I bought a new 1988 Bronco. Loaded XLT, regatta blue with white top. LOVED IT. Drove it over 235,000 miles. Regretfully let it go in 2003 for an Expedition.
The 2021 Bronco takes its styling cues from the 1966 Bronco. Much the same way Ford did with the 2005 Mustang and the 1960’s Mustang. Cool comparison video!
Hard to believe this vehicle was released around 5 years before you were born and I was still in high school, haha! I know it's hard for young people to get down with the old school Bronco but you did really good in driving and explaining everything, lol 😄
If you acrually measure the new one instead of going by info on the internet you will find it's much smaller but ford ncluded the spare tire and fender flares in their dimensions.
That 1988 Full Size Bronco Is a Short wheel. base F Series Pickup The New Bronco Is based Of The 1st Gen All Full size Broncos 1978-1996. Were short Wheel base F series.
I sure wish that Ford built the new Bronco like the 1966 - 1977 broncos in size . For did get it right with the Bronco II .in size . If they only kept that size into the new Bronco . It did not need to be fat and big like it is .
Yeah these are a bit bigger than a Wrangler even. But in todays market they just have to comply with regulations and things for safety. So there's only so small they could have made it most likely
They can make small cars ! They can built the Bronco's smaller and still be safe . But small cars in the mid 60's and up to the 90 was smaller than the cars we have today . Even the fiat is fat .
The new Bronco I think uses a framework similar if not based on the ranger platform, a Bronco II and the original first gen might be a cool comparison.
How ironic I just saw an identical BRONCO to the one in the video earlier this week. It is the ONLY 2 DOOR BRONCO or B.S. in COS, CO. All others no matter what color or trim level are 4 DOOR.
The size of the new Bronco is kinda in between the original/Bronco II, and the Full size Bronco (like the '88).. the new one in this video looks big because its a Badlands trim, which has bigger tires and sits higher, my Big Bend would look even smaller than the 88..
After awhile it can get a little annoying especially if you are out on the highway! Nothing wrong with it, but to drive it everyday, it's pretty loud...and you know what I meant :)
I'm sorry. The new Bronco is based on 1977 or older. The Bronco you're driving is not a straight axle it's a twin beam. My 78 bronco would be a closer truck to a new Bronco. I've driven every year Bronco. Thos sucks. Good luck on this comparison.

Wow that's cool! Must have been pretty neat to buy a new one back then!

Yeah I can see that for sure! That's probably the best looking retro Bronco I'd say!
Glad you enjoyed the vide!
I have a feeling OJ Simpson would love the new Bronco, especially in white with black wheels. Reminds him of the good ol times! 😜
haha probably! More power to drive away from the cops :)
@@BrosFOURRSpeed OJ wasn't even speeding the last chase in the white Bronco in the 90s. He will get better fuel economy with this new one though. 🙏
haha ;)
That 88 will still outlive the 21
We'll see
It does do what the old one does, just modern
Very true. Just a nice rugged SUV!

haha yeah! Cool SUV to check out!
Have an 1988 bronco love it
That’s cool! Broncos are sweet!
NGL, I prefer the first Gen broncos over any newer generation.
They are pretty cool for sure!
Great video! Thanks for doing that awesome review
Any time! Fun checking out the old Bronco vs the new one!
Love the vids keep it up
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Cool checking out the old Bronco!
The 21 bronco resembles the first gen bronco
Yeah that's what it looks like. Super cool design and that was a smart move!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed think they did a pretty good job reimagining the bronco I’d buy over a Jeep any day
@@theworsthokage3015 I agree! Yeah we've done the Jeep side by side with this. Bronco is such a better vehicle
If you acrually measure the new one instead of going by info on the internet you will find it's much smaller but ford ncluded the spare tire and fender flares in their dimensions.
I feel bad for wut yt algorithim has done to the channel yall were and still r my fav channel
What has it done!? Thanks for the continued support! We are continuing to bust out daily videos and bringing as much content as we can!
It's much more similar looks wise to the original 1966 - 1977 body
Yeah that's what I'm seeing. That one definitely looks the best for the old school Broncos.

Thanks for sharing! The Bronco is a sweet SUV!
The new Bronco is on a Ranger platform
The New looks like a future price vehicle
Yeah the new design is cool!
just looked at the dealers web site prices on his 2021 bronco resales ...
Yeah this used 2021 Bronco is priced with the market. So it's in that high 90s

@@jeffmullinix7916 Yeah they just wouldnt work well in todays market
The new Bronco I think uses a framework similar if not based on the ranger platform, a Bronco II and the original first gen might be a cool comparison.
Yeah this is based on the Ranger frame. Would be cool to check out some other older Broncos
How ironic I just saw an identical BRONCO to the one in the video earlier this week. It is the ONLY 2 DOOR BRONCO or B.S. in COS, CO. All others no matter what color or trim level are 4 DOOR.
Oh cool! I see more 4 doors! I’d buy a 4 door but the 2 door is cool!

Nice!!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the Bronco video!
Its styling is based off a 60s bronco
Yeah. This 88 is what I had to work with. Not every day you can film a new Bronco with any older one
I really love Bronco's. Old or new. ❤️💯
But if I choose the transmission, I will go for manual transmission. Of course, old or new. 💯
Yeah the manual is awesome to drive!
enjoy your day everyone 🤓
You too!
I'll stick with the Ole I love my 88 with the 5.0 motor those new ones engines are trash
The old model is definitely cool! But I love the newer model much more! Glad you are enjoying yours!!
I'm definitely in team new school but it's great to see the old classic. Nothing about the old school makes me want it haha. Great review!
I agree! The old things are cool to check out and see what they were like. But I like the 2000's and newer for sure
That 351 isn’t massive it’s just a small block Ford
It's massive for what it is compared to modern vehicles.
If you think the 351 is massive, look at the ford 460 big block from the f-250 and the f-350 of the time.
Who wants to drive a V8 with sound dampening?
Note: not only did you miss the armrest you also said "manual locking diffs up front" not hubs
After awhile it can get a little annoying especially if you are out on the highway! Nothing wrong with it, but to drive it everyday, it's pretty loud...and you know what I meant :)
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Ya highway is a little annoying. I have an 89 5.0L myself, it has the 5 speed with the overdrive.
NEITHER of the other Bronco body styles had 7 GOAT Modes though
Yeah it's super cool to see drive modes on the new Bronco. Drive modes didn't exist back in the day lol
Back then, your drive modes were high and low gear.
@@OBS4ever16 Ouch ! Chocolate or Vanilla. LOL
The one on the left is an icon, the one on the right is a joke
That’s what you thought after driving it? One on the left is cool, but I’d take the new one all day.
@BrosFOURRSpeed I own 9 old broncos from the 70s to the 90s. I just feel like the new ones hardly represent the legacy the old ones created.
@@mikeyocain so you haven’t driven one?
Glad you enjoy those..
@@BrosFOURRSpeed nope
@@mikeyocain hard to say it’s joke with no experience with it.
The new bronco won't last as long as the 88. And if you put them in to the test i bet the new one will break before the old.
Why do you think that? Any reason?
They did not have locking differentials on the 80s 90s Broncos they had locking hubs
Yeah, pretty sure I said that.
Old Full Size Bronco's Are Way Better Looking, That New One Is Ugly!!
I'm sorry. The new Bronco is based on 1977 or older. The Bronco you're driving is not a straight axle it's a twin beam. My 78 bronco would be a closer truck to a new Bronco. I've driven every year Bronco. Thos sucks. Good luck on this comparison.
ok. Im just comparing what I have access too.
🥇
Thanks for checking out the Bronco video!
👍
Thanks for checking out the Bronco video!
After 30 seconds yeah you don't know Broncos , that's the OJ Bronco, do your due diligence and compare the new one with the proper old one. DUH!!!
Kinda hard to actually get the original Bronco. This is what I had to work with
That is actually not the oj bronco. His was a 93 and the 5th gen. The one in this video is a bricknose 4th gen bronco.
