This show blew me away in its first episode, when I didn't even think I'd like it. And now I can't wait for next week. Iman IS Kamala, and the music, and the family dynamic, and obviously the SFX... I am now holding this show to a higher standard than most D+ MCU shows.
9.5/10.
Iman was born to play Kamala. She's so good. I'm loving the show so far. I agree that Kamala's grandmother is a dreamer like her. I think they are trying to hint that the bangle originated somewhere in the grandmother's family line. Probably a Kree artifact of some kind. Maybe her grandmother is Kree?! That would be a twist. We'll find out soon enough. I'm excited to see what she can do with her powers. They are very different, but I think she is still stretching and embiggening under that cosmic energy. I went through a couple of the trailers and looked at frames where she's using her powers, and it definitely looks like there are physical changes happening to her body. We'll get a better look as the episodes go on.
Also, I don't know if you noticed who that was in the end credit scene. They are Damage Control agents. The male agent is the same one from Spiderman: Now Way Home. Agent Cleary. He was the one who interrogated Peter and Ned at the beginning of the movie. I'm interested to see what part they play in the story. I can't wait for next weeks episode. Great reaction as always.
It is sad that people felt the need to review bomb the show on Imdb like they did to Captain Marvel. I hope The Marvels film takes shots at the toxic fans.

So far, all of the reviews I’ve seen have been absolutely positive as I’ve enjoyed it myself. Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel are my favorites up there.
It's okay though, people are dumb. Captain Marvel still made over a billion dollars at the box office! Unfortunately, haters are usually the loudest voices but the box office don't lie. This show is fantastic and The Marvel's will probably be great as well!
What a great opening to a show. The acting was brilliant, such a refreshing look and feel. Both of your passion for this character was great to see and hear in your reaction. Really enjoy everything you guys do, thank you can’t wait for the next one.
I am digging this show so much, but nobody mentioned that when Kamala was showing what Carol might have been up to, it had an animation of Carol Danvers doing Fight Club.
This show was a breath of fresh air. Fun and upbeat, though down to earth.
i didnt realize this before but when you pointed out the cockatoo in the opening i put it together: is it a bird? is it a plane (the jet)? no it’s captain marvel!
Speaking of spider-verse. Isn't Kamala Khan friends with Miles Morales in the comics?
The certainly are.
The cockatiel in the animation at the start was probably a reference to The Inventor, who was Kamala’s first supervillain in the comics. He was a clone of Thomas Edison with a cockatiel’s head. Seriously.
I thought it was a reference to Captain Marvel's hair and headpiece. The cockatiel was shown first then a jet 🤷🏽♂️
There may be more hidden in it, but I took it as an homage to the line "It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!"

That was by far the cutest reaction to that amazing show! The makers of this show nailed it perfectly! As a 3rd generation Muslim who lives in europe, I feel proud about Iman and how she is portraying Kamala! Subscribed and left a Like! Keep going with your reactions!

The male agent in the after credit scene was the agent that brought in Peter in No Way Home! I bet he’s a skrull or kree and recognized the tech emanating from her band as kree tech possibly ..?
She's perfect for the role, and apparently a huge comic nerd as well! She had the same nitpick with Multiverse of Madness that I did - the MCU should not be 'Earth 616'. She even called Papa Feigi out on it.
She’s wonderful, you can see how passionate she is in her interviews and her love of the genre.

8:33 This scene gave me 4*Town vibes from Disney's Turning Red! It's probably just a coincidence, but Kamala and Meimei asking their parents to go to a concert/convention look very similar. Nothing wrong with that, but I figure this must be a common situation for second generation children growing up in a land their parents didn't. Both Kamala and Meimei's parents (mother's really) seem to be afraid that their daughters are becoming too "western" and as a result they become overbearing, pushing their respective child away.

I really enjoyed this first episode. I hope it's able to keep up the same energy all the way through. It's hard to believe that this is Iman Vellani's debut role! She's a natural and very likable.

In the animation sequence in Kamala's recreation of End Game, the cockateel is an easter egg of Ms. Marvel's 1st villain that she deals with in the comics. A guy with the head of that bird.
There is an old saying along the lines the no plan survives first contact with the real world.

Why is Kamala allowed to be out on rooftops alone with Bruno at night? It was completely dark outside during that scene, did she sneak out then too?
Maybe a different context for seeing him possibly. Not a party, or anything that would require parental consent. Just “I’m going to hang out with Bruno”
