Troops from 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment, have been training in Jordan alongside soldiers from 20 other countries as part of Exercise Eager Lion. For the men of C Company, 3 Para, it was a chance to test themselves in arduous terrain against their international allies. Eager Lion is the largest exercise to take place in the Middle East, involving 5,000 troops, including 214 personnel from the UK.

I remember Alex from the para documentary very good lad
I noticed that to
But what i dont understand is how he is still a private when he said he toured Afghanistan in 2005/2006
@@tomwatson8268 if you watch the documentary about the paras, I think he was in when he was younger and then he left and rejoined became as a para. Guess he lost his rank
0:20 Lieutenant Hugh Risk..well being in the army is a very Hugh Risk 🤔😁
his parents did that on purpose for sure
If only his middle initial was G.
13yrs and still a Tom... legend
1:30 love this guys modesty and humbleness 👍
@Hugh Jarsol the out and out aggression comes from the toms theofficers are still level headed Mr Jarshole
God bless the soldiers of uk🇬🇧 and Jordan 🇯🇴. I’m so happy these guys are working together
Is it me or was the guy at 3:38 in a fairly recent documentary (in the last two years or so) about the training of the Parachute regiment?
Yes, Alex Parry. He was in "Paras Men of War". He was 31 when he did P Company. Seems a sound bloke.
Ayy I just commented that😂
Was about to comment this exact thing
Muneeb Iqbal nice
I knew i seen his face face somewhere
Glad Alex Parry is doing well and enjoying great experiences & opportunities. He was an inspiration in the ITV Paras documentary, top man!
He must’ve been in the army before hand? He said he was in Afghan years ago
@@louissanderson719Yes, he's what we call a "re-joiner".
Thank you for your service
Go Paras. Damn glad our country can still produce people like you.
That Tom there only passed out last year, he was in a hat regiment for 4 years. Now he has seen the light and come over to the dark side para reg.
Must have developed a taste for crayons.
Groucho. And sodomy.
@@abefroman8202 Those MoD budget cuts run deep when you gotta sell ass to blast ass apart.
at 3:47 there was one of the men off of the paras men of war training
Impressive....and all still alive and kicking....
THANK YOU JORDAN!
Jake Walker no problem man our country will keep providing
Good to see parry after the documentary
You guys make the best vids! 👍
How often do the paras get to actually jump into exercises? THAT would be worth coverage.
Pete Sheppard The paras haven’t jumped into combat since the Suez Crisis in 1956, something every other cap badge loves to remind them.
low7782 Take a look at my name and guess
low7782 RTR
Last time was afghanistan for 1 para. Usually once a year on exercise
@@ancientmachine9070 Thank you. Was there an op name? I'd like to learn about it. I remember the US jumped on an Afgan airfield, but didn't know about the paras.
My favourite jump was a night jump on exercise full brigade jump
Be the best❤️
id have a guess that the exercise we did in the OMAN in the mid 80's in 2 para was much bigger than this exercise
The cameras love parry don’t they
OK sounds odd but it's what you all know and doing a job for the country guys keep up the good safe work my grandad was in the British army as a sergeant major with 1000 men under him
Was there an afterparty in the theater?.. ADD Some fun !!!
frans smeets they are funny about alcohol in those Middle Eastern countries remember
@@tomh4442 : have you ever seen the Saudis partying ???
Was private Alex parry in the paratroopers programme or marines programme? I recognise his name and voice
Most of em did as much special regiment service, obviously different for people in the special services but eg i was a royal engineer and the was so many marine and para trained guys, some did even more but that wasnt advertised , on a random note tho they was usually the more chilled out relaxed guys
Ahh thought so
Yh paras men of war
Gotta be the dumbest question i've ever seen in my whole life
Bipolarbear 4873 that’s barely English you wanna try again lad
Eager beaver is hosted by the RN later in the year
Feel bad for the private at 3:39 Pls just promote him already
@ 3:37 he said he was on tour in 2005/06 , 13 years later and he's still a Pte? Is promotion that bad in the parachute regiment or was he a bad lad at one point lol
That bloke left the army then came back years later to join the paras, he was in a recent documentary about joining the paras where he explained his story.
Ok that makes sense, never knew that
i think thats the same bloke from the tv show, i think he deployed in 05 with a line infantry reg and then joined the paras a couple of years ago from civvy street
the guy was men of war and he was ex scots dragoon guards or something
He's a re joiner. Was with a previous regiment, Did tour of Aghan, left the Army, then Joined The Parachute Regiment. You usually make lance jack in 3-4 years. He's probably a good chance with a bit more maturity and experience.
hoping to join this regiment by December.
Good luck man
Good luck

I have lost a lot of respect for Jordan ever since I seen how they treated American service dogs that were given to them
What happened?
Loool you lose respect for an entire nation over how some treated a small number of dogs ??? Lmaooo
Gpmg best machine gun in the world
Yeah
Was a bit unsettling to hear one of those senior lads saying "hopefully want to go fight". We should never want to fight. Always a last resort.
Appreciate these lads for their service always.
wish they had shots of the guys laying bridges for oil tankers 🤭
0:37 what was that landing...
One of the worst heli landings I've ever seen 😂
See the spirits of the reg still scriming there helmets not like the hats just leaving them
Glad to see the training is going well for Iran
Yay another war for Israels benefit, not like we have any problems nearer to home to be dealing with is it...
The maroon machine....what a glass eye!
You would get 2 black eyes if you ever cheeky to them .
Are some blokes still using PLCE? It was bomb proof kit
Lions of Tarshish?
The 3 para bloke there was a ex hat left the army then rejoined 2018 the reg
Private Parry served for 13yrs & is still a private ? Thought you get promotions after so many years service, no ?
Matthew Crowther he was in the army in an infantry regiment for 8 years ish then left, then about 2 years ago he joined again in the para regiment, he is actually one of the oldest to join the para regiment and he was part of a TV program called “men of war”
xclone jager So in the British armed forces if one were to re-enlist into another branch then his rank doesn’t follow him? If that’s the case why is that?
The Great One it’d depend on what unit/corps he was in, courses he’d passed and length of time he was out before they’d determine the rank he’d rejoin as.
@@abes3925 Yea, basically different trades and regiments have their own promotion cadres. If he was a Cpl who had done Junior Brecon, he may have been able to go back in as a Cpl if he rejoined within a set time frame and there are slots for that rank. However if he was a LCpl he probably would drop down as the LCpl courses are typically run by individual regiments. The rules change regularly depending on recruiting requirements.
To answer the OP - Very few regiments or corps in the British Army have time promotion. We have to be recommended and pass courses to promote.
that lieutenant has huge risk :3
Oooo smoothbore challenger 2 .
There is no challenger in this video.
@@spoonyspoonicus4648 sad kettle noises * 😧

Ah bless.
Lt Huge Risk.
What
Hugh risk lol
Watch out for the Jackals.
😈😈😈😈😈😈
👌 😎
Promotion mega slow? How come? Should be senior ranks.
Maximus H he left the army then reenlisted as a para,
Also people don’t always want to be promoted, I knew a guy who did 12 years and was happy as a private, it’s a lot of responsibility to get promoted and not everyone wants it
Sorry for these guys , the politicians are just not to be trusted , the army are great it's just the politicians.
For how long his been in private im assuming thats by choice
Cheers
