You all should definitely check out more of his solo work. He often contributes to the writing and production of his songs. When he first announced that he was going solo, I had no idea what kind of sound he'd come out with but Wonho and his team knew exactly where he needed to be. I don't know of another solo K-pop idol with his particular sound. He has carved out this soft sometimes electro-pop vibe for himself. His music often gives me the feeling of trance music in some ways because it's so catchy, but it always has this emotional undertone that comes from his vocals which makes you feel transported when you're listening. Some others from him are, "Open Mind" "Lose" "Crazy" and "Eye on You."
The whole situation is confusing but from what I remember a couple (one being allegedly a ex of Wonho ) accused him of doing drugs and him borrowing money from said ex- when he was a trainee. Wonho decided to leave the group- not wanting to hurt the members reputation. He was investigated by the police for the drug allegation, and soon proven innocent from the false drug alligations and fales fumored by those said people.I must say this is probably the work of the unlucky number 7 curse! MANY fans went on social media criticizing Starship Entertainment for failing to protect Wonho and Monsta X. For months fans harassed and protested in front of the company to bring Wonho as a Monsta X member. He then signed with a subsidiary of Starship Entertainment in order to pursue a solo career. Monsta X was soon having a comeback before the whole situation and release 'FOLLOW' MV *including* Wonho, even after the rumors. The day after Wonho left Monsta X, the group had to perform and promote 'FOLLOW', they were clearly upset about the whole situation. For years the group and Wonho strictly couldn't be seen together publicly but they're still proof and pictures of them hanging out privately. Till this day you will meet Monbebe (Monsta X fans) who still consider Wonho as a Monsta X member. We all miss him in the group and support his solo work. Thank you for your reaction!
This is wonho's first release after completing his military service. Because of dumb false allegations about drug use and owed money, he decided for the good of Monsta X's reputation to leave the group in late 2019. He got so much unnecessary hate from so-called "fans" and the media, even after he was proven completely innocent in March of 2020. He then signed with a subsidiary of Starship Entertainment in order to pursue his solo career. This is a great song that can have many different messages and interpretations including 1 that many people can relate to which is talking about a breakup, or as you nailed it, a song that other idols, celebrities, singers, etc. can relate to that calls out the haters, media, and toxic fandoms surrounding not just the Kpop industry, but all entertainment industries or industries where people are in the public space.
Yes, people can be so harsh. Wonho suffered from that shit, all the false accusations and rumors. That’s why he left, because he didn’t want to make his friends also got attacked. As you said, this song can be a break up song but I think it’s his own story.
He was made to leave, more like. All entertainment companies make it seem like it's the idol's decision, but he moved out from the group's apartment within one day, got censored from videos, was banned from ever being seen together with the group and to this day isn't allowed to interact with the other members in public. That's not something he would do, let alone at the very peak of his career (when he could have just taken a hiatus) - Monsta X was on a very steep rise to the top of the industry at the time. No, it was Starship who kicked him out because they were terrified of the small handful of people who actually got upset at Wonho.
Welcome to Wonho as a solo artist! Please review his other songs when you can. I'm an MBLAQ (A+) & 2NE1 (Blackjack) fan but stopped for awhile. Monsta X got me back into kpop too.
it was a rich girl whos father is super rich and pud drugs in his drink and days later the media in korea made things quick, but he came back stronger and still broken

His voice sounds even better, and his English too
The controversay wasn't with Monsta X- it happened before he debuted - he left MX to save them from the problems!!
