@@Viktor88k It was set by Stella Kostadinova of Bulgaria. She was the world’s most dominant high jumper for twelve years and is very well respected in the track and field world. There has never been even a hint of her using performance enhancement drugs.

@@CharmsDad with the advent of steroids, hundreds and thousands of world records fell, and almost no one was caught, the detection methods were very weak, the athletes knew how to properly cleanse the body

@@Viktor88k Hundreds of thousands? Hyperbole and exaggeration aren’t facts. People have been suspicious of a number of athletes from the late 1980 and early 1990s. That was particularly true of women who suddenly showed huge performance improvements such as Florence Griffith Joyner, Marita Koch, and Jarmila Kratochvilova - all of which have still standing records and all of which are suspected of using “artificial” methods to improve their performance. Kostadinova is a completely different story. She was setting world age group records at 12 years old. Her performance improvements were all gradual and reasonable. She was simply a naturally gifted athlete who worked hard, which showed in her near textbook perfect technique. She was also extremely consistent, rarely making even minor technical mistakes. That doesn’t come with drugs, nor does consistent high performance year round and year after year. As I stated, there has never been even a hint that she was using anything other than once in a lifetime natural talent and hard work.

@@CharmsDad the international olympic committee at one time wanted to cancel all records in athletics for certain years, this is not a joke, there was a lot of doping
