Apollo Creed won by a SPLIT DECISION. There are 3 judges. 2 judges said Apollo won. 1 judge said Rocky won. It was a very close fight. A unanimous decision is when all 3 judges pick the same winner. Rocky lost the fight but he got his woman. That’s all that mattered to him. So he did win. 👍🏼

Just want to clear up a slight misunderstanding, the fight being "set" only meant that it was scheduled, not that the outcome was predetermined. Rocky was telling Mick that the fight was already "set" because Mick wanted to be Rocky's manager, and one of the functions that a manager can provide is to hustle and arrange boxing matches for their fighters. Since the fight with Apollo was already set (setup, scheduled), Mick wouldn't factor into that as a manager. But, a boxing manager can also impart knowledge and help train a fighter prior to the match. The manager is also in the fighter's "corner" during the actual match, and can offer strategy and encouragement, moment to moment during the fight. So, despite not being able to affect the schedule or the details of the match, as that had already been established, Mick's offer to be Rocky's manager still held a lot of benefits for Rocky to accept. Also, Mick really needed a shot at being a part of a bigtime match because he missed his opportunity when he was a younger man, and Rocky's a good guy, so he took Mick on as his manager. I love this movie and have watched it many times. I've come to have a recent sense of increased respect for Apollo. He does come on with an inflated image of himself which can be off-putting, especially next to the elemental genuineness of Rocky. But as they emphasize in the film, they are putting on a show. It's a fight that coincides with the Bicentennial of the country; literally a once in a lifetime event. And Apollo goes into the fight facing an opponent he thinks is a novelty... but then the "novelty" lays him out in the first round. Apollo recovers, and only then decides to take Rocky seriously. But what that means out boxing Rocky and defeating him in the next several rounds. But that does not happen; it goes the distance. Apollo sticks with it every inch of the way, just as Rocky does. Don't get me wrong, it's Rocky's story, and Rocky's the guy I'm rooting for all the way. But it's interesting that Apollo isn't just a paper champion that folds the second things go sideways for him. Apollo also isn't just a caricature, though his showboating entrance to the ring suggests otherwise. It's his idea to fight Rocky, because he knows it will attract an audience. And, as mentioned, when he's already in the middle of the fight and only then realizes it's gonna be the fight of his life, he doesn't succumb, he takes it all the way with Rocky. Huge credit to Stallone as the writer and Carl Weathers's performance for not treating the "Heavy" as a two-dimensional character, which happens in sports movies (even some really good ones), but instead making Apollo a complex and interesting antagonist.
this is the point and why apollo is so integral throughout the series... don't forget apollo outboxes rocky for the majority of rounds it's just because he tries to brawl with rocky that it becomes tough because that's rocky speciality. apollo is the "best" in outright skills there's actually sorta an analogous pairing in real life boxing ray Robinson and jake lamotta. sugar ray Robinson is considered by most to be the greatest p4p boxer of all time... unbelievably slick and well rounded (just like apollo). lamotta was known for being ridiculously tough and able to beat better opposition through will. although ssr beat him in the majority of their fights (they had a few)l) lamotta was the first person to beat srr by basically absorbing punishment and wearing him down
Good post, Tuco. I agree with everything you said. I do disagree though with your statement that Apollo is the antagonist. I feel that Apollo is the obstacle. Apollo is another human being, striving for the same thing that Rocky is striving for, but he’s not the antagonist. The antagonist is, misery, despair, homelessness, poverty, and loneliness especially. Those things weigh on the soul and that is what Rockies really is striving to overcome through boxing. I do love Apollo creed’s character.
is there a difference between a manager and a trainer/coach in boxing? like doesn't mick operate as both? couldn't he have just said 'i want to train you for the fight' rather than that he wants to manage him?
22:37 - When they say "the fight is set", it does not mean that it is "fixed" or fake, it just means that the 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦 is set, it is on the calender, it is scheduled. He is NOT getting paid to lose. Rocky is saying he doesn't need a manager because manager's main job is to get fights for their fighters and he already has a fight so why do I need a manager? That's what he means that it is set. But of course Micky is also a trainer and can help Rocky that way too, and Rocky comes around in this scene, knowing he really needs the help if he is to have a chance at all. I think you will enjoy this series of films. Excited to see your reaction to the next few.
@amandamiquilena At this time in American culture, it was still understood to respect your elders, and Rocky knew what he did to Mickey and felt bad and wanted to be a better person. He also had either empathy or sympathy for Mickey.
The dog in movie was actually Sylvester's, he had to sell him for food his family $500. When he sold the script for Rocky he bought him back at way more than he sold him for.
That scene at Rocky's apartment where Mick says he wants to train him is achingly heartbreaking. Anyone over 30 who has unfulfilled dreams with little hope of fulfilling them, only they can empathise (I'm one of them).
And say what you will about Sylvester Stallone, he got nominated not only for Best Actor but Best Original Screenplay for this film, and the number of actors who’ve earned acting and screenwriting nominations for the same film are probably in the single digits.
The entire Rocky series is really just a love story at its core. And the willingness to continue to get back up over and over again, when life keeps punching you down. “To go the distance” and to keep on fighting all of your life, and you will come out a winner in the end. Excellent reaction.
Appolo didnt say the audience doesnt want to see a fight where the opponant has no chance. He said the ranked contenders know they have no chance against Apollo so theyre making excuses to avoid fighting him.
Hearing them announce Apollo Creed's victory in the background of Rocky and Adrian saying they love each other has gotta be one of the best moments in movie history. Chills everytime. Apollo may have gotten the decision but Rocky accomplished more than anyone thought he would, reached his goal, and got his girl. The outcome of the fight might as well be background noise from his perspective. He's got what's important right in front of him.
“Smoking” Joe Frazier was a famous heavyweight champion boxer who fought at the same time as Muhammad Ali. He fought Ali 3 times, winning the first match but losing the others.
Great reaction Amanda! Your feeling of "pleasant surprise " and "not expecting" to like Rocky as much as you do - is exactly what we who watched it in movie theaters felt when it was a new release. That's why it won Best Movie Oscar award even though it had unknown actors and a low budget. Mickey the trainer was "The Penguin" in the original Batman. Joe Frazier who was introduced to the audience was a former world heavyweight champion at the time.
Great reaction Amanda, you completely understood this film. By the way, the fight being "set" just means the date, time, venue and finances are all agreed. It doesn't mean the fight is 'fixed'.
Most female reactors feel the same way at the moment Rocky prevents her leaving and corners her by the door. That would make most women feel very uncomfortable, regardless of Rocky's actual motives, let alone an extremely shy woman in a man's apartment for the first time. The moment quickly passes of course, but Amanda's reaction reflects perfectly just how uneasy Adrian was feeling at that point. @@MCGguitar698
BUTKUS was Stallone's beloved Dog IRL. He was so broke before the Movie, he had to sell Butkus for $50. With his First Check, he went to where he sold him and waited Three days for the buyer to arrive. Stallone paid over 30 times what he sold him for, but it was well worth it! The Lead Street Singer was Sylvester's brother Frankie (Frankie also wrote that song). Stallone has always called this First and Foremost a Love Story, not an Action Movie. BTW, The Sequels are just as Good, if not better... Bigger Budgets meant better shots!
Rocky Balboa is the greatest movie character of all time. If you follow the entire Rocky journey, you get to see nearly 50 years of a characters life. It is beautiful.
The reason actual 'contenders' didn't want to fight is because they had reputations to worry about. They don't want to ruin their careers because they didn't have enough time to properly prepare. Rocky (some think his name is Adrian :)) has no such reputation to even think about.
This film is great. (Rocky II as well). There is no other way to state it. Sylvester Stallone wrote the screeplay in 3.5 days I believe. Was offered $250,000 USD (in 1976 dollars) and refused because he wanted to play the lead role. Finally was given a shoestring budget to make the film. Had to use friends and family for extras. Rocky was highest grossing movie of 1976. Nomiated for 10 Academy Awards and won three including best picture. Sylvester Stallone and Charlie Chaplin (The Great Dictator) are the only two artists to receive nominations in both Best Screenplay and Best Actor at the Academy Awards. Orson Welles (Citizen Kane) also accomplished this however he shared his writing nomination with another screenwriter. Sylvester Stallone plays the same role in 8 films over a 42 year timeframe. This is the majority of his lifetime. We watch him the age of himself in Rocky until he's the age of Micky.
A couple of others points. The scene where Adrian confronts Paulie and stands her ground but ultimately runs to her room and moves in with Rocky in a way reflects Rocky's fight at the end of the film. Both of them have worked on themselves with the support of each other and have accomplished something they likely never would have without each other. Rocky wanted to go the distance to prove to himself that he is worthy. Once that was accomplished, (winning the fight was never the goal) he focuses back on his top priorities....Adrian. Even notices that she lost her hat. The triumphant music at the end is about Rocky and Adrian's transcendence into being more than they ever thought possible and also the triumph of their love for each other. Rocky is the first film ever made in which the last line of dialogue is: "I love you..." I feel like that is important.
I’ve seen younger reactors cringe some with that scene when he invites her in to his apartment and I totally understand why. I will give the old cliche (it was a different time) excuse but we see that Rocky was not a threat to her and we also know that he had known her through their frequent interactions at the pet store. I think he believed he could pull her out of her shell. His feelings towards her were always genuine.
I was about sixteen when I saw this on the big screen when it first came out and it was amazing. Good stories hold up and it's very cool to see people enjoying it after all these years. Great reaction.
Was great that you got that Rocky wasn't interested in the verdict. Also that your first thought after the movie was that Adrian finally came out of her shell. I've seen a few reactors who don't get this and they are confused by the fact Apollo Creed won. Rocky didn't win but he did WIN. And Adrian won too. Rocky went the distance and he and Adrian found each other. Beautiful. Great reaction to a brilliant film.
I noticed everybody has feelings about Rocky's date with Adrian, it seems creepy by today's standards but this was nearly 50-years now so things dating was done very differently back than. A lot of people had reservations about Micky coming to Rocky after he was given an opportunity, but Micky was hard on Rocky because he really did care about him like a son and was very upset with Rocky being a collector for a gangster. He felted he could do and be so much more and that he was wasting his life. So once he was offered an opportunity Micky wanted to make sure they wouldn't hurt Rocky and that he didn't get hurt. Thats why you hard Micky say stay down, he was more worried about Rocky's health not the title he didn't want to see him take anymore of a beating, Micky really loves Rocky and you'll see it as the Rocky movies go on. Apollo beat Rocky on points, he won by split decision.
Good way to say it, things were different then. In today's world, there is no more nuance. Everything is either completely obvious or "it's stupid" or something. Don't people understand that in a relationship the two people involved understand what's happening in a way only the two of them can understand? And things shouldn't have to be completely explained, which today's audience seems to want.
Amanda - One of the biggest things many people (especially younger people) miss is that this movie came out during three very important points in American history. It was one year after the US officially ended the war in Vietnam (which was a loss), two years after the President resigned, and 1976 was our 200 year bicentennial. And it was the last reason why Apollo Creed came into the fight dressed like George Washington and later Uncle Sam. More than anything the American people needed hope... desperate hope after Vietnam and Watergate, and this movie provided that hope.
"People around him make him feel like he's not good enough" They're not the problem; he can ignore them. The problem is the one person who doesn't think he's good enough, and who sabotages him at every turn... himself.
I don't know why anyone would tell you this is a boxing movie; everyone knows it's a love story. Yes, Talia Shire is in "The Godfather", and the fight was never "fixed" he wasn't being asked to "take a dive" (lose) not like in the movie "Snatch", he was just being paid to fight. You have a really fun channel :).
Rocky really is just a story about love, the human spirit and self worth where the boxing is just a plot device to carry those stories. Your reaction was fun and really glad to see you were able to catch onto the sport elements of boxing so quickly. I hope you continue in the franchise because many of the movies are really good.
Stallone said this was more a love story than a sports movie. And he wrote it because he couldn’t get a role. So he wrote it and made a role for himself. R.I.P. Paulie - Burt Young
17:20 A man being masculine and a woman being feminine? Oh noes, the humanity. Seeing everything male as a political enemy is a choice for you, but not an obligation for all women!
There is a lot of confidence building character growth in both Rocky & Adrian. Their story continues. It is recommended to watch all 6 Rocky movies. These movies are not so much boxing movies, but about the life journey of a man who is a boxer.
The bi centennial year 1976.....everything was red white and blue...patriotic...stars n bars that year. So seeing Apollo Creed coming to the ring like that was grandstanding at its finest..
If Amanda had her way she would've dialed 911 and one of the greatest on-screen romances in the history of film would never have happened 😉. Seriously though, great reaction and I'm really looking forward to you continuing the series, you won't be disappointed.
You got it, at the most defining point of his life, what mattered most was love. Rocky is a love story above all else. The scene when he is knocked down and even Mickey is telling him to stay down, is one of the most beautiful, especially with the music.
i got to watch this fantastic movie again and loved every minute as always. I also learned so very much about you; your desire to alter the characters into what you perceive as appropriate behavior, how you perceived their first romantic encounter as 'uncomfortable' even threatening because he was dominant and expressive of his attraction to her though never did he cross the line and do even one thing without her permission. Very quick to assume the worst about their awkward, inexperienced beginning to their private relationship Don't get me wrong, I don't blame you, you're a 21st century woman and were raised in a world that views men, especially confident men, as a threat. In a world where if a man tells a woman she looks good, he goes on the suspect list. ("Rocky isn't a boxing movie, it's a love story." Sylvester Stallone )
The "Rocky Franchise" is NOT considered "a boxing movie" like you would think, given how much attention is paid to the fighting that happens in each one. Instead, it is the LIFE of a boxer. His loves, his losses, his ups and downs, his personal struggles and his supporting friends and family members. It just happens that his CAREER choice is to be a boxer. Also, Rocky 1 is NOT about "winning". It is about being able to stand toe-to-toe with the "greatest" (as Apollo was seen at that time) and go "the distance" to prove that he was a REAL boxer, and not just some "want to be" who didn't really deserve to be in the ring to begin with.
@@longfootbuddy If that was the case, then you could remove ALL the parts with Adrian, Mickey, the loan-shark, and the entire Paulie interactions and focus on JUST the meeting to get a match, training, promotion and fighting. Which would actually end up gutting the movie and providing NOTHING of interest.
Hi Amanda, you look nice!😊 The $40 Rocky got for that first fight is $229 today adjusted for inflation. When Sylvester Stallone tried selling the script for Rocky several studios were willing to buy it, but he would only sell the script if they allowed him to star in it. So, it took a long time to find someone to finance the film and let him star in it. Yep, Talia Shire (Adrian) was in "The Godfather". She is part of the Coppola family. Her brother is the director of The Godfather, Francis Ford Coppola. Apollo really didn't bother training for his fight with Rocky because he thought he had no chance of winning. Rocky on the other hand was training to win the fight or at least go the distance. This was 1976 and the American bicentennial (200 years) anniversary which Apollo dresses for entering the ring. I always say the Rocky films are a love story. The first four Rocky films are all very good! Great reactions to your very first Rocky film, Amanda!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏
Sylvester Stallone wrote all the Rocky movies (except #5) himself, and he said once in an interview that people are always mistaken that Rocky is about boxing. According to him, it’s a love story, and the boxing is just there to move the plot along.
English not being your first language your misunderstood when he said the fight is SET. He doesn't mean it's Set Up who wins & who loses. He means that already agreed upon to happen
You have to watch all the Rocky movies, including Rocky 5 (Not everyone's favorite) but you have to watch it to get the whole story. Love your reactions, keep doing a good job. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
FYI when Rocky said that the fight is set he didn’t mean it’s was fixed or rigged. He simply meant that the contract was signed and that the fight is going to happen.
Some Rocky facts! Pauly was only 34-35 when he started rocky, so he was only like 5 years older than Stallone! when he started this series U really should watch any documentary on how this got made!! Broke, almost homeless, sold his dog...for real!😮...wrote the script in 3 weeks. Was asked big money(back then) to sell it, but not star in it. He always said no. Finally sold it for 30k to ABC TV. He was good friends with and done a movie a few years prior, with Henry Winkler. He became THE STAR of😊 abc tv in the show Happy Days, as the Fonz. He heard Stallone sold the script to ABC. Henry goes to the ABC heads and says, u don't GIVE me that script, I leave the show....they gave it to him! Stallone never made a ton of money on the rockymovies. Only as a writer actor choreographer. He got ripped off by the first producer, who bought the rights and rocky name, and never sold it back to Stallone, though he's made billions! Based on a real tune up fight, for Ali. He was going to fight Frazier later in the year, for the title, but he wanted a tune-up fight. He fought against Chuck Wepner, a journeyman tomato can bleeder, who was good, but never top 10 ranked. And he damn near knocked Ali out!😮 The guy singing outside, is his real brother Frank!😮 The first guy he fights in this movie, Spider, shows up in Rocky Balboa or Creed! The teenage girl he talks to, also comes back in one of those movies! Adrian is the sister in godfather!😮😮 Stallone almost died in 4, because Drago, actually cracked his ribs, puntured a lung, punctured his heart sac! Drago in real life, has multiple masters PhD in engineering! The blonde wife of Drago, shows up in Creed 2 and so does Drago, and Stallone actually married that woman, and had beautiful daughters with her! Tommy Morrison in part 5 was a real boxer and could have been the greatest ever, but drugs and booze got him. In 3 Clubber got the role, by winning a Tough man contest! In 3 hulk Hogan, hit Stallone for real in the back of his shoulders with his forearm, and moved vertebrae. Dennis Quaid did a amateur tough guy boxing movie, kind of based on the Clubber Lang actor, that was very good, called Tough Enough! and busted his lip open! There was never going to be a 2, but this movie made so much money, win Oscars, etc., Stallone wrote a sequel! When he was accepting an Oscar for this movie on stage, Ali comes up, grabs him, fakes punches at him and says, "u stole this movie idea from me!" Paulie has done a couple other great movies, Rob the Mob, and Pope of Greenich Village! Adrian is part of the Coppola family.... Francis Ford, Nick Cage, Sophia Coppola... maybe her daughter! What 1 and 2 are really, the ultimate love story! U can go see the Rocky statue in Philly! The mistake of colors he's wearing, in the auditorium, was due to a mistake and money problems, so they kept it in, and had the dialogue reflect this! Watch all but u can skip 5, finish the Rocky series, then go to Creed! The Great fight ever... middleweight Ray...boom boom Mancini vs Duk ku Kim,... outdoors, Caesars palace. Outdoors. Went the distance. Slug fest. Kim died in the ring. He fought the last round with a busted blood vessel in his brain. Fights went to twelve after that.
That’s a really good point you made when Mickey visits Rocky right after he accepts the fight Obviously, Rocky is still upset and resent Mickey for not helping him out 10’years years ago, but what if Rocky just wanted an apology from mick ..
Joe Frazier was the man who beaten Muhammad Ali the champion at the time. Ali sufferred serious brain injury after years of fighting. He became a stumbling old man with shakes and stutters as he tried to speak. There are lots of documentaries and movies about Ali. I think you might find one you might like. A documentary of Ali is The Rumble in the Junble where he traveled to Africa to fight George Foreman. It was a grueling match. It showed how Ali prepared for the fight and how he interacted with the local culture. You might recognize Foreman in tv commercials while selling grills named after him.
The bartender calling Apollo a jig clown (a racist remark) then cutting to apollo telling the public to stay in school and use your brain is just great filmmaking
I just subscribed because of your awesome reaction to Rocky. You have unknowingly stumbled upon the greatest saga in cinematic history. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
Rocky was a “loser” who learned to respect himself as well as earn respect and love from others. He learned that being great or being a failure comes from within, that no one else can make you that way.
What is the box back in the late 70s early 80s and a coach/manager is a huge deal. Often times in a fight you won’t recognize the direction things are going or the mistakes you’re making. Sometimes you just need someone to pray with you in your corner. The manager gets a cut of the money yes, but that’s not Mickey’s goal. I have a picture of Stallone with my last manager and his gym in Southern California.
When it comes to Rocky its important to know what it means to Stallone. He wasn't a star yet snd the film launched him, he was broke and had to sell his dog (He got him back and he plays Buttkus) to make ends meet. He was also offered alot of money if someone else played Rocky but he turned it down. Rocky is very much Stallone they're both looking for their big chance in a difficult industry to navigate on your own
Amanda, when he said the fight was set. He meant the date, time and place. And that the boxing commission had already sanctioned it. Not that it was rigged.
Ok but did you know i have a Patreon now and you can follow me there? :D www.patreon.com/AmandaMiquilena
No Rocky is not a boxing movie. It is a romance.
You'll love the franchise and the Rocky journey 🙏😎

Great reaction Amanda! Your feeling of "pleasant surprise " and "not expecting" to like Rocky as much as you do - is exactly what we who watched it in movie theaters felt when it was a new release. That's why it won Best Movie Oscar award even though it had unknown actors and a low budget. Mickey the trainer was "The Penguin" in the original Batman. Joe Frazier who was introduced to the audience was a former world heavyweight champion at the time.
The “fight is set” means it’s already scheduled, which is what a manager might do.
Great reaction Amanda, you completely understood this film. By the way, the fight being "set" just means the date, time, venue and finances are all agreed. It doesn't mean the fight is 'fixed'.
No she did not! Earlier in the film she thought Rocky was so very aggressive pursuing Adrian.
17:21 if she went at her own pace she'd die alone.
Modern women HATE that scene.
Feminism has truly ruined moden women.
You'll havta wait for Rocky III to hear Eye of the Tiger.
Rocky Balboa is the greatest movie character of all time. If you follow the entire Rocky journey, you get to see nearly 50 years of a characters life. It is beautiful.
Sylvester Stallone said once in an interview about Rocky:
"It's not a sports movie, it's a love story"
1976 Adrian gets a boyfriend. 2023 Adrian is expected to call 911.
2024 our birth rates are below replacement levels.
Rocky is the first film ever made in which the last line of dialogue is: "I love you..."
I feel like that is important.
Stallone was nominated for best screenplay for the film, it won the oscar for best film, director and editing.
Fun fact: the two turtles Cuff and Link are still alive and living happily with Stallone to this day. 😊
Sometimes you have to help people get out of their own way. That’s how I’ve always looked at that scene.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of things this generation cringes over
I was about sixteen when I saw this on the big screen when it first came out and it was amazing. Good stories hold up and it's very cool to see people enjoying it after all these years. Great reaction.
The Movie is about Life and Love. The Sport aspect is only a piece of his Life.
Darn it, I hated that you thought it was fixed. Regardless, lets do Rocky 2!!!

Facts 💯
Amanda -
One of the biggest things many people (especially younger people) miss is that this movie came out during three very important points in American history.
"People around him make him feel like he's not good enough"
They're not the problem; he can ignore them.
The "fight is set" means that it is ARRANGED TO HAPPEN.
The "fight is FIXED" means that it is RIGGED before the fight starts.
Butkus was actually Stallone's dog! Unfortunately Butkus died of a heart attack in 1981 ending his acting career
There is a lot of confidence building character growth in both Rocky & Adrian. Their story continues. It is recommended to watch all 6 Rocky movies. These movies are not so much boxing movies, but about the life journey of a man who is a boxer.
Stuff that Stallone writes and stars in are always worth watching. His roles in things he didn't write are very hit or miss.
"The fight is set" just meant that it was arranged and going to take place.
"Set" just means "Scheduled," not "Fixed."
When they say "the fight is set" they are talking about the date, not the outcome. The fight is "fixed" is the terminology to indicate it is fake.
Ya, the fight wasn't fixed.. it was just set, meaning planned. He wasn't supposed to lose, everyone just assumed he would. Great reaction. Thank you.
I love your edited in jokes and stuff 😅😅
This movie is one of the best when it comes to both a love story and trying to prove yourself.
It is about being able to stand toe-to-toe with the "greatest" (as Apollo was seen at that time) and go "the distance" to prove that he was a REAL boxer, and not just some "want to be" who didn't really deserve to be in the ring to begin with.
no, its just about boxing
@@longfootbuddy If that was the case, then you could remove ALL the parts with Adrian, Mickey, the loan-shark, and the entire Paulie interactions and focus on JUST the meeting to get a match, training, promotion and fighting.
Which would actually end up gutting the movie and providing NOTHING of interest.
You are right. Gazzo's actor is in the Godfather part I and II.
Great reaction! Just fyi, the fight being 'set' didnt mean it was 'fixed'. They were just saying it had been arranged.
Adrian is a great boxer! ❤
"The fight is set" doesnt mean the result is set... it means the date is set and the deals are done.
When people new to Rocky films expect Eye of the Tiger. 🤣
Classic =D You know a woman loves you when she hugs you tightly with all that sweat and blood all over the place =P
Sylvester Stallone wrote all the Rocky movies (except #5) himself, and he said once in an interview that people are always mistaken that Rocky is about boxing. According to him, it’s a love story, and the boxing is just there to move the plot along.
Sylvester Stallone wrote all 6 Rocky movies, he just didn't direct Rocky 5
I stand corrected .
@@jenniferyorgan4215
English not being your first language your misunderstood when he said the fight is SET. He doesn't mean it's Set Up who wins & who loses. He means that already agreed upon to happen
The best romantic love film that is boxing-adjacent.
Rocky 2 was the best one and one of the most inspirational movies.
I think III and IV are better IMO
This film is a masterpiece. So emotional, such good characters and writing!
A good drama will have elements of humor. That's what makes it feel real.
My dear Amanda loved the reaction as usual keep up the great work. 🙏✌❤
Um Clássico ABSOLUTO.
Pauly was only 34-35 when he started rocky, so he was only like 5 years older than Stallone! when he started this series
U really should watch any documentary on how this got made!!
That’s a really good point you made when Mickey visits Rocky right after he accepts the fight
Obviously, Rocky is still upset and resent Mickey for not helping him out 10’years years ago, but what if Rocky just wanted an apology from mick ..
I think what I like best about your reactions is your great sense of humor. It can be as sharp as a knife.
It's the best acting Stallone ever did. After that, he just went action star with a few exceptions.
Sylvester Stallone still has the turtles Cuff and Link.
Stallone himself said that Rocky is not a boxing movie, it's a love story with boxing in it.
This is not a movie about boxing, it is a love story (between Rocky and Adrian) with a side story that centers around boxing.
Rocky. The movie with a lot of humanly human humans. They should have had you as an advertising director.
Great Reaction....... The Theme during the Whole Rocky Franchise is about Relationships and Personal Growth, with a Little Boxing Thrown In.......
I really enjoyed your reaction! Thank you!
You may be wrong but at least you are confident. lol 😁😂
Rocky is only a joke until you watch it. It's a great love story with a little boxing. Beautiful film.
I just subscribed because of your awesome reaction to Rocky. You have unknowingly stumbled upon the greatest saga in cinematic history. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
The fight was not fixed. Apollo didn't think much of Rocky's abilities, but there was no cheating involved. It was a fair fight.
I’ll be there I really enjoyed your reaction. Glad you liked it. It’s gonna get even better believe it or not. Take care and have a nice day.🌸💛✝️
I really enjoy Amanda’s sense of humor. She does more than just “reacts”. She interacts.
Well now you have to see the whole saga. And us with you ☺
Please don't skip any of the Rocky series before watching Creed
My favorite of the Rocky franchise.
You are remarkably insightful, astute and genuine. Always a joy to share your reactions!
Well done!
So astute she thought the fight was fixed the entire time lmao
Rocky is very much Stallone they're both looking for their big chance in a difficult industry to navigate on your own
You should watch the rest of the series. The characters evolve. Each movie uses boxing as an analogy for struggling through life.
Amanda, when he said the fight was set. He meant the date, time and place. And that the boxing commission had already sanctioned it. Not that it was rigged.
The fight being set just meant it had been announced and a date set. "Fixed" is what they say if it's crooked and one is set to lose.
You'll love the franchise and the Rocky journey 🙏😎
Rocky was never a boxing movie. It was a love story that happens to have boxing in it.
Adrian is the heart and soul of all the Rocky movies. This is a love story!
