Thanks for the review, I was confused to buy it now I think its decent.
words cannot explain how glad i am that you made this video
YESSSSSHHHH!!! Been waiting for this!
The setup is so good and i love the hand reviews🔥🔥
I like the way he makes u interested about the keyboard instead of making u bored like any other tech channel ❤️
Planning on getting this :) thanks for the review
I own this keyboard... Beats anything Razer puts out, the mouse it came with is also a very solid piece of kit as well... RK earned a repeat customer with this one.
For the record my Razer Naga started to fall apart within a year
is it hot swappable?
@@mark16joshua yes
@@mark16joshuaThere's a hot-swappable version and a non hotswap version
How long does the battery last on average and what kind of switches did you get? :)
7:40
To get the secondary function. You need to press the FN key then Left CTRL key to switch into it, then press FN with those keys.
But you'll need to remember to switch it back to use numbers keys. There's no light indicator that shows that you've swapped into secondary function.
Personally I find this very troublesome, where I have to use both my hands just to adjust the volume and I got confused sometimes when forgot to swap back.
They should've make them under letters keys on right side so that you can just press FN and the keys, one-handed.
I'm currently using the RK61 but considering an upgrade to a hotswappable keeb. But my potential issue with the RK71 layout is the placement of the FN key. Would like to know if you find it difficult to find or did you get used to it over time. I usually press it with my right pinky in the RK61 layout. Thanks!
@@arvinagapay8802 I'm sure you'll get used to it. I have the RK71 and have never had any issues with where the FN key is, but I understand the RK61 FN key is in a different position and there will be an awkward transition time when first switching over.
Thank you for this. I didn't even know that was a feature. I did change my keycaps but I'll go back, look at the layout and see what other features I'm missing out on
Now that's what I call a productive comment. Thank you.
the best thing about this keyboard is
it has the normal size keycaps layout
so can be easy to find the custom keycaps to put it on~
I cant wait to get this keyboard! Nice video
When I watched your Redragon K552 I knew you were going to be a great UA-cam
I subscribed immediately.
I'm using this keyboard with brown switches and they're absolutely amazing!!
How's it working after an year?
Amazing video man keep up the work
Bought it a few months ago. Things I would add : the magnetic legs have a chance of losing the magnets, so if you use them make sure you're careful on how you put them on or take them off( or get the glue ready ). I personally don't use them, it works better ergonomically.
The battery : had no problem with it, lasts I'd say a day with lights turned on all the time (full on gaming session ), but now I keep it without the keys lights , just the sides. It's been a few days, still goes well shows no sign of stopping anytime soon. When battery goes low, the Fn key flashes a bit then lights turn off in order to make sure you still have the keyboard working. The battery says 200mah on the back of my keyboard, so I'm not sure about the ratings, but I really enjoy the battery life. Charging while gaming makes you think that it charged a lot faster than it probably did, but anyway I'd say it charges quite fast. It feels like it's under 3 hours, but I did not measure anything. It just feels fast. Also, it's always an option to keep it plugged in.
Bluetooth : read the manual so you know what to press. Once it's paired, it instantly works whenever you turn the keyboard off and on. I usually turn it off when I don't use it for more than 10 mins and after turning it back on, it works within seconds. Just make sure to keep Bluetooth active on your computer. Didn't try with phones (I mean... Who tries that ), but probably similar experience.
Switches : bought with reds, they are rk proprietary switches. It's my first mechanical keyboard, but nevertheless it feels amazing. It's a pleasure to type. Kind of addicting.
The media buttons mentioned in the video : the manual suggests that they're not supposed to work on windows, but rather in Mac mode and only on Mac OS. Fn + numbers goes to F keys on windows, so there you go for an explanation.
I remapped page up down for media inside the dedicated software, but Autohotkey can do more advanced stuff.
Overall : definitely recommend. Compared to other, more expensive options I had for mechanical keyboards at the time of purchase, this one ticks off all the boxes and looks amazing. Vibrant rgb, looks amazing at night, can change speed color, has different color animations. Just an amazing little package if you don't want a full size keyboard. I wanted the Bluetooth wireless, it works flawlessly.
So there you go, a few additional comments.
Wrote quite a bit, not going to spellcheck.
Is this hotswap
@@KarmaTweakin pretty sure it is
@@KarmaTweakin Make sure you buy the hotswap version
Does it have hot swap?
@@batmansteel778 Read the description off the product or ask the seller about if it's hotswap or not
You are in my top 3 favorite tech reviewers
Sheeeeeeesh, a straight review
this channel is sooooo underated
Im using rk71 my first mechanical keyboard, this sound reallty good, btw Im using brown swicth as well!
I'm broke and don't have a pc atm but I can say, your reviews are helpful, I bought the k552 few months ago because of you and I can say it's still working(don't have a pc to use it anymore but I used it once of my cousin's laptop)
😲😲😲 lots of features
great review
This guy is so underrated
They come out with a new keyboard every day
thanks for the review picked up the Black RED Switches last this sunday.
How's the keyboard?
@@estradalemuscarlosvictor3337 it's good for the price. Nothing faulty found so far.
@@ana303_ Ended up deciding on a gk61 will go to pick it up some hours
@@estradalemuscarlosvictor3337 sure go get that. a thing tho... if ur multimedia keys dont work on windows, download sharpkeys & manually remap it. I went with RK71 cuz i need the arrow keys. Or else id pick RK61.
@@ana303_ Oh thanks for the tip, tysm. I'll let you know tmr
To activate the volume secondary function: press the Fn button and the left Ctrl button at the same time. After u finish the volume function. Do the same as u did before to activate the normal function of these keys. I can do this on my RK68, hope that u can activate this function on ur keyboard
Really liked the side RGB, I’ve been watching a lot of customs keyboards so prob my standards are really high right now cause it sounds like it has a lot of raddle everywhere! I know it like 70usd and customs ..... well they are quite more expensive but yeah 😎
I am not first I am not last but most importantly no one asked, also amazing review you deserved a sub
@@ConsumerTechReview your most welcome also your really good at this stuff please keep it up! 👍🙂🙂😊
For me, the 70 Percent keyboards are the best form factor: 5 rows to keep my hands on homerow. The ESC key is easy to reach. It has the arrows, pgup, pgdn, Home, End, DEL, Backspace.. And I use all those in Vim. When I need the F1-12 keys, they are easy enough using the Fn shifter key. If a keyboard has over 5 rows, then its impossible for me to keep my hands on homerow. This has what I need.
70% is great, but I'm finding that I don't really use the insert button and have no idea what the pause button even is for. Do you know if we can bind those keys to do a different function or perform a macro? If not, I think 65% would be better for me.
I love this video
to use volume buttons you have to press FN+Ctrl simultaneously and if you want to switch back use that FN+Ctrl 2 times more
Already a great video a minute in
Really love the review, makes me trust Royal Kludge more. I do hope u would do a review on the RK987
The keyboard is underrated. Also nice review
Do you have it? If so hows it?
Lovely, very responsive, the keys give a nice satisfying click, and it is very easy on my hands (carpal tunnel sufferer) the rgb on this thing is top notch too.
Of all the keyboards you have reviewed, which one is your favorite?
I just bought one last week
Can you May make a Review of the HyperX alloy Origins Core or 60 percent?
(Nice Review)
Such a good reviwer and hea cute. What else can i ask?
you know what, aside from the keyboard, I want to know where you got your glasses. haha.
Please do an RK100 review :)
I have one on the way hope its good
Please make a video on full sized white gaming keyboard. !!!
I just recently subscribed and I'm hooked. Great job man! Keep up the good work 👏👍
great video! I'm thinking of buying rk MK. but can't decide wether to buy rk61 or this rk71. I'm considering rk71 for it's lighting option,, that's my only reason. can you tell me if it's worth it to buy rk71 than rk61 considering the lighting option only? or rk61 lighting is good enough? thanks!
This keyboard is quite nice for the price. One question though, how do you hit the tilde and the back quote key that is bound with the esc key?
Can i ask what keyboard is better for mostly gaming rk61 or rk71?
Just ordered one of these bad boys, I'll be sure to update yall when it comes 😌
how is it, i just ordered one??
@@katazuno The keyboard is still pretty good! Even after 3 months it still works fine.
@@naf3773 oh, thats good to hear, im so excited now
How's your keyboard?
@euph_o7 I actually got a Monsgeek M1 around 4 months ago lol
But my RK71 got bent by my sister after I gave it to her somehow.. idk what to say other than it's not too durable? But everything else about the keyboard seems fine tho. Bluetooth no problems but it's latency isn't the best. I'd prob recommend using wired If you're gaming but if you really can't then wireless is fine. Although I would recommend buying a custom keyboard, mainly because it'll last longer and a better choice overall, if you're on a budget RK is still not bad a choice.
FYI I got the dual mode (bluetooth/wired) so I don't really know about 2.4ghz connection. That's basically everything I have to say. Have a good day! 👍
LETSS GO 💪
Yay he did it
im confused with the blutooth part. ive see many reviews with this keybaord and many say that theres noticable delay when playing wirelessly and thats if playing competetivly is bad and poreffered that you use the cable
What is the egg stand on the right side of your desk? Looks really nice
Would you recommend this over the RK61?
Hello, I have a question to ask, If I have a wired+ wireless mechanical keyboard, but then I prefer to use it on wired mode daily, is it okay for the battery health? is it going to overcharged?
Wish he had more subscribers
I have this keyboard, the stabs aren't great, but overall it's not bad for the price. Mine is different from yours though, i got a plastic keycap puller, and white on the rgb side panels
Is it better or equally good as the red dragon k552?
should i just buy rk61 or is it worth it to buy rk71?
Are the switches hot swappable?
Are there any indicators if it is fully charge other than the space bar flashing 5X? it is very easy to miss especially when im not using it. Older models turns the space bar red when fully charged, but mine does not.
Which one you prefer better after reviewing both, the rk71 or the rk84?
Is this better than the red dragon k530 or k630?
Hello, I wanted to ask about switching from dongle mode. I am unable to connect my RK71 USB C cable to any other device as mine is broken, leaving me with the dongle as my only option to connect to a device.
I have this keyboard. it is amazing. so good, I prefer to use it wireless
I have blues
dude I cant pair it bluetooth help me would you
Some ppl say there's a lot of latency does this affect this keyboard in gaming ?
So many people called this on your post lol.
Hey bro will you compare benq ex2510 with viewsonic xg 2405
I got rk71 as my first mechanical keyboard, the build quality is great and the rgb on the white one is so vibrant and colorful. It cost me around 45$. However, if you are confused between Red and Brown switches, I would definitely recommend Brown switches. The Red switches in rk71 just feel like membrane keyboard and the sound is terrible.
Edit: However the red switches are so smooth and so good for gaming as you don't have to press hard for a key.
Does it come with a dongle
@@jeffbautista4942 No it doesn't.
How many switches are on this keyboard? Might buy this for Christmas
in your opinion which keyboard is better rk61 or this keyboard
can I play on this keyboard trough the cable? Im wondering because if not I have to but a bluetooth connector
please help how do i change my song from my keybaord the fn key just works with the function button but not the extra buttons on it
Do you know how to bind macros or change certain key functions?
Came for the keeb review, stayed for the cute guy lol
What do you meant by the volume secondary doesn't on PC? Meaning you cant change the volume of the PC or?
Since its white. Does it turns yellowish after a few years of usage?
I am confused between rk71 and redragon k599
I don't want to do any modding and and want good typing sound.
hi, my keyboards number keys dont work, they are mepped to the function keys. how do i change that?
is it advisable to charge while using it?
Great review! What mousepad are you running on?
Can anyone tell me where to get that knife? I’ve been trying to find it for awhile.
hello may i ask where can i find the printscreen button here i tried fn+pause it doesnt work
i have seen this keyboard on banggood with red switches, is that the same keyboard ?
Hi there, first of all, just want to let you know that your vids are really good, informative and enjoyable. I'd like to know what RK means with 2-mode rgb and 3-mode rgb variants... I mean, don't they all have per key rgb?
same question
2 mode means it only supports wired and Bluetooth connectivity. 3 mode has an additional usb wireless 2.4 ghz(im not sure if the numbers are accurate) connection when you don't wanna use bluetooth
@@vanessatalaboc7711 thank you!:)
Will I be able to swap out the switches?
Isn't that too much of noise? I getting started to know about keyboards and stuff and need to buy one. A silent mechanical keyboard is all I need
media controls work for mac, just press Fn+S
Can you use the keyboard with the cable?
How many seconds before the lights turn on when activated?
excuse me may I ask that if the keycaps are interchagable?
Does this keyboard have gateron or cherry switches?
mines stuck in the F mode example: F11 how can i fix this?!?
So does this keyboard not come with the usb cable?
Team Browns!!
Do they have standard key size and space
Does it have 3-pin or 5-pin switches?
