Thank you for the great clip. Who remembers the Sunday Cruises when the Styene would go out the Heads and up to Barranjoey? Great memories and appreciated by a born and bred former Manly resident
In the 60s a train to Circular Quay and the Steyne to Manly. Disappointed if it was not rough going past the heads. Remember looking down from inside to the exposed engines working their arse off. Great sight, great times
A wonderful ship I've sailed on her many times as a child and later as a man, the times we had. She was built in Scotland and then they sailed her across the ocean into Sydney Harbour.
Hi all, what a fantastic sight she was and still is a beautiful girl, that the first time I have seen the Pyrmont bridge opening, I don't know whether you would remember but when the Steyne was on the Manly run she also did a weekend day trip outside down to the Hawkesbury river from the quay and go around Lion island, she was Licenced and had a live Band on Board, it was nick-named the chuck cruise so many if they were'nt crook before they went on board they sure we when they got off.
Hi All I wasn't sure as to upload this vidio at all, but taking into concideration it shows Pyrmont Bridge opening and the Steyne being crossed by the monorail, inside shots show here as she was fitted out I decided to upload it. It was a very hot day, resulting in a delayed departure as the bridge expanded and wouldn't open. They played the same CD for the etire trip. The only speed we travelled was "Slow" The patronage was very low. However A Great day.
Hi! Is it possible for me to contact you about this footage via email? I'm very passionate about seafaring, history and photography. I'd love to use and upload this footage on my youtube page. I share footage from all kind of activities on our ocean. Cargo ships in the 1960s till now, oil rigs, fishing vessels, etc. Of course full credit and a link to your UA-cam page will be given when I upload. You can find my email on my youtube page. I am looking forward to your reply. Kind regards.

1:09 Sydney Monorail and a Tugboat. My childhood and something I’ve been in to since 2016.

What an international advertisement for our beautiful city, the South Steyne was the undisputed queen of Sydney.

How far out did it go?
I now believe it to be 1991......
Restored to full running condition and now used as a floating restaurant. What a waste. May as well have left her in Melbourne.
