When you showed the bolt holes not lining up on the radiator support @ 12:35, could that be caused by them using an R50 support? The contour of the top of the support on an R50 and an R53 are different as you know, and was the R53 bonnet forcing the R50 rad support downwards?
@@OhioRed55 I think the holes are consistent across both. I think it’s more to do with the fact the crash bar wasn’t held in properly and there is a small amount of adjustment in the front panel before you bolt it down tight. So I think it’ll be fine when it’s going back together. The R50 front panel does stop the Airtec sitting properly though, which is why that has been a massive chunk of it cut out 😂
After watching all that has been done to the Mini I will admit that I like what I see and I will now definitely subscribe to your channel. I deleted my last comment as I was totally wrong with what I had said and I apologise sincerely. I now look forward to your future videos and thank you and I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year try to enjoy as much as you can unfortunately my 28 year old son died last December of a heart attack so I don’t have anything to celebrate anymore. Please keep up the good work and once again I apologise for my other comment which I have now removed Take care from Richard in Dronfield Derbyshire
Thanks for taking the time to watch and no worries on the original comment, i appreciate it’s probably not the easiest time for you at the moment. Thank you for apologising (and for subscribing). 👍 As a dad myself, I can’t imagine how this time of year feels for you, but I hope at least you can have a bit of downtime and best wishes for 2025.
Another great video. Goes to show how some people just don’t care how it all goes together. Any bolt will do… or maybe no bolt at all. Keep it coming. Good to show the correct way of doing things
Unfortunately this is the result of driveyard sunday mechanics+ bad professional mechanics combination... with my minis I have seen (and unfortunately had to pay for it) so many times in the UK... it is very difficult (not sure why) to properly maintain and fix these cars in the UK...
Wow what a bodge. All fixable if you wish to but I'd be pulling the entire engine and starting from scratch given the state of it. Lucky it wasn't sold to someone who didn't know much about them looks like a death trap waiting to happen. A nice project though!
Not a good start 😂 - Yeah I’d be frustrated if I bought it as a working car and was running around in it with family. Glad in one sense I did pick it up.

@@Fourwheeledfarming Thanks - Merry Christmas and thanks for the support 👍
Cant believe you didnt know about the optional front access bleed screw!!! Might get one fitted myself. 😂
Could make it a bit longer and double it as a coolant and oil drain 😂

True. It’s difficult to find a decent garage, I can only go by what I was told - but apparently most of this has been done ‘professionally’ 😂😂
@ oh I have a photo and video book of Crap done professionally unfortunately 😂😂🤌
I’m after a vacuum line clip? As mine is broken. Do you have a link as I can’t find any. Cheers.
If you mean the one that goes on the MAP sensor bracket that holds that black pipe in place the part number should be 61138368029
Yes that’s the one. Thanks, much appreciated. 👍🏻
Track car!!!
You buying it? 😂👀

@ThorMotorWerks and hopefully for not much more than scrap value. Cant see where the 7k went even if it did include the entire car!
