    I read the original Zenna Henderson stories, and were fascinated by them. When this first was shown on TV I was unable to see it due to a prior commitment, but was able to view it several years later. Finding it again on UA-cam, it was great to finally see it again.

      Zeena Henderson understood how soooo many of us felt growing up... alienated... feeling like we were outsiders...
      Tragically, The People had learned that "different is dead"....& her writing resonated within us...

      @@Pbav8tor I thought so, too. I was disappointed that they didn't do the original story that told of Valency coming to the community and discovering that she, too, was of The People. I don't know why reading the original story had such a profound effect on me. I suppose I just wished I could grab a handful of sun and plat the twishers on someone. It was interesting to see that actually being done in the movie.

    I loved this film. I saw it a long time ago and I still find it watchable. And nothing has changed for the better. If there were aliens living on earth like this I would tell them to stay hidden.

    • @truthjustice6454
      @truthjustice6454 11 місяців тому

      Excellent observation.
      The 'sensitives' are not aliens as such, similar DNA, but a splinter colony of humanity that chose to connect directly with kindness and humble hearts with the Source Of All
      (Which is exclusively benevolent but allows free will for apparently amoral behavior-to a point)
      The 'Test/examination ' of the heart and minds of all humanity is continuous, particularly for the sensitives.
      Source loathing demonic entropic entities have Possessed and infiltrated all earthly institutions, yet the Source connection is, even now, still possible with daily communion and gratitude.

    • @truthjustice6454
      @truthjustice6454 11 місяців тому +2

      Caveat for All Folk, especially the remnant of sensitives
      Do not allow yourself to be appropriated! Not in mind, or spirit! All but the Source Of All is derivative and potentially malicious and duplicitous deception (more often than not) Be Fervant and Resolute in your personal/family convictions! There is Nothing the All Source is not capable of for the kind, pure of heart and body who express gratitude to The Source Of All several times each day at intervals.

      There was an initial menacing undertone. Isolation, abandonment, uncompromising cult behavior.
      The teacher was supposed to be one of 'The People ' in the original novel, her awakening to remembrance along with the children's returned memories.
      Yes, despite my solid foundation of absolute cynicism (many good reasons experienced personally and vicariously for this protective mentality) I found myself rather enchanted by the film.
      Script, pacing, cinematography, acting all exceptional.
      The horror is in the reality that those who inflicted the most gruesome traumas and 'witch' burnings are the same institutions/often direct defendants of such persecutors. The nightmare never ends for the wilfully ignorant who deliberately acknowledge psychic /spiritual authority to any
      Entity Other than 'The Presence '

    • @truthjustice6454

      I guess they didn't like what I had to say about the irony that " The People " & " The Godfather " were both released in 1972 , done in the same areas , by some of the same people , representing opposite polarities .... One went on to export fear, terror , greed , guns , mysoginy, fake religion,
      criminality & sequel & sequel , AP devolved into " Scarface " & 📺 gave us the Sopranos
      as we turned greed into our new god 🙏.
      "The People " represents the road not taken that Henry David Thoreau spoke of...
      Living simply, sharing natural food , doing energy healing , communing with the redwoods, using native plants not synthetic chemicals , etc...
      ...The comments I made 9 hrs ago posted &
      I now see they have disappeared....guess free speech is just about dead . Now this response is acting weird, I wonder if it will go through.....we'll see .... 💕 & 🌞 T

    This felt like a Disney version of 1960's "Village of the Damned". Fun flick, had its ups and downs (literally). This is a good horror flick to show the kids if you don't want them to get scared. I actually enjoyed it, of course, it had the eternally cute Kim Darby alongside an unusually not-over-the-top William Shatner, as well as one of my favorite actors Dan O'Herlihy. I was 18 in 1972 and a total hippie, even tho I was the 5 year younger sister of ones at the beginning. That vibe was all around everyone, no matter what age anyone was picked it up if they were close to that frequency. This movie is reflecting that amazing time's beliefs. That's why the movie attracted you, you were a 9 year old hippie! Nice to hear from you!

      It is an interesting sweet film ....guess that's why it almost disappeared...no one gets shot , no car chases , no T & A. ( though some of the actors are beautiful ! Incl the kids ! ) Redwoods, nature , simple old church.... Saw it 50+ yrs ago & never forgot it ! See my new lead comments if you'd like..

    I love Creature Features, just discovered this. How about showing The Devil's Rain with William Shatner! He fights off Satanists it great. The occult and Satanism were big in 70's and late 60's horror flicks with a dash of psychedelia!

    So: the more of this film I watch the more I keep getting reminded of “Escape from Witch Mountain!”. Seriously, even the Harmonica for the boy and girl remembering when he plays…and he doesn’t even have to be holding it! I half expected the little girl to pull out her Star Box purse and some puppets to start dancing to the harmonica! LOl! I haven’t yet seen the ending but I’m guessing they are Aliens just like Witch Mountain…this came first apparently, so did Disney rip off the idea from here? Or maybe the same writer(s)? Or did Tony and Tia get sent outside to learn? Lol, now I think I’ll watch EFWM right after this!

      I'm watching this right now and this is really pretty well the same story in a way maybe the writers were showing the ones being rescued from the oceans. Intresting

    • @mollygarden9535

      Nobody ripped off anybody! Zenna Henderson wrote The People stories first, starting in the 50s. (Look for the book _Ingathering_ -- it has all the stories, including some that were never published.) Then, Alexander Key who was a big fan of hers, wrote _Escape to Witch Mountain_ the original novel, while being careful not to make it like a plagiarism, deliberately wrote it like something that could happen with The People. Then, Coppola made this film. Then, Disney made the _Escape to Witch Mountain_ film!

    Hello Folks. I just started watching the show and I think you all are great!! I especially like Miss Tangella. You fellas are great, but she's got something special about her. I was telling my husband about the show and when I was telling him about her I called her "silent but deadly". He said he just had to see someone I would describe like that, so I showed him the last video I watched and he thought she was cute, and he completely agreed with me, "silent but deadly ". Hahahahaha 😂🤣😂🤣😂
