- Synopsis of a Purer Theology Disputation 7, par. 2-7. Is it legitimate to use the non-biblical word Trinity? What about person? What about deity? Sanders and Hurd discuss the Leiden Synopsis's trinitarian theology, focusing on the early moves of disputation 7.
Note that the version of paragraph 7 used here (and as read by Fred) leaves out an instance of the word hupstasis that appears in the Brill addition (and is attested in the Latin). Should read: "... the Latins preferred to employ the term 'person' on the grounds that *hupostasis*-understood int he strict sense-can be attributed equivocally...."
