I was on a self inflicted 600 cal no carb vegan diet for months and after the first 3 months, not only did I stop losing weight, but I started gaining anytime I’d dare consume a few cals extra. It was very limiting and I was losing a lot of muscle in the process. I slowly built up to 800 cals low carb vegan diet for several months, but also plateaued after a few months, losing even more muscle in the process. I have now built up to 1100-1200 cals a day, still lower carb vegan diet, but added some bread each day to make sure I don’t slip back into ketosis. I’ve been able to maintain weight, mainly trying to stop all the mad atrophy (lost 15 lbs of pure muscle), despite still having 20 lbs of excess body fat. I’m at 106 lbs and I still feel like a bowl of pudding, whereas before atrophy, I was already okay at 108. I went from 33% BF to 20%, but it doesn’t feel like enough. My question is: what is considered normal healthy body fat percentage for females? What number of BF % do I need to aim for to feel like my normal self again?

I agree that is an extremely low caloric intake, which is then exacerbated by the demands of added activity which are more than likely having counterproductive effects by stressing the body and thus lowering metabolism. Women typically feel their best between 18-22% body fat.
