This is only good for 15 watts isn't it?
    How do I make a 40watt coil?

The coil in the video would work better as a dual coil. For a single coil build, for use at about 40 watts, i would suggest using 26 gauge kanthal or ni80. At around 5 turns this will give you a resistance of about 0.5 ohms - 0.65 ohms and perfect for 30-40 watts.

If you are running it in "smart" mode it will adjust the wattage to the coil but this is for when you use prebuilt coils or stock coils.
You need to use wattage R mode
RBA wattage mode will allow manual adjustments allowed beyond the Smart restrictions
