I'm an animator and I've been looking around for AGESSSS for a good reference of a waltz where the couple turns during the dance instead of staying static in profile in front of the camera-now I know how to actually place the feet to get the characters to turn-before I kept mixing up which foot goes where while drawing :D

I went to a country swing dance last night and got caught flat-footed, not knowing how to waltz. I think I might be able to do a decent job now. Thank you for sharing you skills and knowledge with us!
My father taught me how to Waltz a long time ago, but I could only remember the box step ( which the way he taught me was a little different, and more confusing). So lately I've been trying to re-learn how to dance as a way o impressing my date. This has by far been the best video, and all in all, just the best channel for learning how to dance! That's called "body contact" and is only necessary once you've gotten pretty advanced in your technique! Until you've mastered posture, dance position and your partner connection, weight transfer (along with the steps of course) - body contact will only make things more difficult for you. Later in the syllabus it could help with certain actions and advance your dancing to a higher level. Hope this helps :)
Does it matter if you go left foot forward or left foot backwards as a first step? I watched some other tutorials and people said that leader starts with right foot forward and turns to the right. I'm just confused rn 🤣🤣
That's fair! There are two types of waltz - the american style smooth waltz (this is the version we teach on our channel) and the international style standard waltz which is the other version you've seen. Both are correct in there own styles! You can decide for yourself which one works best for you :)
Hello again I have other questions, does a follower of a waltz move slow or move faster while dancing and can a person lead a dance doing a follower position.
No matter the dance style the follower and the leader should dance at the same tempo, neither faster or slower than the other partner. The waltz is on the slower side but is consistent with 1-2-3 etc. The person in the follower position should not lead and should let the person in the leader position lead. If you prefer leading then I would recommend switching roles :)

Basic steps. Keep adding different movements. Try on dance musics (W) on I-Pad Music lists.
