research is required beforehand in a country with vast and varied rail networks. there are probably hundreds of foreigners who book their indian train , bus , airplane tickets online themselves and roam around easily without too many hiccups.

Don't travel to places u have negative stereotypes about. Simple as that. People observe and understand. Don't worry.

    • @aylinkko
      @aylinkko  12 днів тому

why that? I think traveliung to those places and either be confirmed by the stereotypes or being surprised by the opposite is such a valuable thing to do

It is wrong time to visit Jaipur/Rajasthan. Its so hot in most of India right now due to it being Summer. The best place to visit in India would be the Himalayan regions (Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh etc -> specifically Shimla, Manali, Darjeeling etc) and North East India ofcourse. Be careful with the heatwave

Dress sensibly and try not to flaunt your skin. You will find many English speaking people wherever you go. They will tell you safe places for your food and stay. If you are in doubt talk to a woman about what to do. If you like to have a chilled beer, please have it in your hotel room. Alcohol drinking in public places is frowned upon in In India. Welcome to the most ancient country in the world. If you stay here for more than a month, you may not want to go back!!! 🙂

may I know what your problem is? Imm talking about a really positive and surprising experience. No, I did NOT expect a super modern, on time, electric bus in India thats beats german busses in cleaniness.

In reality, train is much better option than bus, faster, safer, punctual etc. Yeah i agree for train u have to be plan things before and open ur eyes to see instructions. I can clearly see u dont plan things properly. Like u r in bus with just ₹240 in cash with u. I mean this is just stupidity tbh.
