- Paul Querro Jr. Rocks the house, at the Spotlight 29 Casino Powwow. Bird dancers and bird singers doing their thing! Representing and demonstrating some of the styles of the natives from the southwest!
Paul Cuero is my cousin, I’m fom Barona, Nancy Cuero’s dad, Uncle Mark’s mom Mary and my great grandfather Lucas Quitac were brother and sister, my grandmother’s name was Lucy
I wonder who are the 3 assholes who didn't like this 🤔
I'm thankful to be able to see and hear the songs and dances, I live in Missouri, but when I listen to the songs, it's like I'm back home again, I just close my eyes and it's like I've been transported to either Barona which is my rez, or Viejas, Sycuan, it's been a very long time since I've been to Campo or La Posta. Hopefully I'll be able to go home in the Spring for a couple of weeks. ❤❤
It’s spelled Paul Cuero, fyi. He is from Campo which is one of 13 Kumeyaay tribes in Southern California which is now know as San Diego.
Paul Cuero is singing TaKook(Ta-Cook) aka “Bird” which is 4 small birds telling a story. This specific style of bird is known as “Kumeyaay Bird”. There are many different styles of “Bird”: *Cahuilla Bird- Desert, Pass & Mountain
*Mojave Bird
*Kumeyaay Bird
Those are the ones I can think of.
Beautiful
Paul is the greatest singer of all time
FYI there ARE NOT 13 Kumeyaay Tribes
The New Age SD Natives claim Kumeyaay as their Tribe without knowing their history
The original Kumeyaay speak a different dialect than the Iipay and Epei which are our Mountain Natives!
Nativesis Rez girl so how many tribes make up the Kumeyaay Nation? Also, who are “new age SD natives?”. Oh and also, who are the “original Kumeyaay?”
•Campo
•La Posta
•Manzanita
•Ewiiaapaayp
•Jamul
•Viejas
•Sycuan
•Barona
•San Pasqual
•Inja/Cosmet
•Mesa Grande
•Santa Ysabel
•Cuyamaca (most people forget this is a Kumeyaay tribe)
*Technically there are 12 federally recognized KUMEYAAY tribes in San Diego. But like you said if you know your history you would know Cuyamaca aka Laguna indians was and still is a part of the Kumeyaay nation.
Mean Demon24 the original Kumeyaay Family was called Mish Quish. Also the tribes were always identified by the language they spoke. Please don’t confuse the public with information that is not accurate. Remember that a Reservation commonly consists of many Tribes put together. You have listed many Tribes that are not affiliated with the Kumeyaay that were mainly from Baja or along the CA border. If you went into the mountains of SD and called the Natives Kumeyaay, you might not make it back to the city
Hallo, mein Name ist Michael und ich wohne in Deutschland. Kann mir bitte jemand die Bedeutung der Gesänge und der Tänze erklären. Ich würde mich sehr freuen...
