#8. No the hole in the pan handle is for hanging it up. Not all pans have holes big enough for a spoon. If you did rest use the hole as illustrated, the liquid on the spoon would just run down the spoon covering the handle of the spoon and pan.
I used to work in a factory that makes pans. Their reason for making a hole at the end of the handle is to save materials. Why not the hole runs along the handle? Because the you'll most likely slip your finger into the hole and hurt yourself, and also, customers won't want to buy something like that.

You can also make a much larger hold with a multi-holed ruler.
Place the eraser-side down through one hole and the writing end of another pen or pencil then drag it in a circle. The more stable you do this, the more perfect-looking the circle will be.
I used to do that in elementary thinking I was smart :p

That's a collective weight, not a singular heavy item. If it's one thing that weighs a lot, and is of awkward shape; it would damage the bottom of the pack. Why they decided to hang it on the most flimsy looking thing I haven't a clue.

You're wrong about the hole in the handles of pots and pans. The hole was designed for hanging it up. Period. Someone came up with the idea of using it to hold spoons. There's a difference.

The proper way to snap off the razor is to use the plug on the backside of the razor - there is a small slit designed for snapping this off to ensure you don’t use you hand or pliers...
This is also nice because you don’t have to have any extra tools around

Pompom hat is older than the Romans. Holes on pan handles were actually for hanging the finished pan, a rope or strap was placed in the hole. It wasnt widely known a spoon could go in as it was rested on top of the pan, spoon plate, etc until it was added in a cooking tips magazine in 1968, but was still never bothered with as most spoons were too fat and the mess it made was worse than directly setting it on nearby surface.

As far as the hole at the end of the ruler goes for making circles- It's NOT for using the hole itself to make the circle, rather to put a thumbtack in the hole then put your pencil at whichever distance marker on the ruler to then run the ruler around in the circular motion to make whichever size circle you're looking to accomplish. then, once done, you can then use the hole to conveniently hang your ruler out of the way on your wall

Yeah man, it wouldn't be my preferred method- but will definitely work in a pinch. Especially the rulers with that hanger hole in on one end. So yeah, I hope one day it comes to the rescue in a class- or heck, maybe even work- sometime down the line

You could have mentioned something about those orange knives with the cuts to snap off, making new edge. The black end comes off and you use that (with the blade pulled back enough, only exposing the one you want to get rid of) to hold the edge and snap it off. It is held there, on the edge. Just in case you can't find your pliers.

Also the number on a tape measure’ case is the cases length to be included in your measurements so you don’t do that floppy-dangling-dropping-thing. (There’s got to be word for that!). Also also, the hole on the end clip is to put a small nail through to hold it in place. No need for a second person. The clip has a “play” of 1/16th of an inch to be included in more precise measurements.

The quote-unquote "freeze plug" on a car engine block is not there to pop out if the coolant freezes in your block although that may be an added benefit. The real reason the freeze plug is there is when the block is cast from molten metal and solidifies there has to be a way to get the sand out of the block.

Someone's finally making sense on the internet. Well shit I knew either answer given wasn't the least bit correct because some rulers have holes all the way down them.
Unless the ruler is longer than 12". Then the ruler would stick out, it would also be on an angle because it would hit on the second/middle ring. And, if you then had a binder that zips up good luck closing it.

Not buying the spoon in handle bit. You would need one big hole and one skinny handled spoon. Besides it would still run down the spoons handle and now make a mess on both the pans handle and the stove top.

Everyone is discounting the pan handle/spoon rest. Yes, it doesn't work for handles that are too long (or if the spoon is too short), like in the video, which shows the spoon resting over the pot handle & not the inside of the pot. However, it does work if the handle is short with a long handled spoon.
