I rocked up from Pommieland in 1988 and saw my first V8 Supercars and thought what the hell is this - its ace. I left in 2000 and those 12 years were mega incl the Supertourers. I am sure it was this year I was at Lakeside and by God it was hot. Oran Park used to crack me up as it was like a scalextric track..All the drivers were real caracters and by God listening to them go over the top esp on the first lap was like thunder. I just watched the 2024 race and it didnt even come close. And shout out to the commentators that were off the ceiling and memories of meeting Barry Sheene and saying how great the racing was
Wow. Great archival footage. Just one question in regards to Castrol oils. How the heck did they get around with putting sponsorships to both Holden and Ford cars. They obviously thought the each way sponsorship might have guaranteed them a win of some description. Can someone fill me in on that. There's gotta be a story behind that.
Drove laps at Lakeside two weeks ago. Still a great track, everyone needs to head down if they are nearby.
well overdue for an upgrade
What a Race!😍🔥

More 1998's, please???

That Paul Weel moment was hilarious.
Class love these cars more of the same fvh
Why are some of the videos private in the 1998 championship?
Didnt know 1998 had just ONE ROUND OF SUPERCARS.....lol.
I'm gonna turn this off at lap 20 and accept Dick won it.
This was a painful finish in 1998 lol
All that was a year before he retired. I think the 1999 Bathurst 1000 was his last race? Correct me if I am wrong.
@stephenterrilltraveller Ah righto, didn't know that. A good surprise for his home fans I guess.
