Wow - this was so fun to watch. Happy to have seen this pop up on the UA-cam feed this morning! Appreciate the insight shown from the (at least one) customer experience as a result of our team's efforts. Subscribed! p.s. your pronunciation of my name was spot on! a truly rare feat 😂 -Xris
Those are waiting to get on the Geistmaschine ❤️. So glad you came out with these, didn’t know what to pair that jewel of a board with and when I saw the Modern Materials I was like “that’s it, that’s the one”. 🙂
I love your vids! It feels like dave2d early vids before his channel got big and he started to review the same products like every other big techtubers instead of cool and unique products. I hope you'll get your gold play button soon while still doing reviews for cool products.

Honestly at this point - calling out RAMA should be put front and center rather than just a cheeky nod. - Sincerely, a RAMA Victim. Other than that - great job on the video. I've always wanted a Mode board but the lack of any wireless options makes the value proposition a little wild to me.
great video with well presented information! very engaging to watch, even as a current mode board owner. fun to learn some of the facts and your insights on the operations of the company overall.
fun video, couldn’t agree more! very happy OG Sonnet owner, exciting to see Mode continuing to evolve and innovate! Also not so quietly begging for them to make a WK 60% (I need my full bottom row)
In many ways, Apple and Mode are similar. For instance, they do not mention new products at all until just before the official announcement. However, the communication process on Discord until the product is delivered can be considered an advantage unique to Mode. Given the nature of Custom mechanical keyboards, communication with users is truly important!
I'd really like a mode, but like most keyboard companies, they unfortunately don't support a single design that has a Mac bottom row, i.e., 4 keys bottom-left or at least a key below C. Also no split spacebar sucks because it wouldn't be hard for them to implement, but it is what it is.
Nice vid and overview CT. Apple - Ha! A company living off a historical reputation that is no longer deserved. Marketing at it's best and worst :) The one thing I disagree with you is finding all the parts to work together after a long ass time of searching. I have had experiences, with other products, that have meant I am left spending even more money to replace new parts that are no longer supported; so a company that is keeping a close eye on the ability to deliver and communicates this is a huge plus point for me. After all, who wants to pay twice for a product component? Oh hang on - Apple again.
Actually, if Apple made a mechanical keyboard they would provide a Bluetooth option. So sad I can use a wired as it would interfere with my Davinci Speed Editor on the desktop
What I like is they are good but also in stock and I can get more stuff want like extras love poly to not a fan of long group buy either… so far an envoy and a new 65 my first keyboard of the hobby a ikki68 from a reseller cause I was lte but wanted under 200 at the time the new sonnet will be next I just got a loki65 smoke black com on mode make a smoked poly
Cool, a very, extremely good keyboard is an extremely important tool coz' communication is the 2nd most important tool of mankind (time & prayers are first most important tool of mankind). The Altar is more like what Apple would design, they put Apple's chiclet keycaps which is a good dimension. This is more like what Bobba Fett would type on. God bless.

Thank you so much! 🙂 Glad I got the pronunciation right as well 😅
A sighting of my Modern Materials at the end 👀

@@CheeseTurbulence hope to get a Geist some day. Love their work.

Thank you so much! I hope I can continue doing these as well 🙂
This whole channel is if apple made a keyboard review channel
No
What?
Not enough generic meaningless graphs and hyperbolic yet hollow assertions.

Man I loved this video. I also have the Tempo. One of my favorites for sure. Keep up the great work!
Jar Jar?
Thank you! 🙂 Honor to have you here sir 🫡
Thanks for the shout out!

Thanks and I agree on the WK 60%, those are tasty 😉
What a pity that they do not do ISO layout. Nice keyboards.
the mode stabs are awesome as well lol
have you seen Matthew Encina's video on his mode keyboard encore? Its really cool showing some of the behind the scenes of making keyboards like this.
Saw it, it's fantastic, really enjoyed seeing the process behind it. 🙂

This is how I feel about grey studios lol. man i am just obsessed with their boards.

They may have too many configuration options for Apple to be quite honest
And those options aren't expensive enough like a RAM or SSD upgrade.
Nice vid mate
Thank you again! 🙂
15:30 what keycap is that ?
pretty sure those are osume matcha marshmallows
That is correct 🙂 They’re also linked in the description.
Unexpected to see Ovomaltine in a Keyboard video. 🇨🇭

And I can see your point, I will admit the title is a bit "out there" 😅
@@CheeseTurbulence I love your sense of humour CT. As far as I'm concerned you make some of the best KB reviews on YT.
i wish they would do german key layouts...
Actually, if Apple made a mechanical keyboard they would provide a Bluetooth option. So sad I can use a wired as it would interfere with my Davinci Speed Editor on the desktop
all keyboards look the same, people don't experiment on layouts
Let me guess... MODE doesn't build ISO keyboards 🙄
Their solder PCB looks to have all the correct pad locations and stabiliser cutouts for ISO. Plates are also fully ISO compatible

no arrow keys, jesuschrist
Apple would never use wood. Because the outcome of the design isn't controlable.
Apple and custom dont go together
06:12 geez - all that packaging.
And then this packaging will be put in another box for shipping - all just to be thrown away.
Yay waste!
“apple” and “custom” (as in a properly custom device) in the same phrase, doesnt seem right
apple and custom is opposite side of the word
