See I new there was something I had liked about Digi alot still to this Day Haku is my favorite. Him an other characters like Jakotsu got me into traps.
Man, it's crazy. Me and you were both born in '91 and, listening to these stories, we've had a ton of the same experiences. I remember when the Walden Books in my local mall would always have "buy 3 get 1 free" sales on manga. And my mom would go clothes shopping and give me money and I'd always leave with a bunch of manga. It really reminds me of the story you told. Of course, you're much more knowledgeable in the medium than I, but I guess it makes sense why our taste is similar. I respect your opinions a ton, and it's just an added bonus that we seem to be similar in our experiences in the past. Keep up the good work, Digi.
Please don’t spout nonsense, this guy can’t even compare to someone like super eyepatch wolf or giguk. Allan Moore’s already attained godhood, this man hasn’t even contained his ego
Yes, Tatsuki! I was also really pissed off when she got written out of the story, especially since she had such strong connections with Ichigo and Orihime. I still think the series kinda went downhill once they hit the Soul Society, even with a lot of interesting characters being introduced there were just SO MANY new ones and at the end of the day, I really cared about Orihime, Ishida and Chad. As far Naruto, I quickly lost interest after the Haku/Zabuza arc, but... yeah, Hinata is hard to pass up.Most of my experience with Naruto was purely the video games, honestly. I remember sitting through what felt like 50 training episodes of Naruto in my college's anime club and that was enough for me to leave the club and never go back.
Digi, you're about to hear somebody say Bleach is still great. I absolutely agree with your points about the pacing, though. It is really painful reading week by week... Anyway, the series has had some rough patches, to be sure. However, if you were enjoying the series all the way up to the point where you stopped, there's no reason why you wouldn't still like it. This ongoing arc has had some great moments, and the fights are enjoyable with a variety of interesting abilities and designs (everyone knows Bleach is totally an undercover fashion show), more so if you read them all at once. I'd totally understand if you never get back to it, but I think it'd be a good idea to give it another go once it's over. And it does seem like it will be ending sooner than expected.
People SAY that when looking back now that it was past it, but I think when people should really saying that for was at the Amagai filler arc first started up and when Toonami replayed the whole thing when Grimmjow and Ichigo were finished fighting or were about to. If it's the anime, of course. Manga, it really is because of the week by week reading's fault.
Nick Fedorov soul society was the last really great arc. Everything after has cool moments despite being poorly structured and highly recycled, is relatively bearable. Up until Fullbringer which had nothing redeemable and later 1000 year war arc which was even worse than that.
Nick Fedorov Soul Society was the best arc and there is one ok arc after that, but the second of roughly seven arcs being the best by far and the two last the worse is a huge problem. But the major problem with Bleach was when the soul society arc was displayed, it happened too early. In the end of the second arc Ichigo was already as strong as the capitains, had a bankai and hollow mask (and his companions remained weak for almost all the series, oh shit)... No surprise they came with all kind of shit to make Ichigo more powerfull.
Hueco mundo shits on soul society...its way better improving on it in every way but because it came after it doesnt get respect because it seems similar and fans grew up by then and learning of the captains world was so new it clouds the flaws that arc has....obviously anime fans quit and got annoyedb by filler and pacing problems after soul society so the manga fans enjoy it more after but to be fair Bleach story wise was always trash...that's what people realized after the generic cliches first 2 arcs cause its the same stuff...friendship power up generic villain ichigo saving people next...guess what just cause it was new to you as a kid doesnt mean it holds up...it was the first arc of its kind for you to experience so you enjoy it for nostalgic purposes but if you rewatch it or watched it after seeing a few more anime like it you would have realized soul society sucks too...the show always was meh but at least ichigo vs ulquiorra waw cool as shit...ichigo is so bland...rukia was the only one with personality and she loses it ans screen time pretty quick...this show is a bad yu yu hakusho ripoff
Hinatas entire character is not meant to be physically strong but internally morally strong her power is in her pure words and heart....if you didnt get that your an idiot...shes too kind in nature for that kind of power...her power is persuasion through guts and staying true to herself and proving that gentle way is right no matter how society tries to change you or tell you your wrong and give up...she didnt quit or give up who she was...her love is true and what the entire series was about...how love can make people do crazy things but in the end love conquers all...
I'd be really interested to hear you talk about shows you've watched when you were younger, how your opinion was then and how it changed over the years, if it did, I don't have any specific show in mind just whatever you could think of.
I've watched a lot of anime but Naruto and Bleach are still great to me, but I'm a shounen fanboy so yeah. One piece and Gintama are my favorite anime.
Bleach will always hold a special place in my heart as it was my first anime and being restricted to dubs Beacuse of my lazy eye making it really hard to read subtitles, I think the cast was good and jonney young bosh will always get a thumbs up from me but the show is meh now
Hi Digi, here's the suggestion you asked for: I know you talked briefly about Sailor Moon in the past, but I've never heard you talk about those in detail. Or any other Ikuhara shows for that matter. I know you finished Utena, and watched part of Penguindrum and Yurikuma. Would you care to talk about those, either in vlog or edited video?
The part where you talked about the fatigue of waiting was really on point. Because the reason I watched Naruto was it has stacked up so many chapters and episodes, that even when it was stupid powers and spectacles towards the end, it didn't bother me. But when you wait for the next stretch of action week by week, it really made the pointlessness of the whole thing sink in. I think the most peole that stuck with it are the ones super attached to certain characters. By the end of Naruto's arc nearly every side character got a fanclub. Oddly enough, I've actually found myself respecting Naruto once I distanced myself from the show, especially after I started getting into the sakuga community. Throughout its run the anime churned out some very technically genius stuff, and its production alone really make me appreciate anime as a whole.
I'd be interested in seeing an analysis of good long form shounen anime versus bad long form shounen anime. However, I understand that it might be something you couldn't possibly do without months and months of prep, writing, and editing, so I'm okay if you don't want to do that.
Going to admit that one of the main reasons to this day why i watched Naruto was for Hinata. Even so far that i sort of fell of the serie a while ago. But then when i heard what happens at the end (and in the movie) with Hinata, it made me pick up the serie again (didn't hurt that i could skip tons of filler at that point)
I remember aikoarisaka420 was the reason specifically I dropped naruto because he said "he's a ninja in an orange jumpsuit" and 12 year old me thought that was stupid
Thanks for that little flashback at the beginning. I was obsessed with Shonen Jump (and Naruto in particular) back in the early-mid 2000's. Bought a lot of graphic novels, some of which I haven't read since middle school, because of it. I was never the guy who walked around school wearing an Akatsuki headband, though.
Loving these vlogs! I feel a bit vindicated hearing that you like Bleach. You're right about the pacing-- I thought it fell apart in Hueco Mundo... when I started reading week by week. Whoops, it's obvious looking back. It would be cool if you did a vlog on Heartcatch Precure. It's one of my favorite magical girl shows and it's the only Precure I've watched start to finish so far. You talked about it a little bit in the Phantom World video, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on the series as a whole.
I really like your vlog videos. I also like your Touhou figures behind you. Will you be able to put out a vlog where you discuss how you discovered Touhou and what you think of its current state?
Naruto is something I watched and grew up on. Then I decided to stop watching shippuden and read the manga. So far I feel like after the pain arc all tension/story plot seems a bit bad after a while. There are some good and bad but overall I do like it.
I completely understand your stance on both shows. On reddit however, theirs a post where a guy is editing down all naruto episodes into like 72 episodes (including shippuden and original). It's called naruto Kai and I'm excited to see it finished, since I dropped the series a long time ago.
I asked him once on reddit, he said that he likes it a lot but that everyone else will probably say everything before he gets to it. He is a "big fan," though.
The great thing about Naruto (and other shows with huge casts like it) is that there's somebody for virtually everybody to relate to. I still have a soft spot for Haku...
I've always felt the same way about the week by week reading/watching. It's a completely different experience when you run through the material at your own pace. With one piece, I purposefully get like 50 episodes or chapters behind so that I can watch more material at once. Otherwise it's just not enough.
If you still have any semblance of curiosity as to how the Naruto story ends you can always play the ps3/4 videogames. They offer a summarized but effective version of the story and work as fun fighting games.
Naruto and Bleach were my gateway into anime (and i also kept up with both manga for a while), but unlike other fans who say that they "went downhill" at some point, i now kinda maintain that they were always bad (at least the anime; i've never read the early parts of either manga) and i was just not as critical when i was younger. Like, both of these properties have a lot of cool and fun ideas, and that's great the first time you experience them, but i don't think any of them ever had particularly great storytelling, and eventually the novelty has to wear off. Ok, maybe the Zabuza arc was a pretty good story. There's not much else i enjoy going back and watching in Naruto though. Except the Rock Lee vs Neji fight. Rock Lee's story was so bloody great because 1, he is a much more endearing main character than Naruto and his plight is a lot stronger and better presented, and 2, it doesn't overstay its welcome. But Bleach is a lot closer to my heart still. I think it is even worse when it comes to story. It's all just a giant excuse for cool fights. Save this girl, save that girl, put a million obstacles in the way. It's the most generic story an action show can have. But the thing Bleach has going for it _so_ hard is how fucking cool it is. All the character designs are cool, all the art is cool. All the superpowers are cool and inventive. In the anime all the music and sound design is great. Now that the manga has concluded i actually do want to finish it, because it was always enjoyable to read, even when if just to make fun of it. I think there is some kind of genious in Kubo to manage to make something so entertaining while containing so little substance. People keep talking about their Berserks and FMAs or whatever, but if there's one anime i would like to see remade with great animation and good pacing it would be Bleach. It is _that_ cool still.
basically the same for me , but i cant agree with you on the part which anime should be remade with great animation and pacing, i would ahve picked berserk or bleach casue berserk just fucking deserves it at some point xD
Yeah, going back to Naruto and Bleach, I really enjoyed them when I first discovered anime (Around the age of 13-14), and I'm very glad that I watched them, but I couldn't watch them now. I'm just glad I started reading Naruto so long ago, so I had to wait for weekly manga releases instead of biweekly anime episodes until the show ended -_-
It is good to hear there are people who watched a lot of anime can still like Bleach. Most of the time Bleach is like the guy that always gets bullied so other people can look cool (elitist). I watched Bleach in 1 week time and after many years of watching anime I consider it to still be in my top 10, even tho I also can't remember most of the character names. So it is great to see someone who also watched a lot of anime could appreciate and like Bleach. I also love all your vlogs recently, so keep up the great work!
Hey, someone that wants to go back to Bleach because I remember it was actually pretty good. I was wondering if the anime follows the manga closely or should I just read the manga because the anime is really different?
Arisa Ayamo The animation for Bleach is very consistent and the canon episodes don't have much filler. If you skip the non-canon episodes (because they are terrible) you are good to go.
+_Ghoul_ for my money, Bleach was decent up until the hueco mundo arc which was a horrible slog to get through. I don't think the fullbringer arc is as bad as some people say it is, and the war arc is ok. It's not by any means one of the best series I've seen overall and tbh I agree with a lot of the criticism about it, shounen series have problems with large casts all the time but the way Bleach does it has been the most unsatisfying to me.
+deadlywork Fullbringer arc was great at first. The problem is that Japan hated, so Kubo had to rush to its conclusion and throw in the Shinigami at the end to try to save the tanking ratings. It's really a shame because Bleach was finally starting to get back in form after Hueco Mundo. The war arc also started off great, but then started to suffer once it became Hueco Mundo 2.0. However, I do think it's really picked up again. The main problem for me now is the pacing... +_Ghoul_ I may not be quite as critical as Digi, but I've watched my fair share of anime, and I still enjoy reading Bleach. I do wish the anime would come back because some of the recent fights would look fantastic animated. Not to mention, I love to hear new music for it; Bleach always had a great OST.
keybladesrus I have actually read that a lot of problems with how the Hueco Mundo arc turned out was because of editorial pressure to show off more Arrancar and Soul Society members. It backfired spectacularly. In that sense it's not really fair to blame Kubo for everything, but regardless of who was at fault I found myself very frustrated with it and the Karakura Town Arc, and I read it for the first time ever like a year ago long after it was over.
I'd recommend reading World Trigger. Very nice shonen story about a military organization versus alien invaders from an alternate dimension. The fighting in it are very heavy with tons of strategy, teamwork, and has combatants actually going for kills, since they are fighting with artificial bodies, they can go all out without worrying about killing off characters. And a very good underdog story of Osamu having realistic growth of his skills that isn't based on power of friendship or pulling hidden powers out of his ass.
Hey digibro, have you considered doing a video about inuyasha? Or even going back to it? It's not nearly as long as the big 3 and ended like, forever ago. Plus, it's my favorite anime series of all time and I'd really like to hear your thoughts about it, seeing as you actually have some experience with the series, and no one does in-depth anime/manga analysis vids quite like you do, IMO.
Interesting thoughts, Digi. I like hearing your stories XD P.S. Digi, not to bother you, but I'd love to hear "scattered thoughts" on Shugo Chara, as I've heard you talk about it before briefly, and it's my favorite! I like to say that was my real start in anime/manga because that's when my love for it really took off. And now, my dumb thoughts on Naruto and Bleach below the cut XD If anyone's interested. Don't mean to spam (unfortunately or not,) Naruto and Bleach were the first animes I saw, mostly just because they were easily accessible on TV. So, yeah, I'm used to the dubs. I liked Naruto, and it was fun until it reached that one arc (I don't remember--it was one of those "there's these kinds of people now. how interesting. now we have to beat them all up) because, literally, the episodes were just "I'm staring at you. I'm staring at you. I'm staring more fiercely at you. TO BE CONTINUED NEXT EPISODE" (they were fighting in a cave or something. maybe after shippuden??) But Rock Lee was my favorite; I practically idolized him, as I really just admired his dedication and story as a character. I had all the trading cards of him XD I really liked Bleach, though, because, to me, it had a lot of character and a lot of interesting concepts. It felt much more "mature" compared to Naruto in a "literary" sense. For example, I really love the "Memories of Nobody" movie. It really hit me for some reason. I got interested in Bleach because of the fighting game for DS, though haha and I really liked all the different powers and characters. It had really great episodes (Halcyon days) but then did lots of filler arcs, though I oddly didn't mind them so much because the concepts of the "these are the new kinds of people. oh, how fascinating. let's beat them all up" was somehow more engaging than in Naruto. (It's been too long since I've seen episodes, but I want to get back into it) The last episode I saw was, oddly, back in 2012 and that was before we got rid of TV at home. It was the arc where their swords like come alive or something? It had something to do with their connecting with the stories of the souls that inhabit their swords and learning their stories and accepting them. It inspired a big novel for me XD Yeah the only problem with Bleach is that it's so confusing with the episodes and that and I have no idea what is what--especially because all the episodes' titles are just numbers >.> embarrassing kid moment: I thought it was the coolest, most rebellious thing that I was watching Naruto, which was PG, on my own without parents' permission XD I was like 14 lol. Bleach, too, because it was tv-14. But I had to close my eyes a lot, as I'm not good with too much graphic violence...
I always felt guilty when I got in to anime and manga in about 2008/09 and didn't know much about the big 3. I knew all of the important parts and could pick fans out at conventions but that was it. Watching these huge series turned in to more of a chore and a challenge rather than something to enjoy. And like you said, the pacing gets drawn out
I watched through all of bleach in order, after the anime had finished and i liked it. Watching it without having to take long breaks is probably the reason i liked it.
Why? Part one was a nice little story, to be fair, but part two had its head so far up its own ass it can be forgiven not touching with a ten foot pole.
RWBY always seemed like a good topic I'd hope you'd discuss. Whether you call it an "Anime-influenced animated web series" or "American anime", it's definitely different from what we've normally seen. There's definitely an amateur flair to it, but it's made improvements over time and became a big hit. Even managing to get an official Japanese dub and manga.
You're definitely right about reading bleach all at once... I read a shit ton of it (farther than you, but I don't remember their names or the name of the arc) There are some things I can patiently wait for but bleach isn't one of them. I think once bleach ends I'll read it start to finish as If I was marathoning something on Netflix. With fast reading (~3 mins/chapter ch1-675 would take under 34 hours).
Latest arc of Bleach has been a little bit all over the place, but it's mostly been great. A bunch of backstories have been fleshed out, and there have been a lot of cool new abilities shown.
+Pokefreak911 The Bleach anime doesn't have the worst animation, but I don't think I am unbiased enough to judge the animation of it. The soundtrack is awesome though.
After the land of waves it's not really something he says in the dub, I like to think that Sasuke mockingly saying back to him was the reason he stopped 😂
Honestly bleach has to be my favourite read ever. I think I once read around 10 volumes back to back in the soul society arc and Ive NEVER done that before since I like to fully understand a panel and reread speech bubbles repeatedly until my brain fully understands and digests whatever I’v read
I'm trying to go through all of Shamen King and I would like to know your thoughts on it. Ultimately though I think it would be interesting if you did a video on Shonen stories as a whole. Analyzing the failings and success of the genre. Shonen stories are how I got into manga and anime initially and I don't think enough people talk about them in an analytical sense.
This is interesting--I'd love to hear your scattered thoughts on the horror genre in anime (since you mentioned Higurashi). I rarely see it get a lot of attention, even though I find horror anime more interesting than horror film. This is probably becausee they don't seem to be bound to horror cycles like films are. They're pretty few and far in between compared to the other genres as well--so much so that I find myself enjoying what I would probably consider to be poorly written shows if they weren't horror, just because they're different enough to be interesting.
Naruto will forever be one of my favorite shows. mostly because its the show i was most into when I was a kid and Its how I got back into anime when I was like 14.
You're so right about bleach! The moment I had to read it week after week is when I lost interest! I'm still gonna finish it eventually, just to get that sense of closure
Sometimes I feel like I've missed out by not really getting into any of the big three in my younger years. I watched a bit of both One Piec and Naruto about 10 years ago but I dropped them both in a matter of less than 20 episodes. I know it's something I'll probably never go back to and I don't really want to either, but it's always something I'll be in the dark about while being an anime fan. Since you asked about whether we have questions about your opinions on older stuff then I'm wondering about your thoughts on Casshern Sins. I actually came upon a review of it made by you, but then after some time seeing something was off about the writing I realized it was six years old. Was wondering what you'd say about it now.
Hey man, do you mind talking about Eureka Seven? It was one of the shows that got me interested in anime and I think it would be great to hear your thoughts on it.
I've watched Naruto mainly just because it's been on Toonami. I've tried to get into multiple times, but I just can't. I can stand leaving it on when it comes on, but nothing about it really sticks with me much. I honestly don't even know if I can tell what's supposed to be filler or not because I hardly ever care that much about what's going on.
It might be cool if you made a video in this format about a series from your childhood that you used to be passionate about but can't make a proper analysis of. As far as a more specific request, maybe cardcapter sakura or gunslinger girl?
"Bleachh is a true story because it really happened to me. One day I drank bleachh and went on a spirit quest to the reaper world. Where I ran from a giant bug faced baby eating obrien and became a substitute soul eater just like in the show. I was the only person who could cross the border into mexico and defeat the evil lord gringo bandito. I made it with a hot senorita and prevented 911 by defeating Vincent Volaju on the side of the world trade center. After that though the trip got kinda bad"
You've mentioned it a few times recently, and I know you have a couple older blog posts covering it, but I'd like to hear about your experience with Ranma 1/2. Has your opinion of it drastically changed? You seem to know the anime pretty well, but have you read the manga? If you have, do you think that the series suffers the same problems of the series mentioned in the video?
Naruto and Kingdom Hearts AMVs, you say? Back in MY day, everyone made AMVs out of Dragonball Z (specifically the Cell Games arc) and the PS1 Final Fantasy FMV cutscenes!
+Zelkiiro DBZ amvs you say? Back in my d... you know what I know exactly what you're talking about. Every AMV pretty much had the same 4 or 5 bands blaring in the background. It was tough when you wanted to watch a certain fight from a show and it has Linkin Park blasting over it.
+Zelkiiro The very first clip I ever saw of Naruto was from a AMV and it's what got me into the show and anime in general. Also I watched lots of Advent Children AMV's back in the day.
The art for Bleach is so gorgeous and I loved watching how it progressed throughout the manga. That's one of the main reasons I love it so much. Also, the sense of humour is so quirky and it breaks up the darker parts.
I followed the manga for both Naruto and Bleach up until about 2012ish when I realized keeping up with both felt more like a chore. Both have their moments, but i don't feel that those moments are worth the hundreds of meh chapters you have to sit through. Now, I just watch the highlight clips on youtube after the anime catches up, and maybe read a couple of the relevant chapters for context.
i remember hikaru no go being in those shonen jump magazines, and some first chapters for stuff like Legendz, Whistle, Beet the Vandel buster...good times.
I remember back in high school our band camp got canceled for a few days and I spent that time watching Naruto filler on youtube because I found out you could actually watch anime on the internet (it had just never occurred to me to look that shit up on youtube before)
"I was a little boy who looked like a little girl"

i forgot how Jesus looked like, so i came to this video.
I'm so addicted to your vlogs dude keep it up!
Yeah I actually look forward to his vlogs even more than material on his main channel.
You look like you should be the drugged up frontman in some 60s band.

Watching Digi's slow transformation into Alan Moore
Please don’t spout nonsense, this guy can’t even compare to someone like super eyepatch wolf or giguk. Allan Moore’s already attained godhood, this man hasn’t even contained his ego
The manga ended for me after Aizen was defeated.
We all love these vlogs digi so we hope you keep doing em!
And nice Hylian Shield off to your side

People say that bleach went downhill after soul society ark because it was the point where anime became plagued with long and boring filler arks.
+Uzumaki “うずまきナルト” Naruto
So was Bount arc actually good?
People SAY that when looking back now that it was past it, but I think when people should really saying that for was at the Amagai filler arc first started up and when Toonami replayed the whole thing when Grimmjow and Ichigo were finished fighting or were about to. If it's the anime, of course.

I've watched a lot of anime but Naruto and Bleach are still great to me, but I'm a shounen fanboy so yeah. One piece and Gintama are my favorite anime.
So many people hate on Bleach because it's easy to hate on with there not being an anime. It's definitely not as bad as people make it out to be.

The show has been over for years lol
@@aarOuOn Your point?
@@undertaker9991 Well, "now" implies the show is still running ...which it's not (although they're bringing it back)
@@aarOuOn .......
+Sunny Dong Seconding all of these!
Also I'm kinda breaking the comnenter rule, but I'm on my phone and I can't really edit anything, so please pardon me.
it's kind of nice to listen to you remember and laugh about stuff
10 years ago today after leaving high school, I watched Mahou Sensei Negima. I rewatched it today and still enjoyed the experience.
I'd be interested in seeing an analysis of good long form shounen anime versus bad long form shounen anime. However, I understand that it might be something you couldn't possibly do without months and months of prep, writing, and editing, so I'm okay if you don't want to do that.
Do you think you might end up monetizing your blogs? I honestly wouldn't mind. They're interesting to hear.
+Deretto Alexiel - I do monetize all of these vlogs, at least by way of youtube ad revenue.
+Deretto Alexiel You might have that ad blocker on, or NOT whitelisted for this channel.
I don't like telling people I enjoy Naruto, because I feel like people instantly start to judge me.
id pay to see digi as a trap
Chunin exam was the best part of Naruto.
which was copied from the hunter exams from hunter x hunter
+Micah Bost Still good though
*****
I haven't seen the Hunter Exams, but I loved the Chuunin Exams.
Imo, the Chunin Exams, Sasuke Rescue Arc and the Pain Arc are the best of Naruto and Shippuden
Copied in terms of what kind of tournament to use, but incredibly different in how the stages were implemented. As well as the ideas put into it.
Sees title
Aww yeah here's a subject I know a bit about 😎👌
I remember aikoarisaka420 was the reason specifically I dropped naruto because he said "he's a ninja in an orange jumpsuit" and 12 year old me thought that was stupid
Keep 'em coming- can't get enough Digi content.
Will you be able to put out a vlog where you discuss how you discovered Touhou and what you think of its current state?
does anyone else find digi constantly making videos about subjects you love to hear him talk about?
I'm waiting for a favourite lolis video.
Keep up the vlogs man, they are very addicting lol.
"I've gotten addicted to vlogs and nothing can stop me."
*GOOD*
"I've gotten addicted to vlogs and nothing can stop me."
I'm glad? I love listening to these.
Yo digi
I don't know if you are gonna see this but
Thoughts on berserk?
I'm curious about this too. I would love to see him do a video on Berserk.
+will jordan from the way he's talked about it he likes it.
I'd like to see this as well.
Salute! lmao
Fucking Shaman king man. I loved that stuff.
Interesting thoughts, Digi. I like hearing your stories XD
Don't mean to spam
(unfortunately or not,) Naruto and Bleach were the first animes I saw, mostly just because they were easily accessible on TV. TO BE CONTINUED NEXT EPISODE" (they were fighting in a cave or something. maybe after shippuden??)
But Rock Lee was my favorite; I practically idolized him, as I really just admired his dedication and story as a character. I had all the trading cards of him XD
I really liked Bleach, though, because, to me, it had a lot of character and a lot of interesting concepts. (It's been too long since I've seen episodes, but I want to get back into it)
The last episode I saw was, oddly, back in 2012 and that was before we got rid of TV at home. It was the arc where their swords like come alive or something? It had something to do with their connecting with the stories of the souls that inhabit their swords and learning their stories and accepting them. It inspired a big novel for me XD
Yeah the only problem with Bleach is that it's so confusing with the episodes and that and I have no idea what is what--especially because all the episodes' titles are just numbers >.>
embarrassing kid moment: I thought it was the coolest, most rebellious thing that I was watching Naruto, which was PG, on my own without parents' permission XD I was like 14 lol. Bleach, too, because it was tv-14. But I had to close my eyes a lot, as I'm not good with too much graphic violence...
Id absolutely love if you did a scattered thoughts about princess tutu!
lol I remember the Naruto AMV phenomenon. There was also a bunch of Dragon Ball AMV's. I'm so happy you brought that back to my memory
I always felt guilty when I got in to anime and manga in about 2008/09 and didn't know much about the big 3. I knew all of the important parts and could pick fans out at conventions but that was it. Watching these huge series turned in to more of a chore and a challenge rather than something to enjoy. And like you said, the pacing gets drawn out
You reminded me of Shaman King and nostalgia hit me hard, thanks xD
I watched through all of bleach in order, after the anime had finished and i liked it. Watching it without having to take long breaks is probably the reason i liked it.
Does that t-shirt have Tsukasa and Kagami in Evangelion outfits? That is so cool!
Yes Digi, just embrace your inner Vlog Demons
After 6 years , Naruto is still my favorite.
Followed closely by FMA B and Evangelion.
I feel bad for Digibro for not being able to watch naruto
You make a surprisingly valid point for bleach' S pacing
Kenpachis gotten some awesome moments in the last arc dude
I did Inuyasha and Naruto AMVs for 3 years because I love music and I love those shows (still do), so AMVs were my way of practicing video editing.
The "Believe it" thing dies over time. I believe the Shippuden dub is pretty good (even if the story itself is downgraded from the original show).
Naruto gains the phrase you know instead of believe it and it works...he doesnt say either phrase fornover 240 episodes so
After the land of waves it's not really something he says in the dub, I like to think that Sasuke mockingly saying back to him was the reason he stopped 😂
Just became a follower. Digging your beard dude
This, make it happen, Digi
Have you ever gone in depth about your thoughts on FLCL? (Not just animation, but the "hidden metaphors and meanings.")
It'd be cool to hear about shaman king, I don't THINK he's talked about it much at all before but I'd love to hear his thoughts.
Please talk about the Soul Society Arc of Bleach!
I hope my descendants get to read the final chapter of One Piece a few centuries from now.
Loving the discussion type vlogs.
I second Gunslinger Girl. I know you've talked/written about it elsewhere but a new vlog would be nice.
I identified with Naruto because of him being the same age as me too! haha It's neat to hear someone with the same reason
I'd be interested in hearing your whole thoughts on what you've seen on LOGH
Lol, wow. You found out about manga at the same time I did. I started buying those shounen jump monthly mags around that time.
Digi, have you ever read Light Novels, and if so which ones are your favorites? This is an idea for another vlog.
Datebaio *(I hope I'm spelling that right)* has no English translation, so Viz Media decided to fill it in with *"believe it!"*
Eureka Seven would be an interesting show to get your perspective on.
Naruto and Kingdom Hearts AMVs, you say? Back in MY day, everyone made AMVs out of Dragonball Z (specifically the Cell Games arc) and the PS1 Final Fantasy FMV cutscenes!
Back in MY day it was all about those FF versus 13 AMVs boi.
I wanted to know more about your opinion on Shaman King.
i totally agree with the reading weekly thing, i think that's a big problem with almost every shonen series
The art for Bleach is so gorgeous and I loved watching how it progressed throughout the manga. That's one of the main reasons I love it so much. Also, the sense of humour is so quirky and it breaks up the darker parts.
I would like to hear your thoughts about The Vision of Escaflowne.
I'd like a video about Elfan Lied. I'd be interested in hearing about its reception back in the day.
i remember hikaru no go being in those shonen jump magazines, and some first chapters for stuff like Legendz, Whistle, Beet the Vandel buster...good times.
I remember back in high school our band camp got canceled for a few days and I spent that time watching Naruto filler on youtube because I found out you could actually watch anime on the internet (it had just never occurred to me to look that shit up on youtube before)
this channel is better than your main one imo
I saw Claymore on your shelf, would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Wahmen go slliice, then rawr. There's a good plot synopsis.
Listening to music from Naruto AMVs on youtube hits home so fucking hard.
