Bill, what if that persons pelvic is forward, and his rectus abdominis depress his sternum. Wouldn't the strategy opposite to what you said? Because we have thoracic forward orientation / sternum depressed because of this. Isnt the first strategy for this, relax your rectus ab.?
Hey Bill Can you point me the excercise for posterior expansion below scapula. The video is kind of old so it's difficult to find the insta post. Thanks
Hi Bill, When you talking about using campos and the wide stance HE squat variation to address IR limitation due to PL compression- is this something you would use early on in later game wides? The wide stance is where their ER is then you capture some eccentric orientation due to the hip flexion? With the campo do you de-emphasize any type of turn as that would just drive more orientation?
Yes, you can use it early on if you can get into a range of depth. Pay attention to the SLR comment on that. Sorry, I'm not understanding your campo question for some reason.
@@BillHartmanPT No problem- I think I posted that comment before reading it back over. In regards to the campo deadlift- I'm trying to figure out at what point you may implement these with wides. In the video you mention starting with a modified campo followed by the wide stance squat. Is the idea here to expand the PL on the left side to create space to bring the right side back and towards center? If we are going after IR then would you keep the rear foot flat on the floor with the intent being to turn the sacrum back to facing forward. Is that something that you might do if the R has early ER available but the left is still concentrically oriented below the trochanter? I'm a little unsure of how you would implement campo with a wide with PL compression as they wouldn't have the 90+/- hip flexion to get into the bottom position. Is this an example of using a compensatory compression on one side to get some expansion contralaterally? So if we have left foot back, the right side will be in 90 ish degrees of hip "flexion" which will cause a turn to the left due to compensation in this range, which would allow the left side to gain some expansion posteriorly? In a more general sense I'd love to know what sort of presentation would lead you to implementing a campo in a late game wide with PL compression? What might your intent be? For the SLR comment- do you mean that the squat variation would probably only be an effective means of gaining IR if SLR is limited to at least 70 (but probably lower)? So the intent would be to gain some IR via eccentric orientation of the PL pelvis and thorax? Apologies for the essay!
I spent 2k on physio, tried 3 different PTs and you fixed my back pain in one 7 min video . your training should be compulsory for all PTs
Glad you're feeling better.
Great Vid Bill !
Would love to see a video on the Narrow ISA to recapture external rotation
reduce anterior orientatoin and restore posterior expansion

This is awesome sir!! This goes right along with my question during your IG live the other day. Thank you so much.
most welcome.

Thanks
search posterior lower expansion
So, wide or narrow you suggest trying side lying exercise. ?
When you have A/P compression, it's one of the easier places to get A/P expansion/shape change that is favorable.
