- Watching Zion Williamson is to be in awe of what you’re seeing. Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming with all the different things he does. Zion's got an elegance in his explosiveness, a bit of finesse to his overwhelming force, a soft touch to compliment his sensational springiness, and even though his dunks are destructively violent, he’s a basketball player with very good vision.
When I first saw him, I thought, he’s got the explosiveness of a Dominque and the second jump of a Shawn Marion. His highlights were all caps HIGHLIGHTS, but I didn’t start thinking he was special until I saw him passing. He’s not a ball stopper, not by any stretch; he’ll grab and go, throw ahead, give the ball up early, move off-ball and find gaps. This video isn’t necessarily all of those things, but it is me trying to highlight the other stuff he does well - not just the devastating dunks.
Watching Lonzo is a luxury if you love pace pushing point guards. His ability and willingness to throw those many many hit ahead passes is not something that should be overlooked. To recognize that getting the ball out of your hands early puts so much more pressure on defenses may be something all great ball handlers know BUT putting that into practice is a different proposition altogether.
This video is about how these two have had chemistry since the jump. Zion to Zo. Zo to Zion. They’re such a dynamic duo, especially in the open court. An underrated aspect of Zion’s game is his off ball movement. A great strength of Lonzo is his vision. Put the two together and you get instant offense, a powerful punch for the Pelicans. Williamson, however, is also a willing ball mover. Zion can be a pretty potent playmaker capable of picking out a perfectly timed pass, which when combined with Lonzo’s liveliness as a cutter, makes the doubly dangerous.

Zion is one of the most efficient player inside the box. If he gets the ball in that area, it's like he will never miss a layup or dunk.

Lmao I saw the play at 3:17 and immediately though to myself "hmm fronting the post against him could work but that weakside rotation has to be primed and ready to come as soon as that entry pass is up". The very next play, Houston executes that perfectly and Zion just discards House and Tucker like their action figures in his toy chest lmaooo

I will when he gets consistent. I'm a BIG fan of Lonzo's game but he doesn't impact games like he should. I would LOVE to make more Lonzo stuff but he's gotta show me more than flashes. He's getting there but he's not there. Yet.

I’m calling it now If the Knicks sign Lonzo this off season then the Chances of Zion turning down his rookie extension to leave the pelicans and go to the the Knicks to play with RJ and Zo is a lock.I’m not even a Knicks fan and I see the play. The pelicans would have no choice but to trade Zion and I’m telling you if Julius Randle has another year like he just had then Randle and Draft compensation wouldn’t be bad for the New Orleans pelicans.
