In this video, I document the fitting of a cheap new brushless esc and motor, as well as the receiver and servo. This little upgrade gives punchy acceleration, higher top end and (most importantly) longer run times. I've gotten approx 25-30 mins on the 2600mah 2s from banggood.

Excellent guide to converting to brushless setup, don't know if this helps anyone but apparently the LC racing motor mount will fit which gives you the adjustments you need on the motor mount so no need to modify it.

@@stekeel6993 although it's possible to fit it, the bearing won't line up properly with the centre shaft and you will end up breaking it if you run it like it.

Hi GaminGit. Nice job on the upgrade video. I chose to go with the DumboRC X6 2.4G 6CH Transmitter with X6FG Receiver, your 2838 / 4500 kv motor suggestion w 35Amp ESC. . Do I really need the Racerstar LED Program Card for that 35 Amp ESC ??? or is it 95% likely factory settings on the motor / esc will be OK out of the boxes??

    • @GaminGit

Factory settings would be just fine mate - The program card is just nice to have for tinkering :)

G'day mate, very nice program thanks for your time, what size motor did you change to and esc, would a Surpass Hobby 3660-2600kv motor & 60 esc be quicker, or as quick as a Hobby Fans 3650-3900kv motor & 60 esc do you think, thanks champ Pete Australia

do not put the brushless on this car, the motor is too powerful for the gears and the weight of the car. After 3 or 4 uses you start to see the first damage in the play of the tyres, arms and axle

Jesse B Motors thanks, yeah. I’ve tested it some more since the video and it really is quite rapid now, I’m well pleased! Also with the lighter motor, the chassis doesn’t bottom out on the ground now during landings which is a nice added bonus.

Great video! Why didn't you switch to smaller 17t pinion instead of the that larger stock pinion?

Oof, sorry to hear that mate - This one is still going well, it has developed some cogging, but I think its just cos it was a cheap ESC - Might take it to the skatepark and annihilate it soon :)!

I think it can handle more current and the most lipo battery and charger have xt60 connectors :)

Lewis Gill I mean, it’s pretty quick on 2s as it is, I’m sure it will absolutely rip on 3s but it will also put extra strain on the drivetrain too.
