  • How I clean my Sidewinder and not necessarily what you should do. Please get properly trained from a certified instructor before you put your hands on any rebreather.

      That’s awesome. If you happen to struggle with the switch, I don’t suspect you will, don’t lose your motivation. When it all comes together it will feel like the best decision in diving you ever made. Remember to make slow methodical changes to buoyancy. It will be great!

      If technical/trimix diving is in your future, a rebreather regardless of brand is a no brainer. Keep doing the research and you’ll be happy with whatever you end up getting. Just remember to study hard and ask lots of questions.

    Thanks for another helpful video. I’ve got a Spirit on order, but the innards are essentially the same.

      Simplicity goes a long way. Not to mention many kiss parts are interchangeable in case of a problem in the field.

    First thank you for taking the time to help me evaluate this unit. Do you put any dielectric grease on the O2 sensor connection. You mentioned a water vinegar mix to clean the head, would you do that for the sorb canisters and screens as well?do you leave the computer connected or do you disconnect it when you store it? Do you use the same tablets to clean the counter lung?

      I haven’t put anything on the connector pins but I like the idea. Yes, same thing for the canisters. I don’t see any need to ever remove the computer other than sending it out for service. Yes same tablets for the hoses and counterlung.

    Would you mind letting us know where you got trained at for your sidewinder training. I live in the Midwest like you do.

    Does the counter lung need interior cleaning?

    • @familyscuba1292
      @familyscuba1292  Рік тому

      Yes. You’ll need to disinfect it with steramine. I rinse it out with water and let it dry usually. I’ll soak it in the steramine after a long weekend of repetitive use or every couple of weeks of single charter weekend diving.

    35:17 Possible consideration is a DiveRite regulator as they openly sell rebuild kits to the end user no issues. Ben over at Paragon can get what you need. 👌💪🤙 Apeks on the other hand has gone to 💩as far product availability, spare parts and rebuild kits, what a disappointment.

      That is disappointing considering they are such a reputable company. I get most of my gear from dgx. They have great customer service and sell rebuild kits for most everything they sell.
