Wow! You just reminded me that I still have a Robocat in my shed somewhere. It was the first ever fpv and build. Having the battery on the inside was always a bit strange but I am sure it saved me many a battery and here in NZ they are still more expensive than the other things that get smash when you stack it into a fence post as full noise. I feel a retro rebuild coming on. Cheers
I've wanted to build that frame since I saw them when I first started! You got the like for the portal music on the intro, If they make a 3rd portal game they should put this guy in it. ok, now i'm watching... BRUUU you made it TALLER?!?!?!?!!? It is kinda wild that the batt goes in the middle. I get the idea of putting the heaviest part in the center, but the fpv gear in the aero cowling area only considers cooling, not crashing... on a racing drone. I guess they had high hopes that drone racing would be big-budget like pro car racing type stuff, eventually. The $230 03 air unit was many years down the road from that design... so I guess they didn't think about it like that. They were still destroying at least a $30-$50 analog vtx at the time... The crazy long aluminum standoffs holding the roof... oof. Talk about mom's spaghetti. I love it though, It looks so fast and cool. I would install crazy LED's in it. Think of the chase footage!!! Think of your friends!!!!!
This was cool .. we have a bunch of old quads .. wizard and I took all that old stuff pieced together a Armattan rooster frame .. updated all the software to current to what it would accept anyway … I’m kinda over whelmed by how good this thing flies .. what’s old is new again type thing.. I can see people at a price point now days looking for older complete analog quads to get flying for around what?? $125 lots of shit quads back then had to do with poor software and tunes … now that is crucial to the quad
thanks man, yeah I was quite pleasantly surprised on how well it ripped on 6s with "modern" hardware. Although if ya watch the flight again you can see the fc freaking out a bit because I was def pushing the stress limit of those arms XD
@@MrFadjule I aslo just revived a gecko. I’m digging these older quads now even with old hardware yet new software make all the difference.. IF the frame is sturdy that arris flaps in a breeze 😆

I totally destroyed 3 of those Arris quads within the past 3 years. They came with good motors though. Nice video 👍

I just got done squeezing an 03 into a 4" gecko last night. I think the frame is 4 years old in general (maybe 5?), but it's amazing to me right now
