The Typhoon deserves the distinction that it was at least as dangerous to its crews as it was to the enemy! I can only express my admiration about the pilots going to war with this beast
My uncle Ken was in charge of building advanced landing grounds for the Canadian Army as they pushed through Belgium and Holland. At their peak they were turning out another every 3 weeks. Mostly for Typhoons.
The Germans called them " Jabos " ! They were terrified of them ! A salvo of it's eight rockets was the equivalent of a salvo from a naval cruisers 6inch guns !
It's a real amazing aircraft this is. I really like this aircraft because of my dad. He was one of the founders of the Hawker Typhoon preservation group which is rebuilding the RB396 Typhoon (The one in the thumbnail) But unfortunately left. I still love this aircraft so does my dad. Very educational video. :)
It's ironic that the Typhoon was almost cancelled in favor of the US P-47, because in post war histories the Typhoon is often compared to the P-47 as being an exceptional and hard-hitting ground attack aircraft.
Why so many splicing in of repeat footage of spits and hurricanes it does nothing to the visual appeal and distracts the viewer on what the narrator is saying, better have had more static pics instead of jumping to these redundant pieces of filler.
I believe that Germans had the equall of Typhoon in the FW-190 especially the d version and luckilly for mankind they didn't have the time to develop their jet fighters and the DO-335 Pfeil which if it was in large numbers available then the allies would have a huge problem as also is the case of He-219.But Typhhon contributed greatly at the german defeat and was a supreme fighter bomber aircraft.I would like to see a video of Dewoitine d-520 and a video Typhoon vs german anti aircraft quadraple 20mm cannon.
It wouldn’t have mattered what the Germans did…the Allies were working on new aircraft as well and in huge numbers!..Bearcats, Hornets, Super Corsairs, Tempests, Sea Fury’s, and jet powered planes as well…not to mention the Bomb!…Germany was done the second they invaded Russia!..
Thanks for your video..turned out to be a great weapon.💥💥🇬🇧
Glad you enjoyed it
This was one of my fav models as a child back in the 70s. It's so badass looking.
Typhoon, P-38, P-40, P-61, we're all cool looking aircraft of WW2
Eisenhower himself said that D Day would not have been successful without the Typhoon

The "Hawker Hurricane" at 00:46 is in fact a Supermarine Spitfire.
The Brits were masters of camouflage. Typhoons could be quickly made to look like Spitfires .. including the sole 2 seat Typhoon trainer. :)
😃Yep.

Why R U so under rated
Tyfoon helped in it's part don't underestimate the brute could take punch and get the lucky ones home
What about the Hawker Tempest?
What about it ?
Why so many shots of 2 seater Spitfires?
God bless all Ground Attack pilots for their sacrifice at Normandy

Cost my uncle his life off the coast off uk.

Good content but your editing is terrible: choppy and jerky, fast cutting, words popping up and disappearing way too fast.
Bom-ba? no; pronounced bommer fps
Quite a few weirdly pronounced words in this, I thought.
I don't think it was a success in every way. It was late. Spitfire Vs had to hold the line against superior Fw190s for most of a year.
It beat the Fw190 doing low level hit and run
