Probably check Facebook, use search: bird singing, bird dancing. Each Thanksgiving weekend in Indio, Calif, the Fantasy Springs Casino Resort Events Center has a big gathering of Bird Singers on Friday Eve, and Saturday around 4PM. Scheduling may change, best to prepare to attend the event at noon, listen for the MC to announce what hour. This is during a big intertribal powwow being held, so you can watch many traditions all in one day.
These are called bird songs from the cahuilla people mike mirelez has recordings on sound cloud you can also just look up cahuilla bird songs on UA-cam and some songs should pop up
Wayne teaches in Pala! With all respect given, Bird songs are sung by a variety of California Tribes. As well as certain Tribes of Arizona. Not one Tribe owns them. You see a multitude of different Tribes here singing and dancing. We are so Blessed by people like Wayne Nelson and his group for keeping these songs and dances alive!
