Not buying the spoon in handle bit. You would need one big hole and one skinny handled spoon. Besides it would still run down the spoons handle and now make a mess on both the pans handle and the stove top.

You could have mentioned something about those orange knives with the cuts to snap off, making new edge. The black end comes off and you use that (with the blade pulled back enough, only exposing the one you want to get rid of) to hold the edge and snap it off. It is held there, on the edge. Just in case you can't find your pliers.
