What is it? I guess I'm too late anyway. Lol
you answered the question halfway through video. First time here, enjoying beat repeat.
Dang I just got done with a long ableton session... Guess I'll hop back on now 🤜🤛😂. Your channel motivates me
just started making electronic music on ableton after being a live musician for the past decade… these videos have been instrumental in giving me the tools to create engaging music and not feel like i’m starting again from square 1 - thank you for sharing your knowledge in a concise way!
I am so freaking glad I found your channel! I'm very new to working with music production software and you have helped make so many overwhelming feelings melt away. Thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you!!! I've learned more in two videos with you than in the last four days scouring the inter web. Super grateful!
Amazing tip just right what i'm looking for, thanks a lot.
I love your videos. Content like yours is gonna be so helpful in the future when fighting mental illness / depression. Like, I feel like im in the studio there with you.
I looked a lot of tutorials for this but didnt learn much, you made it so simple, just what I was looking for , thanks for the tutorial man
That is the video I was waiting for ! Thank you 👌
Ayeeee ! was looking for this tutorial ! Love from Nepal !!
Just getting back into using Live, and your videos have fast-tracked this process for me. Dope AF bro
I love you! Desperately needed the beat repeater and didnt understand it till I found ur tutorial. no chance, 100% gate aha... loooooooooooove
Thank you for the helpful guide here. Much appreciation for your work.
Thank you for sharing, please do more of these. ! This is awesome.
Thank you so much! Incredible helpful and inspiring
This is one of the best tutorials I've ever seen. fast, easy, aestetic. I love it!
thanks Nora!
I like this tutorial, I learned a lot from it. Would love to get more instruction in Ableton live. Already watched twice love this.
Your awesome bro. Thanks for being you 🙏🏽👊🏽
Thanks for a much needed guide Tae🎸
This is awesome - thank you so much.
Super helpful! Thanks!
Hey thanks again for this video. I watched it when you first released it and I half caught on. Now that I have more gear and controllers and doodaads and things that make weird noises.......what was I saying?...Oh yeah I stumbled on your vid again about how you live loop with the sustain pedal and I set a little side rig up and followed along and then you lead me down that rabbit hole and I found this video about the "master beat repeat" and I followed and saved to my user library and..
I LOVE IT!!!!
Like you. I may use it in all my sonic explorations.
Thanks again man
*waves from the east coast
That was clutch Taetro
This is really well explained at a comfortable pace :)
thank you , this was super helpful
thank you good sir you have +1 to my music knowledge
that was really helpful, thank you
I've really learnt SO much from your channel! Thank you for making amazing content, especially for beginner music producers.
I’m so happy to hear that!!
Just what I needed, like always! Much love!!
peace and love peace and love 🖤
Thank you best uploads
Thank you for doing this video. Very easy to follow and helpful. This is exactly the technique I was searching for so THANK YOU!!!!
I'm so glad!
Wow this is gold my boy
you are an inspiration I tell ya
.... amazing!
Youre a legend mate. Thank you
HELLA useful bro! thanks
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyouuuuu!!!!
awesome video, super helpful, thank you
Love your videos. You provide really good ideas for performance. I made the beat repeat rack and added some macros: all the Decays to one, all the Filter ONs to one, all the Filter Lo-Hi frequencies to one and all the Filter Bandwidths to another. I probably will revise this some as I play with it, pare it down, and combine some parameters to the same macro. Thanks
subscribed! great content!
Exactly what I need!
No plugins but making racks yourself
U saved me! Thank you!
Sooooo useful! Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
Great vid
You are a true Ableton ninja!
Appreciate you Kord!
Thanks for sharing
"If you found it helpful.." jajajajaja POR SUPUESTO que fue de gran ayuda 😄😄!!! Eres grande el mío 🤘 mad respect!!
THANK YOU!!!!!
Thanks you and youtube for showing this to me.
awesome, I will definitely be using this in future tracks. also wondering about your ”punch in the throat” preset? 😂
Hey ..thanks for the video
Crazy helpful video!! I have 4 of your videos open rn 😂😂
Lol perfect!!
fire
Finally I got the tutorial
Hey Taetro, love the videos man, do you have a video on creating vocal effects for live performance using ableton?
Bro your song Crossed Wires is amazing !
You're a great teacher.
thank you James!
Hey mate this is brilliant. Exactly what I was looking for to try and experiment with. I am trying to create tension and release with with knob effects for breakdowns.
This technique worked well to make a transition knob to drop into breaks. I used the pitch fall you created with 3 different time divisions mapped to a knob so I can flip it on while I filter out the low end. Super fun !
Is there a way to create a similar effect but in reverse to have a rise for bringing back in elements creating tension before the release?
thanks
Awesome vid, TYVM now I have my own rack set up!!
Great to hear!
I came to this video to see how other people are doing this.
I have been doing what you are doing for almost 7 years but with just one instance of beat repeat.
Have you tried this before?
I have one for each channel I use it on (7 channels). And I control them all with a lunchpad.
Nice
I was exactly looking for an audio effect like that. You explained it perfectly for a beginner like me. I will use this in the future A LOT! Thanks dude!
Hey! Just for curiosity: Do you use a second computer to screen capture? OBS? I saw you use some external recorder for the VoiceOver, right? Cheers
great video, but do you find this way easier for you then to just use one beat repeat and set up a macro to change the grid as opposed to using a macro for each division? thanks!
for performance, I want to be able to turn 1 knob and 1 subdivision and not care about fine tuning. With multiple subdivisions on a single knob, I would have to carefully adjust to get the subdivision I want.
Is it possible to just map best repeat like we cut the loop in half until it’s on 1/1 ? Like on cds ?
maybe things have changed in 2023, but having the interval all the way down seems to disable to repeating effect, and that actually makes sense to me, as the interval is how often beat repeat is picking up new material to repeat. If it's picking up something new bigger than 1/32 every 1/32, it would make sense that nothing is repeated. It's only when I turn it up to 4 bars that I have it repeating
Clicking on and off repeat is key. Seems like beat repeat won't start picking up new material for such a small interval unless you unclick and reclick
Is there a similar plugin like Beat Repeat available to users of other DAWs?
is there a way to do this with buttons instead?
Great explanation. I followed along side by side and was able to replicate in Intro 11.
Do you know of a way to do this by triggering the effect with pads or does it have to be knobs?
It doesn't have to be knobs. You map a pad to the macro and it will work the same like an on/off switch
Were’s the stream ???
How do you record the beat with the stutter??
Press record
Can you please make a video on how to set up a pad for repeated hi hats in ableton and arturia midi mk2...
use apregiator dude
He posted a quick tip about it on insta
I have the same midi controller! You can add an arpeggiator effect to your hi-hat. Then change the subdivisions and use ctrl+M to map that property to the knob on the minilab.
@@Eliphosys thanks
Great tutorial bro! Only problem is, I'm not a live performer lol, is there anyway to record the effect?...
Record automation in Ableton live!
@@Taetro Yes indeed, I finally figured it out after awhile, it's kinda glitchy otherwise... like it would only catch the first clip, but automation solved everything, but good lookin out bro and keep up the good WORK!
Anyone had a problem where the gate mode does not work in beat repeat... Where it just stops audio coming through (no original audio & no repeats) even when the chance is set to 100%????
It is nice how to don't have any dislike
Hey Taetro, I followed all the steps in this video but when I try to use the knobs on my novation launchkey mini 3, it doesn't control the beat repeats. For mine, it defaults to changing the volume slider on each track. Is there any way I can fix it so it will map to the macros that I created in this chain? Thanks!
You have your Launchkey Mini MK3 set to its default "Ableton" mode. You need to use your custom mode to control the macros. Hope that helps!
I've been experiencing issues using this rack live- a couple of time the beat repeat won't turn off/ freezes despite all the controls working fine. Has anyone else experienced this?
Needed this rack in my life lol! Thank you for this tutorial
Gr8 tutorial ... where did you put the beat repeat ?.. is it in the master channel? ..and moreover, i can't rec the beat reapeat ...
He put in the Master channel, inside an Audio Effect Rack, along with all the others
Drop the rack save us all 10 minutes 👀
teaching to fish!
but I'll drop more racks soon :)
Slowly is the best xD
anyone know how to do this in fl studio?
Hey Teatro, I have a question about the midi controller you are using currently. I started off with your video comparing about novation Launchkey Mini mk3 vs Akai MPK mini MK3. You mentioned you much preferred launchkey for the workflow. I noticed your recent videos all overs with Akai MPK mini mk3. What are the reasons of you choosing Akai MPK for content creating over Launchkey mini? I am just a curious soul :) I love your channel
how did you create the rack?

perfect🙌🏻
Anybody know how to do this on Reaper?
Would you (or anyone) recommend the Launchkey mini mk3 over the launchkey 25 mk3? I don't know the differences and I want to get something that I won't need to replace.
If you want full size keys, go with the 25, if you want something more portable, go with the mini
The LK Mini MK3 is a way better value, I think. It's more portable. The LK 25 has more custom modes, though (for knobs and pads). Plus dedicated transport buttons, which are really handy unless you have another controller dedicated to those.
@@DopamineOverload haha, thanks. I ended up getting the 49 key
@@MudStuffin Welcome. I have the 49 and I dig it. The custom modes are really handy, and the chord stuff's cool. Also, the mutate/deviate stuff with the arp is extremely handy. Enjoy!
@@DopamineOverload I have no idea how to use ableton or any (daw?) For that matter. I mainly got it for transcribing things using music notation softwares, but I also would like to learn how to use it to its full capabilities
Hoping for a giveaway of cheap midi keyboard cause i don't have 💰 to buy one 🙄😍😊
Underbelly from "You Suck at Producing" has a great breakdown of using the params in this as well, but yours goes deeper. That's what she said? 😆

Are you related to Maluma?
Dude I was gonna ask you about it last vid WTH are you some kind of telepath ????
Doesn't work that good honestly!!! Often doesn't make sound at all apparently cause it doesn't take the start correctly
Has to do with your timing throwing the knobs. Works great.
