- In this video I install an after-market CDI and figure out the wiring and details to see if it works.
Should fit all Honda 70 models.

Thanks very much for the video. I bought the same product for a Honda Trail 70. Your video is very helpful! 😊
Great to hear Don. There are so many of these little Hondas that I hope this trick keeps them running another 50 years! Thanks for watching.
Nice to see old bikes restored and improved on. Definitely a fun bike to own. 😃
Glad you enjoyed it!
Had one just like it as a kid, wish I still had it ❤
I Got a Honda C70 cub engine for my ancient C50. To my surprise this engine had no points but CDI which I had to adapt to the wiring of the 1960s C50. I needed another type of coil and then some. Your video helps with the project. Thanks ..
Awesome... hope you get many smiles! Cheers.
Thanks for the video and the links to the parts. i just bought a non-running 1974 Honda XL70 that I'm planning to restore. I am planning to do pretty much the exact same thing you have done to yours. I was considering the 100cc big bore kit, but I have to do a little more research before spending $515.00 with shipping. Again, thanks for the video and the links.
Wow great paint job and I love the Honda wing and side covers!
I actually painted them myself. Home Depot sells a new line of spray paints. Behr "Luck of the Irish Green" is nearly a perfect match. I clear coated the decals with 2k two part clear coat to make them fuel proof and then wet sanded from 400 up to 2000 grit. Then 3 stage Meguiar's polishes. Looks like wet candy when finished.
Lots of work but fun to see the results. The 88cc Big Bore kit from DRATV is really worth while too.
Cheers! -Kirb
Freaking amazingly beautiful lil bike :)
Thanks for watching!
well done nice work
I have a yamanha 1971 I would like find a inginition electronic to change you know what kind I can buy?
I don't know of one that will fit your bike. Thanks for watching!
Nice work! Where did you source your new tires?
I get them though a local shop, Outrider Motorsports (760) 631-8446. They are Shinko 241 2.75 x 14 and 3.00 x 16. The front tire should be a 2.50 but we couldn't find that width.
@@cramersclassics Thank you sir!
Sweet
Cdi makes points obsolete by miles.
Could I use that CDI on an Outboard Motor?
I'm not sure. You could try it, may take some creative wiring.
Cool bike love the Honda’s 👍🏻💯
I restore old yams , I’m not that big but those little bikes , too small for me 😎
