When I was kid in the late 70s, we'd ride our bikes out to Lakeside to watch Brocky and Johnson and Moffat race. I moved back to the city a few years back and I'm now only a 5 minute drive from this track. In the 70s there were no pits, no real infrastructure other than the control tower and Dunlop bridge. The drivers had marquees set up in the inner as workshops on the grass. The bridge is gone now. It was unmaintained and became a rusty danger to all.
