I have the Philosopher's Gold (it's the re-named Philosopher's Tone Gold) and love it. I've found that going all the way to 11 with the grit is a bit too much, but keeping it at noon adds just the right amount of distortion.
Nice playing man. I’ve had the og philosophers tone for years but have been coveting the original germanium version. Then again the mini price is too good to pass up. Much more portable than the king of them as well.
