All were made for Miles Laboratories by Geoffrey Wade Advertising, Chicago, 1950-1964. Dick Beals, voice of Speedy Alka-Seltzer. Charles Chaplin, director. Howard Swift, producer. Geoffrey Wade, II, script writer. The Flintstones was TV's first prime time cartoon show, developed by Wade Advertising and Hanna-Barbera as a vehicle to sell Miles Laboratories' One-A-Day Multiple Vitamins. Speedy Alka-Seltzer appeared in 212 commercials, but never in more than 40% of the total. The product was advertised for headache (ASH), upset stomach (ASU), general symptoms (ASG) and special occasions (drinking).
