The device is definitely worth it for the money for several reasons and I woild definitely pick it up over the Z flip and iPhone 14.
@@Mr._Fit_Atheist Apple and Samsung started the cheap trend of only putting a cable in the box. Battery life is actually pretty comparable to other high end phones, the Power G8 is made to be energy efficient/lower end.

Motorola outdid themselves with this design. It looks so much better than the previous models and looks cleaner than the Z Flip 5 leaks/renders. The dust resistance rating is also huge considering the issues hinged phones have had. Very impressive

Yeah, I think this is where I finally hop on the flip train. I've held out long enough. This looks well built, durable, and the features are what I would expect in that price point. I was thinking of waiting on the cheaper one, but no, I'm sold on this one. That outer screen is actually useful.
The flip phones aren’t a gimmick at all, idk what your lifestyle is but let’s assume the following, if you’re a gym rat, hard worker , maybe you play sports . Etc this is an amazing phone . Even if you are actually just an android fan it’s an amazing phone. Motorola is built very well and they built this phone better than most people think the main selling point is the portability. You will be surprised how small the phone is when folded and it makes it good at nighttime if you sleep with it in pocket or put it up somewhere

Did you get this phone? How has it held up?
@@OldManPhil I bought it back in Nov 2023, and still using it to date. It has held up just as fine, it feels solid. The center crease is starting to show a little wear, but it isn't really noticeable and can't really feel it. The hinge is still working flawlessly. No drops yet, but it takes average abuse well. I was worried I had cracked the outer display when an air hose went haywire at work and the coupling hit it in my pocket pretty hard. It was fine. Honestly, it holds up as well as a regular phone, maybe better since it has that gorilla glass or whatever its called these days.
I did have an issue develop after a month of use, when I was still treating it with caution. A pixel in the very top right corner went bad {not dead), and it slowly has spread in a circle. As of now it is barely covering the % on the battery at the top, but you can still see through it, but looks tinted. I could send it in for warranty, but I am used to it now lol. That's really the only issue I have had. Oh and it is still a Motorola product, so it does glitch and lag sometimes.
Overall I give it a solid 8/10 on a flip phone scale. I feel confident that they will only get better from here, and I am impressed with the quality as of now. Hope this helps.
Edit - I would like to add I picked mine up on sale for I think $699 or $799, and I feel it is worth the sale price. I don't think I would spend full price on it, isn't that good when compared to flagships, but sale price is totally reasonable.
@@loitersquadX I've had mine 7 months now, and it has adapted almost perfectly for my lifestyle. I don't really use the outer screen as much as I imagined I would, but it is still useful for quick things like changing music, discreetly responding texts, putting it in a 'V' on chest to watch videos lol. Having half a phone in the pocket is awesome!
In all honesty the moto razer looks much better than the z flip 5 leaks imo
If I'm taking a picture or video unfolded on the large display does the picture or video show on the external smaller screen as well? Also looking for recommendations for screen protectors and cases. I have mine on backorder at the moment so getting hyped while I wait.

Does it has the same issue with accidental pocket dial to 911? Is "Emrgency button" displayed on the outer screen and if yes, is there a way to disable it?
Have any recommendations for good cases and screen protectors?
This is the first phone that's felt futuristic to me in a very long time. I'm coming from Sony Xperia which already has a long screen (and side mounted fingerprint reader) so I would feel right at home. Hopefully it has good multitasking. And yes, finally someone says it - who needs ultrawide? I'd rather have a 3x zoom, but i do realize that takes more space. Still I'm REALLY impressed what Moto is doing this year, not just this phone, It's a contender. It's available through T-mobile, so I'm going to a store tomorrow to see if I can try it myself.
Im also hopping from Sony Xperia (love Sony, favorite phone brand ever), and I dont care about the camera that much because I have a Sony A7 cam with far too many lenses. This phone feels kinda cyberpunky for me, like futuristic and the potential is great.
I'm hoping for Sony as well... I had all Xperia 😢

How is it that boxes we get in India come with a 33W charger?
Biggest issue with this form factor gaining the larger front display surrounding the camera is that dust gathers entirely too easily between the lenses. I think they need to go the route Samsung did with the camera not being cut out inside the display.

How's the battery? I owned a Moto G play and the battery swelled within a few months of owning it so I bought a Moto G power and not even a year later same issue as the G play...
But were you able to play that OSRS on the front display?
Does it make a noise when flipping/Opening the phone?

Awesome phone. Samsung has been put on notice. Also, Apple needs to get their act together and create a Flip or Fold phone soon.
Agreed! I don't apple will ever go down that route! They stick to the same old recipe. Not dissing them, but innovation is not their strong suit. I've been an Android user for about 6 years now. My last iphone was Iphone 7 plus
I really think Apple will create a Flip or Fold. There is a famous Steve Jobs quote where he says a 4” phone is as big as anyone needs. Apple was certainly not the first with a larger screen.

This is the first phone in a LOOOONG time that actually seems fun and exciting. I haven't been sold on any type of folding phone until I saw this while looking for my next upgrade. I initially wanted something pretty cheap, then i saw this and had to look into getting it. Got mine ordered now and waiting for shipment..Rogers here in Canada actually had a really decent deal, $600 CAD for the phone over 2 yrs. A steal for a phone with this amount of tech packed into it. Canada doesn't usually get fuck all for cell phone deals so I'm happy to see a good one on this phone already. I Cant wait! its been like a decade since I've been genuinely excited for a phone upgrade.

I switched from an LG Wing only reason i was hesitant was the cameras but after watching a few reviews regardless of what they said i was honestly impressed with it but its completely different from the pics you see from actually having the phone i enjoy the camera the ones on the LG wing were fantastic and in my opinion the Razr+ cameras dont disappoint everyone has their opinions and the problem is to me i feel after you take a photo i also feel the screen on which you view them could make them look a little better or worse i feel the Razr+ takes photos like the LG Wing more natural color photos all Samsung phones including the flip 4 from what ive seen kind of saturate the photos and they look good but to me its vibrant but its not the natural color in my opinion i just cant stand when the reviewers try and compare the Razr+ to anything but the flip phones like in my opinon you cant compare it to the standard chocolate bar phones not even foldables because of what they have to work with when it comes to putting parts together, like the cameras, the quality to me on the Razr+ is great the zoom not so much but they can only fit so much camera in a small design so they make compromises I took photos with the Razr+ and iphone 14 pro two completely different phones both in my opinion produce great natural color quality photos but obviously when it comes to zoom im sticking with the 14 pro cause its a standard bar phone with more capable cameras for zooming but when im taking just a standard 1x or .5x photo they both look equally great in my opinion every one has their own views and opinions at the end of the day and this is mine

@@waltervega8730 They were great cameras in my opinion I honestly couldn't switch to any other phone until I found the Xiaomi Mi 11 ultra but my wife dropped her pixel 6 pro so I gave her my Mi 11 ultra to use and it suffered the same fate sadly so she got the s23+ I had gone back to the Wing and then saw this RAZR+ just release did my research and made the switch and I can honestly say I'm very happy with the device only problem I've experienced is RCS chat acting wonky after switching but that could just be a Google thing. I still have the Wing as a back up just in case
I miss my wing are they still doing updates for it?
@@dorsey61ify it’s still a great phone in my opinion and I believe in April I received the final update to android 13 security update wise I’m not sure
You mentioned that the crease was nearly non-existent, but you hadn't even folded the phone for the first time. I'm wondering, did the crease actually show up after using it for a while?

I'm waiting for my phone tomorrow although I love it already I'm upset that a charger was not included didn't realize it after I purchased it and saw a video saying it. They should've included a charger. Then for the price the least T-Mobile could've provided was fast shipping and on top of paying 353 as a down payment they wanted 14 dollars to get it in two days not 1 so I refused to pay the 14 dollars. But they need to do better. Next time I won't purchase as fast. They got me this time cause my phone is messed up and need a new one fast. Still looking forward to the phone
The only 2 things holding me back from just buying this rather than the flip 5 is 1.i dont think the motorola has 5g, and 2. The water resistance on the flip 5 is supposed to be much better. I guess i will wait for a comparison video between the two, but damn ive been waiting for foldable smartphones to get better, and i think theyre finally at the point where im happy to buy one over a conventional smartphone
Edit: I didn't realize there was more than "one type" of 5g. I don't live in metro area, so scratch that concern.
I do believe the moto will have 5g and yes the water resistance will be better on the flip 5, however the dust resistance will be better on the moto and will probably have the best dust resistance than any other flip or even fold phone. Having said that, we are more likely to have to deal with dust than water, unless you go to the beach or pool everyday, then the water resistant one is probably better. But normal everyday use, dust is more likely to get in non dust resistant flip phones

Great presentation. I presently use a Moto G100 very good phone no issues in 2 yrs. Tho it's big and somewhat bulky with a good case. As o 3-5-24 Moto has this phone at 700, very good price and offers a trade in

5:09 - Uh uh. Noooo way man! The fact that the most necessary buttons of the UA-cam app are covered up by those cameras makes this an IMMEDIATE downgrade from the previous models outer displays.
I’m sure they could try to update that but right now? No way.🤦🏾♂️

I'm seriously considering selling/trading my Z-Flip 4 for this Razr. If only for the lack of software bloat compared to the Samsung OS.
Also, I'm thinking I will like the size ratio better on the Razr because the Z-Flip 4 just seems too wide in my hand.

I would never choose the razr+ over the iPhone 14 pro max. You should have kept the 14 pro max and had both of the best phones.

Good review. I got it to replace my Z Flip4.
However I did not like it, and returned it.
- Build quality not as good as Samsung.
- The "Settings" options and menus for My UX are very limited when compared with Samsung. This means it can't be customized as much/as well as the Z Flip 4 (or any Samsung Phone running OneUI).
- Cumbersome app navigation.
- I thought sound was not a loud as the Z Flip.
- Cameras are better than Z Flip's cameras (which are terrible), but not by much.
- Overall, Razr+ feels like a kid's phone, at least to when I compare with the package presented by Z Flip4.
I hope you'll review the new Z Flip 5 to see if It will deliver real improvements that will make the upgrade worth it!

I got the Razr and a week later I'm trading it back in. I had a Google Pixel 6 Pro and the performance of the Razr was sub-par. AT&T is letting me return the Razr and I'm just upgrading to the Pixel 7 Pro.
Same here. Had a 6 Pro and returned the RAZR after 2 days. I have no idea why, but the phone just didn't feel...right? Something was off and it was bothering me and it probably was me not being comfortable with opening the phone every time I needed to use it.

Can the refresh rate be adjusted? Or is it set from factory at that rate? I've found using my flip3, that unless I'm gaming, 120 saves on my battery life(which was never great to begin with).
The Cameras kill it for me, I want the best camera experience until my next refresh which is usually 3yrs these days, shame...

Meanwhile the 2020 Razr I bought was $1400 and had way less features and wasn't put together nearly as well

@@tobiasecarvel8268 ahh that must be really frustrating. If it's any consolation, no big brands are selling cases for it here so the one in the box is the best we can get. From what I've seen online, you have options from Zagg and Tech21 but they're not selling them in the UK 😠

Yes still a good phone and you can find them for around 300 to 500 great condition.

Yes, finally somebody commented if an app stays open on the front screen when you put the phone away for a while. This was my biggest question, because owning a z flip 3 is a pain in the ass when grocery shopping or for google maps foot directions. Because when I am in the store I constantly check my shopping list and having to constantly open the phone to check it is awful. I just need to turn off the display and when I wake it again to see that f**king list right away. :D Same goes whent walking and getting directions with google maps, like I have to check if I am on the right route frequently.
Not sure who else has thought of this but the outer screen is larger than the original entire iPhone screen

The Samsung flip screen is only on the top edge of their phone, including the camera area. I definitely consider this an improvement!
Is anyone else having an issue with the bluetooth? mine will nooooot connect to my fav earbuds the galaxy earbuds pro 2. It recognizes all other bluetooth devices ive connected to it and my earbuds work perfectly on all other phones ive had and tablets no problem

google maps should have a lot less menus bars. even on my s23 ultra I still get annoyed by it.
I tell u though my heart jump ls everytime someone flips the phone really fast and hard. After a while that has to cause some damage on the phone cause something to break where it will not stay open. So yeah I will be opening it gently 😂
9:24 its because the lack of space inside the phone, specially a flip phone.
I figured it is a physical limitation. But in that case someone needs to figure out how to get even a somewhat useful zoom lens added because its disappointing to see it missing on every flip phone I use & review
@@ShaneSymonds it's even more impossible to have a zoom lens in a flip phone with bigger front screen without either sacrificing on thickness (which normies don't want) or sacrificing on battery.
The plus already has less battery than the normal version by 400mah due to the bigger front screen.

The Flip 5 will dethrone it. It has the software support, and will have a better camera.
Exactly..I see too many reviewers comparing the Razr plus to the the Flip 4. it’s not fair..once the Flip 5 comes out then we will know which is better. But the phone is nice, but I will wait.

Why do people always have to have the best of everything. I made up my decision way before the flip 5 came out and after seeing loads of videos on both phones I still like the motorola better. The camara doesnt matter to me, it still takes decent pics. All the other things that the samsung is supposed to have better wont sway me. I chose the motorola and I am sticking to the motorola.
