I've only discovered the channel recently. I have to say the reviews are the best I've come across on youtube. Thomas has a real eye for detail and design, and an extra bonus is his voice is like velvet.
Always go for lighter colored seats, white, ivory or beige/cognac because they bring to life the space inside of the car and it also helps with claustrophobia if you have one. I always feel less tired after driving a car with lighter seats compared to dark seats. Dark seats also absorb 100 percent of solar infrared radiation (heat)💥
But they get dirty too easily, also really bad for kids and their messes 💀 I do understand the point of making it seem more lively tho. Maybe a nice light brown
I love mercedes-- but I wish they made adaptive cruise and lane centering tech standard on their vehicles. With these entry level GLCs, it is a challenge to locate one with that tech!
Hey Thomas, as always needless to say, one of the best channels for the in-depth reviews especially for the german cars. Are you planning an in depth review of the GLC 300 de (plugin hybrid) ? I have some questions and if you find them worth, it will be nice to get some info on them 1) Mileage: whats the fuel consumption of 300 de when the battery is empty OR in battery hold mode 2) is it possible to replace the individual modules of the battery or a full replacement is the only option (after the battery warranty has expired) 3) 4MATIC behaviour: is it always fixed i.e. 45/55% OR it is dynamic (e.g. due to the plugin hybrid with offroad package)
I like red interiors, sometimes, especially if the outside is boring color like white, silver, grey, the color inside really helps make car more interesting. but I would like more darker cherry red, and textured leather, this looks too bright and too smooth, just looks a bit weird. but my all time favorite would probably be like bmw marina bay blue exterior with tartufo brown/black two tone interior.
I don't want a car with: Red seats; stupid ambient light; no physical buttons; an iPad that dominates the interior. I guess I won't be buying a Mercedes any time soon, nor a Tesla. PS: I am also a bit tired of 2 liter turbo charged 4 cylinder engines ...
I think the air vents above the center screen "look crooked" up close because they tilted it towards the driver seat, so when looking at it from the driver's perspective they look more in line
I liked this video for your clothing choices. I did the same with my old blue car with brown seats - I wore blue top, brown trousers 😁 As for that Merc, exterior looks great, but I can't get used to the interior it looks futuristic but it's a bit over-done for me. I like the instrument display and the reversing camera is great. Also I found the rear cabin too cramped on all the lower Mercedes models A to C. One note on your filming quality, I often found the video to be too dark and perhaps needs contrast and/or exposure adjustment.
I have a GLC and I can guarantee that there is a ton of room behind on the backseats and it’s so confortable. But I don’t like the interior of the new Glc I don’t know what happened 😂
I also reviewed the Mercedes GLC in my channel, and I must say that Mercedes has done a great job with the GLC, far more interesting than the EQ classes!

A luxury SUV with characteristics of both a coupe and an SUV is the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300. It has a variety of engine options, including diesel and gasoline engines, as well as the choice of a hybrid powertrain. The car's interior is roomy and equipped with high-end materials and cutting-edge technology, including the MBUX infotainment system, cutting-edge driver assistance systems, and cutting-edge safety measures. There are several trims of the GLC 300, each with a different level of luxury and amenities.
Piano black crap, capacitive buttons curse and unnecessary screens overload. This fad can not die soon enough. Improve HUD and bring back the physical buttons! Luckily for Merc- BMW’s (exterior) designers completely lost their minds and Audi not killing it ether, except for their concept vehicles. Currently US and Korean design ideas are market leading, despite strong, cult-like following of German brands. Audi future “inside-out” philosophy, BMW’s Neue Klasse tech and Mercedes Vision EQXX derivatives all look very exciting though.
Hi THomas "here". I do like your reviews "here". And been following you for some time "here". But this is the first time I made a comment "here". Please don't take it in a wrong way "here" but I just could not notice how many time you said "here" So I couldn't help myself "here" and counted them all "here". In TOTAL "here" you said "HERE" in this video 90 times. It was very funny and now I can't unhear it...This is now can be added as Thomas "here" beside Thomas "blue"...LOL
Thomas now you know the air suspension is same as S-class do you still feel it is not special? Or is just the coupe that has the same air suspension as S class?
Hey is rear wheel steering only in your country? Because I just bought the fully loaded no options spared glc300 in Canada and there's no rear wheel steering, called the dealer up and they said glcs don't have rear wheel steering.
Dear mr. Thomas, great review again. Thank you for showing the turning wheel radius. I think it's below 400° to each side. You've a nice variety of outfits. Sometimes I saw you in a business suit. I often used to wear a shiny dark blue jacket for my dark blue car.
As ever a meticulous review. What I liked about what I saw was the engineering excellence, especially adaptive suspension and four wheel steering. I also love the visual impact of the interior and bold use of colour and materials. I am sure this is a wonderful car, and by the way I am unsure why I would need one of the super luxury cars recently reviewed by Thomas instead. My contention is that super luxury is now more about brand exclusivity than actual luxury. I have driven German cars for most of the last thirty years since the mid 1990s. When I came towards replacing my last Audi RS3 I started to look at EVs. Then an accident occurred and I was unable to drive for the last part of 2021 and the first half of 2022. I used the time to look at EVs in some detail. Meanwhile my other half has confined me to a Ford B Max…. It really is as dreadful as you can imagine. I looked first at Audi EVs being a creature of habit. At the time there was some version of an Audi E Tron. What it looked like to me was as if Audi were trying to make the transition from the horse drawn carriage to the early motor car. Sure it was a horseless carriage, but it was still a carriage. Then I heard more about VW/Audi’s struggle with software and I started to look at Mercedes and BMW. What I found is that I really do not like the design decisions all three big German marques have taken about interiors, UI/UX, and over complication. So to get back to the Merc here, the deal breakers for me are the fake button controls, the glossy but impractical surfaces, the over complicated software, and the general feeling that more is less. I simply would not buy this car or its EV near relatives on these grounds alone. I have instead looked at Japan. I like what Nissan have done with their Ariya from the bottom of their range on up. But I found my eventual home with the Mazda CX60. I think the transition to EVs is already and further going to change people’s perceptions of who makes a good car.
German cars are absolutely not worth the price they put on them. They can easily be 30 % cheaper and it would be still too expensive for what they offer.
Mercedes are not the well engineered cars that they once were. Yes the new ones look nice but when they get a bit older things will start to go wrong. Mercedes customer service when thing go wrong is not great either. Long term Lexus is the better choice.
Would love to hear from actual owners from late model Mercedes GLC 300 4MATIC SUV. The GLC Coupe models and the AMG GLC 43 models are ridiculously and unfairly priced too high for me to be interested. Is this a worthwhile model to buy? Or pass it up and run away?
Over $100k in Australia :-( for the base model on the road. So two decently equipped Japanese/South Korean cars or one German car.....hmmm. Even the C class bottom of the range on the road is close to $90k although you can get one if you are lucky for about $85k. Unfortunately the only people that can afford these are company lease and wealthy Chinese people.
Hey Thomas, would you be able to do a review and/or comparison between Mercedes GLC 300de (previous(facelift) and new model). Thanks in advance 🙂 No reviewer has reviewed the diesel hybrid models.
long ago, the absolute cheap plastic elements they use is shocking, the new GLE headlight knob is so shocking and cheap that I refuse to buy the brand period. Afer 20yrs they have lost me as a customer. I'm shocked to say that a BMW interior is better quality than Mercedes.
Great video as usual. Not doubting it drives well, but Mercedes has really messed up the design, don't know what's happening in their studio but it just looks really really odd. Inside and especially out.
My clothes often match my car.... when it's dirty c",) Good test of the Mercedes. An old test of yours helped me choose the VW Touran in 2017. Thanks - You do it very well .
Can GLC 300 be purchased without the off-road features? Most people want GLC for its extra space (compared to its sedan version) and higher driving position and not for taking it off road.
contacted at least 6 Mercedes dealers near me. All are telling me delivery isn't expected until September at the earliest. I'm in the US. :( Too bad I can't wait that long. :(
I drive a GLB since over a year, went to test new glc, wonderful car BUT I have to say my GLB feels way more airy, roomy . It felt very claustrophobic for me specially front seats, don’t like the styling of the new huge dashboard . Guess I will keep my GLB for long time . This week I drove 1100 km with one full tank, suoer car !
Thank you for the excellent and thoroughly informative review as per usual Thomas. Mercedes disappoints with no V6 or V8 petrol models for the GLC. These guys at Mercedes just do not seem to be able to read the market.
The red in this vehicle is at least not overwhelming, but I'm still not a big fan of it. In the middle east, they seem to love completely red interiors. Completely red seats, completely red dashboard, completely red carpeted floors, completely red door panels, completely red steering wheel, completely red ceiling. Now, that is a tad bit too much red for me.
@@autogefuehl I actually watched it couple of weeks ago :) I remember you liked X1 a lot, but not sure how it compares to GLC. Will try to watch again :)
Mercedes needs to just hire better people and or whatever they do... emulate LEXUS standards.... MERCEDES has the tech.... but damn do they sometimes have quality control issues in USA made cars
Maybee because they are driven like a stagecoach in your country ? Most roads in Europe are asphalt roads. But the one that we get in here are not that reliable either. Maybee because we drive cars like crazy or like rickshaws?
@user-uk4jl4ot6y 😁.....that's funny. Actually, in The Southern States, the roads are fairly decent. Up North, where there is frost heave and road salt as well as scraping by snow plows, the roads are in worse shape.

That interior is a bit busy for me, TBH, but I still like this car very much otherwise.
I'm waiting for the full AMG coupe!
Soon more here!
Patiently waiting for your a class review

I thought there was a new model facelift, no worries
I want to see Coupe version of this GLC soon
We will show you soon!
The interior of the previous GLC is way more luxurious and the seats are more confortable
The complaint is that little time is devoted to the assistance systems or it is not tested at all.
Have u watched full length?
When is the GLC 43 coupe’s is coming out?
Keeping u updated, soon more to the coupe here!
Hey Thomas, would you be able to do a review and/or comparison between Mercedes GLC 300de (previous(facelift) and new model). Thanks in advance 🙂 No reviewer has reviewed the diesel hybrid models.
Really hated the iPad interior of Merc and BMW 🤷🤷♀️🤷♂️
Did I miss the price?
Very good vidéo 👍
highly appreciated! Feel free to recommend our channel :-)
I think Mercedes has lost some of it's charm
Agreed. This looks less sleek and more boxy mixed with a child’s idea of sporty.
I think the opposite is the case.
Especially the interior has improved quite a bit in style.
long ago, the absolute cheap plastic elements they use is shocking, the new GLE headlight knob is so shocking and cheap that I refuse to buy the brand period. Afer 20yrs they have lost me as a customer. I'm shocked to say that a BMW interior is better quality than Mercedes.
You can say it “ a lot “
@@dimsler2 agreed. Mercedes interior material quality is terrible these days.
When will u do the coupe version on glucose an when will it be released
Soon more news to that!
Great video as usual. Not doubting it drives well, but Mercedes has really messed up the design, don't know what's happening in their studio but it just looks really really odd. Inside and especially out.
My clothes often match my car.... when it's dirty c",)
Good test of the Mercedes. An old test of yours helped me choose the VW Touran in 2017.
Thanks - You do it very well .
Thanks 🙏
Thank you👍 great review, INDEED! 😉
🙌🙌🙌
Audi just made things better, in times of everything than these big German brands
This thing looks even better than the eqc
Good video.
Does this have a petrol engine ?
See engine part!
This one is top!
Can GLC 300 be purchased without the off-road features? Most people want GLC for its extra space (compared to its sedan version) and higher driving position and not for taking it off road.
Which ones u mean?
@@autogefuehl Like, skid plates, downwards cameras, extra surround radars, underbody protection etc.
contacted at least 6 Mercedes dealers near me. All are telling me delivery isn't expected until September at the earliest. I'm in the US. :( Too bad I can't wait that long. :(
When will it b out no one in my nest car dealers has it n what till the cost b
Is it electric ???? Plz tell me it’s not
can u test cars in nürburgring ?
I drive a GLB since over a year, went to test new glc, wonderful car BUT I have to say my GLB feels way more airy, roomy . It felt very claustrophobic for me specially front seats, don’t like the styling of the new huge dashboard . Guess I will keep my GLB for long time . This week I drove 1100 km with one full tank, suoer car !
yeah the GLB just offers more space
Thank you for the excellent and thoroughly informative review as per usual Thomas. Mercedes disappoints with no V6 or V8 petrol models for the GLC. These guys at Mercedes just do not seem to be able to read the market.
thanks m8 !
Io penso che la Mercedes GLC è la più bella e tecnologica della categoria!! Molto piú moderna è qualita interni superiori a Audi Q3 e Bmw x3.❤❤
nice car
Dont listen to those sorry sods, Tom. You have what the kids call: Style.😉
😎🙌
Team Black seats!! 😂😂
@autogefuehl this or X1?
Watch this : ua-cam.com/video/KGolz7M2NYM/v-deo.html
@@autogefuehl Thank you, which one would you prefer?
Check out the video 😎
@@autogefuehl I actually watched it couple of weeks ago :) I remember you liked X1 a lot, but not sure how it compares to GLC. Will try to watch again :)
Unfortunately I doubt we'll see the PHEV here in the US. I've read that it has better than a 50 mile EV range. So sad we don't get nice things.
The PHEV finally arrived at dealers at beginning of September. Thinking about buying one!
I remember back in the days Thomas said he was 186cm. Has Thomas grown taller??
the passport was wrong
Tanks
Such a shame that we get pathetic spec on these vehicles due to the amazing Mercedes U.K. decision making. No air suspension. No rear axle steering.
I love German cars.....but Mercedes quality ranking is bad here in America currently; don't know if that's a domestic production issue or what?
Mercedes needs to just hire better people and or whatever they do... emulate LEXUS standards.... MERCEDES has the tech.... but damn do they sometimes have quality control issues in USA made cars
Import one directly from Germany.
