1. Subway. Because when I opened I pointed out the previous shift had left ALL of the bread on the FLOOR overnight and ruined it. They told me to just go home because we couldn't open without bread. So obviously since the store was closed someone had to be punished. 2. Personal cleaner/shopper. Because she locked me out of the house after sending me for groceries and wouldn't answer the door or phone or knocks on the windows and I got worried because I couldn't see her and called the FD who broke down the door. 3. Factory. There were no managers present that day and I having only worked there a month was left alone with an entire malfunctioning line and was not allowed to shut it down or have help. I clocked out on time and they called that walking off the job.
Whiling working at goodwill, I saw a new guy get fired for giving a homeless person a blanket.
So, theft? Yeah. Don't steal from your employer.
That holds true even if the employer is garbage.
While sometimes GW can be addholes, there was likely a right way to go about that which wouldn't have gotten him fired
