    I love it when people push out heavy, slow, and unaccessible websites built on these drag and drop builders.. Makes it easy for me to sell 5k-30k websites. While it may seem like I am bashing, I am not. It is a good place to start, and certain small businesses with only 1k budgets, this option works great for them. Once the businesses are ready to build a scalable platform, that is when they go to actual web developers. So start here, but don't stop there, learn to code, learn website accessibility, learn SEO (even if you are not working as an SEO, you still HAVE to know the tech aspects of SEO to build a GOOD website.) and learn how important it is to have lightweight, fast websites.

    • @CreateaProWebsite
      @CreateaProWebsite  6 місяців тому +2

      This is a really good comment. I agree, this is a perfect place for beginners with a small budget to start, but it is important to continue to learn more about scaling your website and making it faster and more streamlined. Unfortunately, with easy-to-build platforms like Elementor, comes a slower website with all of the accessibility attached to it in a sense, but it is the best way for beginners to learn how to make one from scratch without being frightened away with a bunch of hard coding. Just have to pick your poison I suppose.
      Thanks for sharing.

    I mean, if I build 10 websites and make some mockups and showing on my website could be work? If I get clients I Will replace the the fake websites for the real ones one by one.

    I have a question about domain names. Is it a good idea to buy the domain name for your client? If i buy it would that mean that i own it? Shouldn't be better for them to buy it themselfs?
    Thanks Levi

    • @CreateaProWebsite
      @CreateaProWebsite  Рік тому +1

      I would recommend that you let them purchase and sign up for their domain name registration and hosting plan. You can definitely help them through the process of creating their accounts and then just ask them for the login afterwards. Great Question.

    I asked a local daycare if I could do some PR work for them as an unpaid intern. They wanted a website so I created a website for them on wix. I did offer to be unpaid and I’m fine with not being paid for my help. But should I ask for compensation for the website? Just to cover the costs of officially publishing the website & purchasing the domain name?

    • @olga_c
      @olga_c 3 місяці тому

      Definitely! I make websites for charity and nonprofits and they buy hosting and domain. We do Wordpress which is quite cheap when it comes to hosting, don't know about Wix though

      @@olga_c Thanks, I did request that they cover the hosting & domain costs. They haven’t really responded back to me about it. Seems like they were hoping I would pay for everything, run/maintain everything and they do nothing on their end. The initial reason I wanted to help was because of how much potential the center has to be successful & the childcare staff are amazing but it comes to crappy management. Management doesn’t really make the effort and they drop the ball in a lot of places : /…now I’m feeling like it was a good waste of my time lol

      @@KaylaG92193 Hi! Maybe some waste of time, but it was a valuable experience and now you know that everything must be discussed with the client before you start working for them, even if it's for free.
      If you'll continue making websites, first tell your client what domain and hosting is, and how much will it cost. If in the process you discover that any additional paid plugins or subscriptions are needed for that site, make sure to contact the client and discuss if they pay for that or you simplify the website to avoid paying.
      Also you might want to explore different technologies and hosting plans, so you can offer low budget and charity clients the cheapest option available. (In that case, don't forget to mention the prices of more expensive options, so they know you're saving them money 😊)
      As for the daycare website, I'm sure Wix has a free hosting plan with some limitations, but you can still post the site and show it as an example of your work for the future client.
