I am so sorry about Daisy passing James. I am new to streaming on UA-cam but watch all of your videos. Seen Daisy in many of them, she wasn't a fan of much but it was great seeing her at times. Keep up the great work, I look forward to the next video. :)

Sandra Streifel my dog went deaf at 11 years old she just passed away last week at 16. It’s a challenge just because she wouldn’t come when called. But other then that she was the same ol girl

Re: the soap staying on the gloves- I don't rinse the dishes after each one. Scrub and wash and wait until the sink is full to rinse them. You save water that way and the soap stays on the gloves until you don't need them anymore.

One thing I like about the silicone gloves and scrubbers is that food does not get stuck in them. I think that they are cleaner/fresher/less germ-y than sponges. I have no sponges! I use all silicone gloves and scrubbers and also brushes.

If it is really bad you can try using a bit of meat tenderizer. This may not work if the food is carbonized but what it does is break the proteins up.

My mom had got me a pair of those. I was very skeptical at first, and I still think that the use is very situational, but they're not terrible. I use dishwasher for most of the stuff, but some non-stick pans and baking tools are hand-washed. The gloves are good for something large and not too messy, like routine cleaning of pans, bakeware or kitchen surfaces. I've been trying to go waste-free, and I think that those gloves are better than using the plastic sponges anyway.

When I first saw the advertisement for these gloves, I remembered the story my mother used to tell me about when she worked at a small town diner. The owner was convinced that the staff couldn’t properly hand wash dishes (yes, this was long ago in a home town far away) if they used a wash cloth. So he insisted his staff wash the diner’s patrons’ dishes with their bare hands. Yum!

I was thinking about products for you to review and I was surprised that you have done several Ronco products. It never the “set it and forget it” rotisserie. That would be interesting to review as a side by side to any of your other products that have a rotisserie capability. It’s such a classic product by such a classic company. I would love to see you review this one. I’m so sorry to hear that Daisy passed away. It’s comforting to know she passed away due to old age and not a serious illness. Glad to see Elle still alive and mostly well. She’s so cute. It was hilarious to see Bailey walking around in the background doing her own thing while you talked about your other two dogs. Bailey is the best sidekick to your videos. You should have her in more videos these days. People need to smile more in these tough times and Bailey definitely does that for me at least.

Here's an idea. Just use one glove.
Keep left hand free for rinsing and grip.
I also think the point of these gloves is the overall reduction of fatigue as opposed to holding a normal sponge in your hand which may cause you to sprain your hand.
A comparison of a whole load of dishes would be great.

  • @DarKnightKilla13
    @DarKnightKilla13 4 роки тому +2

Great review as always sir, and thanks again for the new format! I wonder if those gloves would almost be better for like shower scrubbing or scrubbing tile grout... mainly since they cover your whole hand and have all the teeth, albeit softer than you'd prefer, and can retain soap pretty well.

I'm sorry to hear about sweet Daisy. 😮‍💨 Not sure if you read comments this long after a video post but I use these gloves to give my dogs a bath. They are great because they help with the suds in the thick fur and you can really massage the shampoo into their fur and clean them up well. That's what I use them for and because I left them outside after their last bath, my dogs tore it to bits playing tug of war. So there you go, 2 good uses for the gloves. 🙂

First: Sorry for your loss. Second: If I had that product, I would just use the one for my dominant hand and leave the other one bare since you only use one hand for scrubbing and washing and the other one to hold on to the item being washed. Third: The copper pan, did you periodically season it? I had a pan similar to that one (my was the green as seen on TV) that had in the instructions that you had to season the pan before first using it and after so many uses. It the same for every non-stick fry pan and cast-iron skillet I've ever owned. Fourth: I would do instagram and twitter, if I understood how it works. Fifth: Thanks for the reviews. Keep them coming.

First off, I like to say I love your comparison videos. And here's the but; I think the dried catsup test was a little skewed. You gave them both a dip in the soapy water and then you put one down into the sink. The one in the sink was given a chance to soak up some of the water from the dip and.......While you were trying the gloves and had to run the water to get the gloves to clean it, you were splashing and drenching the fork in the bottom of the sink with water too, which is re-hydrating that catsup too. That would have made it a lot easier for the sponge to clean it. Making all things equal, you should have set one of the forks off to the side (outside the sink) and dipped and tried to, and finished cleaning the first one. Then do the same thing with the other fork. And as far as the peanut butter, it has a lot of peanut oil in it and that would take forever to dry and cake on. Look forward to your next one, REALLY!

Whenever my kids lose one of them I take the other one and use it as a dish cloth and general cleaning rag/glove It works really well and when I’m done with it I can turn it inside out and throw it in the dirty clothes. [ I'm not sure what you meant about reading comments out loud, so if you ever want to read any of mine, feel free ! 💞]
💕 Hello. I also bought these, and a pair my daughter, also. Did yours come in a pair ? The one's I was ordering (on eBay) came individually, so you have to order a left & right hand if that's what you want. (Maybe knock-offs ? 🤷🏻‍♀️) They offered gray & light green. I chose the green for myself & gray for my daughter..
I'm not sure I agree with your use of these. Or let's just say we have a difference of opinion in the their uses. I feel they're for lightweight scrubbing. "Scrubbing" doesn't have to mean cleaning hard core, cemented on food items. I only have used them for dishes that are lightly dirty, & I thought you could have a pair for cleaning fruit &/or veggies ! Plus, I would never wash a plate with nasty food on it like that, at least without a good soak in hot water first. Yuck ! LOL ! (Is that a guy thing ? 🤔😂)
Also, my son doesn't have especially large hands, and he couldn't get them on ! So I kind of felt they were for women really. 😉
I guess that's all I have on these. The bottom line with these is do most people want to take the time of pulling these on to wash a few items. And I kind of forget I have them, even tho they're hanging on the wall behind my sink !! 😂
Thanks for the review, James !! It was fun, as always ! Take care ! 👍🏼♥️🙋🏻‍♀️

Not sure that it would change the results, but you gave the sponge an advantage. For all the hard ones you soaked everything at the same time and used the gloves first. The extra soak time makes it easier for the sponge.

There IS one major plus the gloves have over the sponge. Sponges are notorious for being havens for dirt, grease, germs, mold, mildew and the like, in fact they are virtually impossible to thoroughly clean and sterilize. I won't even have one in my home unless I intend to treat it as a one use disposable.

I think you'd probably find that, if you switched the hands of the gloves and wore the non-bristle side on the palm, the results would be about the same. It's probably the friction of the silicone scraping the food off instead of the bristles being effective in any way. Also, silicone is slick when wet (and soapy), so I'm not surprised it was hard to hold that glass.

James, I could have sworn you already reviewed gloves like this. Maybe I'm getting some dementia! No matter. The gloves did not pass the egg test. I love the sponge you were using, or even just a standard Scotch Brite pad.
As for your dogs, Elle reminds me of a chihuahua our family had when I was growing up. Tiny was her name, and she lived to be 18. We also had Great Danes, and she would give them hell if they tried to mess with her! They were all awesome dogs. Many thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your review James. I definitely dont see a need for those gloves especially since a sponge works quite well. RIP Daisy.

Maybe one hand soft and one hand hard bristles, or maybe harder bristles on certain fingers? kind of like one of those scrubbing pads with two sides.

  • @ShaneKnysh

Do you think a better designed scrubbing glove would be regular gloves with the scrubbing surface on the back of the fingers so you push with the knuckles rather than the finger pads?

I think I’m getting a set. I pre-rinse/wash everything before it goes in my dish pan so my stuff isn’t such a challenge. Any floating stuff in there makes me feel i just used dirty water to clean. I do them over.

Wife loves them. Works good on normal, not overly-caked dishes and protects her nails all in one. They last fine and had great customer service when a hole got poked into it.

Sorry to hear about Daisy's passing. Elle the Chihuahua is still young at age 10. I had a Chihuahua, George who I had to take Purdue University for surgery his entire spine was diseased but George past right before his 24th birthday. So if your lucky you'll have quite a few more years with Elle.

1st...sorry about your loss of Daisy. Pets ARE family members & the pain of their departure stays w/us for a long time. I'm sure Bailey would LOVE "belly scratches" w/those gloves. lol! Enjoyed your review.

I’d like to know with the peanut butter how well the peanut butter comes off the gloves because that’s my biggest con/gross thing that sponges suck at is the peanut butter sticks a lot the the abrasive side.🤮

Shannon Wojtaszek I guess get the peanut butter off first before leaving it in the sink if you do that, Or use hot water

I usually remove peanut butter with a tissue after use and put it in the sink. This way you dont need to try alot in cleaning it.

The second glass test was a UNFAIR comparison. Just because there is 2 gloves, doesn't mean you have to use both! The only reason there's 2 is because some people are right handed, while others are left.

    • @Haneven
      @Haneven 4 роки тому

I thought the same. You can use one glove to scrub with and hold the glass with a bare hand...same as with the sponge.

Just a few questions about this:
    1) What is the price of these gloves compared to a regular sponge, or just ordinary rubber gloves?
    2) How do these gloves compare to just wearing rubber gloves and doing the same thing with them?
I suspect these gloves are high priced and not much better (if any) than wearing regular kitchen gloves.

*NEVER* stick your hand in a glass to clean it! I've seen too many people with gashed hands when they break from doing this!
Always use a drinking glass cleaning sponge, (Sponge at the end of a handle) they're safe, and can really clean glasses much better than anything else.

Hi please excuse my strange question ... are they also usable for body scrubbing ? thanks a lot. Bye, gino
p.s. a little advice ... to put all dirty dishes and cutlery in the sink filled with hot water and a little soap That helps after when you will wash them And no bad smell
