This is great stuff, Patrick! Thanks for making this video. Would you have any thoughts for a segment on controlling shots, limiting rebounds and proper clearing/outlet techniques beyond learning and practicing the progressions during warm-ups?
Best way to “control a shot” is to really try to have the goalie be aware of which shots they like and which they dont (area of the field, distance, etc) and to be able to communicate to their defenders where to be, when to go, when to stay, when to push down. This is how I “control” my shots. If that is what you mean. Rebounds off the body is really just positioning and having stick discipline (soft hands but not too soft, and to try to stop bounce shots sort of how catchers do in baseball, squared and angled to the ground. Drills that practice fast breaks and go into a middie outlet on the run is great.
Step to the ball . Play on your toes . Hands at your chin . Watch the ball like nothing else in the world matters. run your defense . Call it oit and call the check before it needs to be there
Great stuff, always looking for new ways to warm up the goalies but also the right stuff. Thank you!!!
Ayyy you already know I’m doing this 🧱🧱🧱🥍💨

I love the idea. I’ll see about getting a couple of the goalie coach as I know to come on board for one.
