That tweet was really interesting! The fact that you can do everything to appease the administration and still be threatened does not feel like something that should happen in a free nation! These things are very rarely covered by anyone else, so huge thanks for bringing this most uncommon perspective!
I don't blame Trump for being sensitive to criticism given all of the nonsense that has happened to him. If I were him I would have given up a long time ago.
21:20 Then 1 minute later, the other fellow says an equally stupid statement. Very Obleftivist thought: "Freedom is probably also intimation, Trump probably threatened him to allow free speech like a dictator." You two are wild!
Lol you are a joke and misrepresented the conversation. Imagine this: I have a social media company and I hate cats. Anybody that mentions them or uses cat emoji’s gets banned. The government comes and says, “you are infringing on free speech rights. You must change your policy.” Who is in the wrong in this scenario? Can you see how this applies to facebook?
@jacobkarlin6147 That's not how the video even worked. Even the people in this video disagree with you. The situation is that a man that lime to make fun tech social interactions was told by the government to ban everyone that likes cats, then the new administration came in and said, yeah, you don't have to follow a dictator anymore, do what you want. That social media ceo then changes everything and goes on a press tour about the dictator government
@@DerykRobosson ok so facebook didn’t violate any rights and the government did violate Facebook’s shareholders rights since the government used force while facebook did not.
@@johngleue there are no principles to be explored in a dispute between a man who owns the microphone and the man who demands to use it. it is already crystal clear
@Ailsworth Except it's not. Otherwise, you wouldn't have lawmakers constantly attempting to restrict social media companies. These topics might be obvious to you, but it's because you grasp the broader principles. Other people do not, and these are useful real-world examples to concretize these abstract ideas.
@johngleue No, this is gossip because these two men, Ben and Whats-his-face are pretending that Trump maybe threatened Zuckerberg. Maybe this maybe that. This video is pure gossip speculation from two men that were on Facebooks side a few years ago saying it's not censorship because the government wasn't involved
12:20 This is such a lame argument. You sound like an abusive person who ex is now in the arms of a person who will not abuse them and will protect them so your ex feels free to speak out and say "this is my trauma" and your rebuttal is "Oh well if I abused you so badly, why are now not talking about your new lovers abuse huh?" It's delusional and demented thinking
Excellent podcast THANK YOU

4:47 to think that a organization/company is not bound by the same principles as a government regarding Rights is extremely ignorant.
I found the first minute and a half of this video rather confusing.
I'd want to join and contribute to this podcast.
Recommend Peter Ives new book “Rethinking Free Speech.”
Why shouldn't 230 be revoked, companies are obvious editorializing?

The Ayn Rand Institute has no business engaging in gossip. Free Speech is quite safe.
ARI is addressing the broader principles in controversies like these. They're not gossiping.

@Ailsworth 100% gossip. We are pretending and now people in the comments think Trump threatened them because of this gossip invented here
