Hi there! I just discovered your videos and I love your take on these advent calendars! 😄 Harrods looks like a great calendar this year. I am waiting for the day Guerlain shows up in an advent calendar 😁
Harrods had a Guerlain midnight secret treatment in their 2017 (or '18?) advent calendar, which I enjoyed using, although I can't say I saw groundbreaking results. But not a peep since - I would love to see some of those Rouge de Guerlain lipsticks instead of the constant stream of Charlotte Tilburys and Macs!
I agree the Guerlain lipsticks would be nice to get. I would prefer the makeup instead of the skincare. I have only tried some samples of guerlain skincare but it also didn't wow me enough to get me to splurge on the full size. 😂
So I read your comment without seeing which video it came under, and thought it was for tonight's video! 😂😂😂😂 I nearly wrote, "WHY ON EARTH DO YOU WANT THAT!"
@CosmetopiaDigest I am very lucky as yes I did. So looking forward to it. Keep up your wonderful informative videos. I love them. Wishing you a speedy recovery as I'm sad that your health has suffered lately. X
Hi Elissa! Thank you. It is from Clionadh. I am NEVER going after any other multichrome brand; the Clionadh formulation is reams above the rest. I only buy on Black Friday, and use a forwarder to save postage, but it is worth every penny.
@@elissacox4291 So far, I've bought: Royalty, Cerise, Turret, Shard (will look better on paler people - I'm too tan for this), Coat of Arms, Queen's Banquet, King's Feast, Medieval, Rose Line, Cathedral, Kiln, Flame Blown, Ray, Noble, Torch, and Stencil. About 50% of these look like they're from the same colour family (only I keep saying I can tell the difference; everyone else says it's all the same eyeshadow; I call them colour-blind). So, when you're preparing your cart, please check out swatches, and avoid similar-ish shades (unless you WANT them, like me). The formula is unlike any other multichrome. Super smooth. No grittiness. No patchiness. VERY easy to opaque-ify with just a little product. Blends SO easily, even a dummy like me can manage to look decent. The best ones are the "Jewelled Multichromes", followed by the "Hybrid" ones. I don't adore the Glitter Vibrant or Glitter ones as much as those two categories. I want to try the "Dimensional" ones next, so I can't comment on the formula yet. Kiln and Flame-Thrown are my favourite BOLD shades. Queen's Banquet and Cerise are favourite SUBTLER shades, although I'll admit I can see why people claim both are a tad similar. I want MORE, a LOT more, from Clionadh, and have a 23-shadow wishlist (I only buy for $100-ish at a time). I also got a forwarder because postage was INSANE. With the forwarder, it was only one-thirds of what Clionadh quoted. I hope that massive word-vomit helps at least somewhat, though I bet it only added to the confusion!
@@CosmetopiaDigest wow thank you for taking the time to write all that out, it’s incredibly helpful. I was going to buy some Oden’s Eye ones that came out recently, having bought some previously that are perfectly nice. But there seem to be significant texture differences between shadows, including some that are very wet and probably look great but don’t stay put. My 47 y/o eyelids need shadows with staying power. And Clinoadh are the GOAT according to everyone, so I should just dive in and not waste my money elsewhere. Shipping does sound like a sticking point though.
Hello Renu :) Hope you are well ! I do think Harrods this year is better than last years and may pick it up depending on what other Calendars are like and if there will be stock remaining! I was so sad to have missed the perfume Calendar from Harrods as have for the past 2 years loved it !😢 ❤ Amanda xx
I agree, this is better than the last couple of years' Harrods offerings. Now, this isn't a guarantee, but over the last two years, they DID restock the perfume calendar JUST for a fraction of a second, on the launch date (the first time was at 2 a.m., and someone pinged me until I woke up!), so there is a little bit of hope - launch date is September 2, so stay peeled to see if it is back in stock x
@@CosmetopiaDigest Thankyou Renu I will definitely keep a look out for the perfume one ! I’ve ordered the Harrods one as I think it’s too good to miss out on ! Also I was going over last year’s calendars earlier today and realised that I really missed out on some good ones, like the vogue calendar and net a porter one so I will keep a special eye out this year for these ones xx
I ordered it and I have received confirmation of my order and I’m in Australia. Last year and the year before I couldn’t order one because they wouldn’t ship to Australia ,so I was so happy my order went through. This will be the 3rd year of buying Advent Calendar’s from the UK so I’m not unimpressed yet, they all look great to me. Australia’s beauty advent calendars are extremely poor both in availability ,sizing and monetary value
Oooh I'm glad to hear they're back to shipping worldwide! There was such a shindy on their socmed a couple of years ago, when they stopped shipping outside the UK. What are the Aussie advent calendars? Mecca? Are they mostly full of Australian brands? Shipping from Australia must cost an absolute bomb (It cost me NZ$70 in shipping to buy books for 3kg), otherwise I'd order one just for the local brands!
@@CosmetopiaDigest Mecca doesn’t do one. Sephora does but it’s the same as the USA one which is really poor it’s full of Sephora own products and fillers. We have the body Shop same as the UK and Lush. We have 2big department stores David Jones that do one that’s multi brand but I wouldn’t say they are luxury brands, last year it cost AU $240 and was full of minis .The other store is Myer and they do a beauty box at Christmas again full of minis and cost around AU$90. We get Jo Malone,Benefit ,L’Occitane Clinique. There are no luxury multi brand Calendars here ,you will not find one with AB or Dr B Sturm or even Sol de Janeiro in them. 😊 Adore Beauty (a on line store)had one in 2022 that was multi brand that looked decent but didn’t bring one out in 2023.
@@ValentinaSmedley Thank you so much for the detailed info! $240 for just minis is daylight robbery. I wouldn't pay even $90 unless there were a couple of full sizes. I hope Adore Beauty do one this year as well, which is as good as the 2022 one - it's an absolute shame if everyone doesn't get access to decent Christmas specials. Fingers crossed for you!
@@ValentinaSmedleyThat sums it up well- apart from the international single brand advents like Clinique, Kiehls etc, and other ones mentioned, we get ASOS, LookFantastic, Space NK and Cult Beauty and that’s about it. Oh we do get one from Amazon, but not like the UK one. No, Amazon go round a drugstore with a basket and pick up all those products you can buy any day I think I saw one with 3 mascaras - think Maybelline and Rimmel - and micellar water!
@CosmetopiaDigest Sorry I expressed myself incorrectly Harrods beauty advent calendar is only one from beauty. As you mentioned in your video, same as you, I don't use all the make-up items I have already. but fragrance it's a different story I got Harrods and will see what other will be available
It does look good ! But since I'm still working on my one advent calendar from last year, and I also got a full routine that I need to start, I don't know if it's worth for me to get an advent calendar, unless I share the products with family and friends.
@@CosmetopiaDigest I think my advent calendar being only skincare and mostly serums explains why I'm so slow with it. I'm not yet pilling serums on top of each other daily. I think when you have body care too, it helps use things faster. But yeah, I'll probably check real crackers, I've commented on your new video about it.
I did buy it but last years for me was way better, too many cleansers and retinols in this box , the egf serum is fab but last year they gave us decree serum which is also very good...i do like AB cream though and would have preferred it over AB retinol. Tom ford lipstick for me is way to dark but il give it to my friend for christmas ❤ x
That was the Treat Tincture, right? I've been meaning to buy it... other things keep cropping up. It sounds lovely; 5-serums-in-1! That alone came up to half the cost of the calendar! I hope you find some lovely products that you enjoy in this year's calendar!
Why on earth are they leaving out a country that's so close to the UK??? They mostly use DHL internationally, and DHL are fine with carrying perfumes, so that's not an excuse either. Doesn't even make sense!
That doesn’t make any sense to me because I was able to order it and I live in switzerland. I mean netherlands is not that far. I hope they change that.

i like this a lot,not so much crap in it, still same price after all this years.. Yes some sample sizes , But some good size items good skincare..
I love that they haven't increased the price even by 1p! No wonder it sold out so quickly this year.
Thank you for this rundown - love your matter-of-fact deadpan delivery!
Glad you enjoyed it! More snark to come x
@@CosmetopiaDigest I'm here for all the snark ;)
This calendar looks good, I am in trouble now😂😂😂I had my heart set on Cult Beauty and Look fantastic plus 2 kbeauty ones😁
I like Harrods this year more than the last couple of years' - fewer minis.
@@CosmetopiaDigest Yes I noticed that.
I have pre-ordered this one as dipping my toe into luxury skincare and not bothered about perfumes and candles etc
Oooh nice! I look forward to hearing about your journey and what discoveries you make. What brands have you tried so far?
So happy to see a advent calendar content ❤
I swear they're launching earlier each year!
Thank you for your videos. They are hilarious! I pre ordered the harrods fragance one!
Thank you, Wanda! Stay tuned for more snark... and, do enjoy your fragrances!
I’ve ordered this, I couldn’t resist ❤😊
Oooh fun! I hope you enjoy the calendar, and all the lush skincare, once it comes xx
Renu! So nice to see you 🎉
I'm so glad to be back to roasting advent calendars - I had forgotten how stress-busting it could be!
I have ordered it I loved last years
