@Schlomo Baconberg If CE bothers you that much choice is easy...don't watch. I used both in title...i could care less. SOme use CE some AD so i put both.
@Schlomo Baconberg Lame comment. If you care more about date tags that the content don't watch.
@Schlomo Baconberg Why are you giving me a hard time? I just want to make content not debate date formats? I have stated repeatedly use whatever date format YOU want. I used both. You don't like it seriously that is your right. You watch other channels who also use this date format.
@@YoreHistory This was awesome. Better than Netflix.

'Britain. A land of horrors that you had only heard whispers of as a child. A gateway to the underworld populated with people who ate each other in ghoulish rituals.'
- Yeah, and on top of that the weather sucks.
it's why we make the best TV in the world so the weather has some advantages
All TRUE.
When I'm down I read this weather comment, really makes me chuckle 👍

Now you got to give us the back story on Justus!
Haha that would be a fun story to write!
Amazing story, I love the blend of narrative and history that Hollywood rarely gets right.
Don't forget, the characters were believable.
That was absolutely breathtaking. I'm speechless. That was the best storey I've heard in almost ever. Amazing work I can't thank you enogh for producing this. Just wow!
Wow that is awesone to hear and appreciated. More contentbin this format will be coming. Thanks for watching!

As I click on wondering if this is worth 2 hours I read this as the first comment and think say no more. Gaius Watchus Olivette.
@@YoreHistory I'll second Manuel Nunez
I open a bottle of Vino, I sat and listen and for an hour 44 minutes I was a soldier I was the might Rome! Thank you, for a dream so close to reality in a world of insanity. BRILLIANT! You give me the glory Rome, with a storied voice and history.
Haha awesome to hear. Thanks for watching...and listening :) Cheers.
Excellent Writing...historically accurate..love the long length...wonderful production..MUCH LUV FROM N.AUGUSTA S.C
Haha love where you are from how apt eh? Cheers and thanks for watching. Hopefully i can cover some other periods you enjoy in the future with much better production!
I wanna personally thank you for this imaginative display of great effort and I say it's paid off. I loved LOVED it. I was intrigued with your historical references and combination of scenes I've previously seen with my Roman studies. The addition of a simple background made it all come together. This was brilliant. I for one am happy there are people like you alive. You brightened my day. Thank You. Go Chiefs!!!
James, thanks very much for the kind words! I have a few scripts finished and hope to have some videos back up soon.
As for these 2nd person stories, other than the main character I try for as much historical accuracy as I can. Of course the invention of the long bow and some other things were thrown in for some additional fun but all events, battles, other main characters, dates are accurate.
So thanks again and glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
Scary this is from a year ago and yet Chiefs won this year...you were predicting just a bit early! :)
Absolutely Brilliant Story Very Touching and Somewhat Nostalgic and gives an emotional glimpse into the Lives of Legionaries returning home after 2 plus decades of military service and among the lucky few to make it back home.
I had to pause the video to make a comment expressing my gratitude to whoever made this. This is probably the finest historical video I have ever seen. Really incredible work please keep it up!
Thank you so much David. It's comments like these that make the hard work worthwhile. Cheers!
I was skeptical of the second person narrative but grew to enjoy it very much. Thank you.
Cheers and thanks for giving it a try. Was trying to do something in history a bit different and it won't be for everyone :)
I hope that enough high school history teachers can get behind supporting access of this work to their students . I feel sure that it would be well received. Thanks for a unique presentation.
Oh my heavens! I felt immersed in the story as like when I was a little kid. Thank you for this meditative adventure! I think that watching and listening to this has just been the most wondrous experience I've ever had through any UA-cam video.

Funny you mention that... :)
This is so well done, bravo! Puts a lot of high budget mainstream documentaries to shame!
Cheers, its a generational story and continues in Roman Envoy...part 2 of that series out later today.
i dont think i have anything as good as this ever, what a brilliant concept, it puts the mainstream to shame, this is how history should be taught brilliant.
This is so well done! Thank you!

Thanks for watching!
Good story. Made my morning enjoyable
Wow. Watched on recommendation from a friend, and truly, wow. This was a beautiful story. I wish there was more like this.
I have several series in this format (Viking/British Sailor 19th century/Dutch 17th century/Roman Envoy) etc with more coming in the future. Cheers and thanks for watching!
Hell, this reminds me of my Basic Training and my Advanced Jungle Training at Ft. Polk, LA, right in the heart of the Louisiana Swamplands!!! I saw more snake and spiders in Polk in one day that I saw all the time in Nam!!! It was brutal, but it was the training that we needed to survive. We had a lot of guys trained at Ft Lewis, WA and other colder weather states. These guys dropped like flies when the come to the field. Twice I was bumped off a Dust off medical transport chopper and had to walk into the rear because the Dust Offs were filled guys suffering from Heat Exhaustion. This is why training was so important!!! I was still ordered to “Point” out to the rear LZ. I stepped over a log and a large stick stabbed me in my fragment wound and ripped it open even further.
you wouldnt have lasted a week doing this Roman training. the marching would have killed you
Enjoyed! Thanks for the compilation.
Your story was absolutely amazing. I am glad I came across it

Very good and adventure packed episode. Great work, a very unique and in depth take.

Thanks for watching and commenting Omar, great to hear :) It hit me too as I was writing it and seeing it play out in my head. Glad you felt the same!
Bro same here. The same with the dead of the father :( I was wondering all the time whether or not Gaius would see his parents again
Awesome content, and great narration! Thank you for not letting sound effects overwhelm, and for using music that lends itself well without being overly dramatic. Excellent choices, all very important!
Its always a tricky thing...my first series on Persia was filled with "MUSIC TOO LOUD" and repetitive so learned the hard way as I can't go back and change it now. Thanks for watching!
You have me wanting more, very well done, Ty.
