Daiwa Scarlet is an especially interesting character who i consider one of my favorites in Uma Musume. The real horse has 11 children, her last one was that of Grand Scarlet, her only son, who is as of now in training. Daiwa Scarlet was recently retired from breeding in early 2024.
So I thought that was only a joke what happened to her in the OVA where her eye got hit by a wood chip. But wow its true then the attention to detail from Uma Musume to these horses sure is amazing
wow after watching her in the anime uma musume they really did her history well even down to the wood chip incident thank you so much for sharing her story she really is an amazing horse i wish i could have seen them all race but im in the US
Daiwa Scarlet want to challenge the males with her 10 female foals but anyway she's indeed a strong mare. As always it's hard to see footage of these horses in current times in ranches and just recently I got to read a news about Nice Nature and the donation campaign for the oldest race horse of 33yrs old and got to live more comfortably with the donation money.
@Hunter6213 It's nice for a retired racehorse if you're in Shidai, Northern farm or Big red farm stables but it's really much harder for those horses who are diverted to independent ranches, I've seen a ranch featured on NHK who takes care of retired race horses who got less prestige in their career and they probably need more support. Though idk if Nice Nature is in those independent horse ranches since JRA is partially involved in the campaign.
