I enjoy your joy. I consider these videos a complete package for a naturalist or photographer. I plan to watch everything you post. Thank you for your work.
Another really nice video about the outdoors, with a few good photos thrown in for good measure. When one is able enough this is what photography should be like.
Keep the videos coming Espen, always a highly enjoyable watch. What a beautiful bird the wheatear is, I have seen a few this week on the very west Cornwall coast.
I really have to say thank you for your great videos! I like the way they are calming and the effort you make to film for us while photographing. Also you seem like a very great person, you spread positivity and we can see your love for photography!
Top video Espen, I love Wheatears such beautiful birds, we only get a handful breed down on the lizard in Cornwall and I’ve yet to hear them sing. Awesome stuff topped off with some nice scran at the end. All the best R 👍
How coincidental: I photographed a female Wheatear on a friends farm yesterday (22/04/21). A very rare visitor to my bit of South Staffordshire, so I believe it was just passing through. I was fortunate to have attached my MC20 to my 300mm f4 and EM1X, as it was some distance away and attempting to climb over the active electric fence would have scared it off.
Nice pictures of this little guy. I am on a quest right now, to photograph this little bird here in saxony/germany, where he is quite rar. And when i saw your footage i thought to me: „man, this is wheatear heaven :D“
If that was here in Spain would be surrounded of trash everywhere. What a beautyful video. We both share the same passions, I also carry my camera on my mtb. :) Regards!
Its the best plan, birding and biking. Near were i live the slopes are hard but the birding its very good, about 20 to 30 species different (Colombian Andes). Good video, thanks.
Awesome work man ... and my favorite quick meals: tortellini ... add mozzarella grated cheese after they are boiled and they will melt together and it tastes amazing :)
Beautiful as always Espen. Taking a meal does enable one to prolong the time one can spend out there and by the way there are small stands to attach under the gas canister that make the stove a great deal more stable.
Hi Espen please keep the Vlog coming. Last year you visited a site on the Dee? with loads of birds Yellowhammer, Linnet, skulking around Gorse very photogenic. Also a bird that I have been trying to catch up with is Crested tit (Lophophanes cristatus scoticus). I would be so pleased if you would consider taking us to a relict Caledonian woodland for a special Vlog : )
Loved this video Espen, My two passions wildlife photography and cycling. I've often thought about putting the two together but have so far only carried my landscape kit. Now your making me rethink if I can manage my Sony A6400 and 200-600🤔. Lovely shots👍
I really enjoyed the video, beautiful country. Your video exhibits the journey and solitude tracking a single species, very relaxing. I have a question and a comment. I’m in my first year of photography, how close you get to the bird? Starting out I assumed the bird needed to fill the frame or be cropped to fill, I’m realizing now the photograph can tell a better story when it includes a larger more expanse view of countryside. The bird perched on the rock with the vast open space really conveys its struggle to survive. I know nothing about filming, however I was wondering if the footage riding the bike, starting about 0:49, if it would convey your travels from point a to point b if all cuts had you riding the same direction across the screen. Riding to the left and right seems more like your wandering, or searching. Please don’t take this as a criticism, your amount of work and dedication ic commendable, way beyond my skill level. Please more of these. Enjoy your life.
Thanks for that, I think you're absolutely right about the filming/editing, something I'm striving to get better at so appreciate the suggestion. Depends on the bird really on how close I get, usually if I want to get really close I use a hide or something. (I'm sure I replied a while back, but UA-cam seems to think I haven't replied?)
hi Espen , just as a matter of interest to you there are lots of these birds at Kingston Morayshire , there were about a dozen of them today male and female , they have been there a week or two and they are easily approachable , also at Kingston just now we are seeing the osprey every evening , regards Jan
Hi. I see you and other photographer going trough fences and properties like they own it. Here in Australia, if we find a fence normally is a sign, "private property, stay out'. How is it working on there. Great video by the way.
Espen, excellent video as always! I also just started going out on my MTB with my camera, but having it tucked away in my backpack doesnt really work for me when it comes to photography along the route. So I am looking for a way to have the camera more ready/available, but it's hard to find something perfect for a Canon R6 + extender + 100-400II with lens hood attached. Preferrably something on the handle bar/in front of me. Considering the Think Tank Photo Digital Holster 150 and then make up some sort of mount for it.. Any good ideas/tips and tricks are welcome? ;-)
I think the Think Tank Holster sounds like a great shout! I've been thinking of getting that for the same reason and to use when I crawl closer to animals and want to bring a few items with me or another lens!
It is called geo engineering, kinda of weather modification from spraying the skies every night, sometimes could be seen with white streaks in the day that disperses into hazy muddy clouds, the decision of blocking the sun is taken.
I was searching for this type of video amd Atlast found it. Make more videos like this mountain biking and photography. Love your content sir. And where is ur 7d mark ii?
Greetings. I was hoping to get your thoughts on selecting a lens... We have several feeders around the house (some feeders are located around 10 feet away), but we also have feeders that attach to our windows; they all attract lots of birds, and this is a great opportunity to capture photos of them. I've been researching online, and I understand that a Canon 100-400 is great for walking around and finding birds that are a distance away. Since the birds are coming right up to our windows, I was thinking that a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro might work great for really close-up photos of the birds. Can I get your thoughts on whether this lens will work great for this condition. The lens will be used on a Canon 5dIII. Thank you in advance for your help. On a side note (but related), I am looking to get a used DSLR camera. I'm considering a used Canon 5dIII (since mine has been great), but figured I'd ask if there is another camera I should consider . It will be used for birding, night-sky, and wildlife photography. I'm open to other brands (i.e. Nikon). Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again! (I really enjoyed your video; I subscribed and activated the notification bell. Thank you for bringing me along on your adventure. Your music selection goes beautifully with your video!).
Thank you :) I've never tried the 100mm macro, but the 100-400 mark ii is an amazing lens and it can focus close so you might be able to use that for most of your needs. I haven't tried that many camera bodies, so I'm probably not the best person to ask, but a full frame like the 5Diii will probably be great for night sky photography. A lot of people often go for a cropped sensor for birds to get the extra "reach", but the full frame will be better for higher ISO performance.
More than photography, you're teaching us how to be with nature and how to get some clicks without disturbing their habitat. You're the best sir !!!
🙂🙏
That was a fun video. If you are having fun it translates to the audience.
I love and miss Scotland. And the Scots!
You can see your passion. Found your thing. Well done.
Big fan of the bird projects videos Espen! Great video as always. Looking forward to the next one 👍

Love the natural relaxed videos Espen keep them coming. Cheers Keith
Cheers Keith!
Thanks for another great sharing of the trip
Beautiful birds, great images Espen!
Saw your cooking story on Instagram! Really nice photo of the wheatear taking off. Super sharp and lots of detail, even with the extender.
Nothing quite like a bit of outdoor cooking on a photo adventure! Rounds off the experience nicely. Looking forward to your next.

More please! Very inspirational 🙂 Great music too 🙂
Loved the music that you chose for this video! Great photos too, what a darling bird.
Thank you- one of my favourite birds, great compositions and you are very respectful of them and their surroundings
Just beautiful, Espen.
As always a interesting video, thanks! Kind regards, Rolf

Saw my first ever Wheatears earlier this year while looking for Skylarks. Beautiful little birds. Great video as always Espen.

Cool! Crested tit is a great one for winter, so we'll see later in the year :)

Nice video Espen! You just convinced me to go for a weekend trip on my own! And do some bird photography
Awesome! You won’t regret it 🙂

Thanks Jamie! In Scotland it’s open access so you can go where you want as long as you’re respectful.
I'd love to see some music credits. Love it.
I'll try to remember. Cheers
see you have the 300mm back.
I’ve missed it!! 😅
Great video, is it nice to get the 300mm back.
Yes!!! :)

Hi Espen, great video. Are you shooting in shutter priority mode?
Thanks! I’m mostly on manual
love your content. Why is there a fence out there? is it a park or ?
Thank you Morten! The UK is filled with fences, some are boundaries, some are for sheep, some to try to keep deer out of young woodlands.
