- In this video, we're exploring must-try legendary food in Jakarta, Indonesia. Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia and it's perfect city to explore many local Indonesia delicacies. We recorded this video back in August 2022 during our Indonesia trip. While we didn't much time in Jakarta as we normally based in Tangerang and Bogor (check out Bogor culinary tour video if you haven't already!) when we're in Indonesia, we spent one full day to try these legendary food that have been around for a very long time.

Because we didn’t stay in Jakarta for the duration of the holiday in Indonesia, as our parents homes are not located in the city.
Oh yes the warm choc bread was everything we need on that day! So good 😋

What a great tour visiting all local spots, even the first one that you said is more centered on the ex-pat and tourism population. Who's family is in the video? Is it Ony or Peter's side of the family?
It is hard to find gelato, but it is good that it is good as well. We love Turkish ice cream now and the texture is soooo different from any ice cream we had tried before.

We went to cafe Batavia when we visited Jakarta! It was years ago but I remember they had pretty good food but a little pricey. Such a shame they didn't let you record inside would love to have heard your thoughts on the dishes

Yes the first cafe is a kopitiam which you can find many in Singapore/Malaysia too.
