This brings back good memories. My dad bought a new 1956 Fordor Victoria in the same coral and white paint scheme from a dealer in Cherokee, Iowa. This car stood out in conservative Iowa. My Dad got a good deal, but my Mom was embarrassed by the color. My 16 year old self loved the 225 hp 312 c.i. engine. It served the family well for many years and many miles until rust won.
Thankfully the rust is only on the rockers, for the most part. Frame is solid.. We have been told we can NOT change the color. We never planned to. Thanks for watching, subscribing and commenting!
Ĥi. How is restoration going on classic Ford!!! Have got hold of 54-56 crown Victoria association see found. You the part on the car from.other cars !!!hope see you there at one shows
I've got a '56 ford lapd police car clone. Been on the back burner for ten or fifteen years. You got me inspired to get her back on the road. Thanks , also new subscriber too.
I bet that is an awesome looking car. Glad we could offer a little inspiration. Cant get done until ya start! Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing.
Same car but a Blue and white. 35k and been in a barn since the 60’s. No rust and it’s coming home soon. Although the paint and interior are perfect..going to wrap every inch…including chrome..in a StormTrooper white with full black tint and drive it cross country. If you can..since I’m following…talk about the existing electrical, battery and voltage. I know nothing at the moment. Excited for your build. Maybe…just maybe…I’ll hit you up for some Y parts if you don’t sell whole? Oil pump…doo-dads. Alright…nice to meet all of you. I’m sure we will chat further. 👋
Put a 289 engine in it. More than enough size for that car, and totally rebuilt with bigger cam for the hot rod sound and performance you will have about 800.00 in the engine, a c4 or c6 auto trans will push it down the road great. Keep same rims, just wider tires. Do the brakes, the steering and suspension, redo interior, and body and paint, your done, you have a classic hot rod that will last you 30 years easy.
So were talking a rusto mod muscle car .Were talking Monster motor in sheep's clothing A 6 speed auto trans driving a f600 truck rear end 🤔 Ok .The rocker panels are shot box them out and run side mount exhaust for the cool look .double check the frame rails for rust rot if the bottoms are thin stiffen it up weld plate steel to it .Up grade the radiator, Disk brakes, two cylinder brake res . OR not Or maybe are you going more for a sleeper .Either way keep going with the tear down and get the structure done first then go from there . ford motors were about torque chevs were rpm's you can get both with a ford .block .If you can find one A 66 ford 396 was put into police cars it was a basic 390 with a cam and a timing change I might still have the book on that i will check that would give you all the noise power and speed you want .
I had several 55 and 56 Fords back in the 60s and 70s. A 390 with a C6 is a pretty much drop in option. More recent repowers include any small block Windsor(289, 302, 351) with a C4 or any of several 4 or 5 spd manuals. The rusted front cross member was always an issue- can be repaired pretty easily to restore front suspension functionality and reliability. Good luck - that looks like a pretty decent car.
I know you tried to get her running before so you must know you are missing something. Do you have a vid on that. If you try again just try to go back to basics. I assume you did compression check and are drawing a vacuum. Also you must hae spark and that you triple checked the timing and have spark at the plugs. That leaves fuel. Did you get any pops at all using ether ? You said that there is gas in the crankcase. Is there an intake leak ? Take the carb off and spray ether into the intake . Don't give up' If you plan on a diff engine and are gonnah take off the front just unbolt the whole nose body structure as one piece. , cut the front clip off and put in a Ford Vic front clip on. Been done many times. When I was in HS in 63-4 there was a 56 bouncing around similar but cheaper model same colors. LOL It was pretty quick. Could have been a 312. . Goog luck with the build, subbed !

A 302 would fit❤
Unfortunately that is not what we went with. A little more controversial than that. haha!.
But we appreciate the comment and the support!

289 isnt a bad idea. Thanks for trans info. It will for sure be around a while!

Sheeps clothing for sure. Nice exhaust idea.
Can you tell me about the carburetor? What is it, what rebuild kit works? I'm working one now and it's a mystery to me. Thanks for your posting. Jack
I will have to look back, but I did a video about trying to rebuild the carb on it.
i just found your channel and subscribed

@@michaelschubel6330 It for sure has life left in it, just gonna take time.. Thanks for the information..
Ford FE engines bolt right in.
Thanks for the info. I think I have read that somewhere as well. Looking for a good donor!

Im pretty sure the issue is fuel related. I will try removing the carb. What year crown vic?
Keep it Ford powered. Lots of 460 powered low mileage motorhomes out there cheap. There's your motor and trans.
Extremely helpful. Others have said a 460 as well. Noted for sure.
if youre still messing with that, ive got a bunch of fairlane 4door parts in Alabama....
We started with a complete car, minus a few trim pieces. I will keep you in mind if we need something.
Appreciate the info!
Some videos seem to be repetition with the same lines in them.
That happens when I am indecisive. But will for sure work on that!
